- Playthrough of the track Skye from my latest release, 'Isles EP'. Apologies in advance for the webcam quality. Also, there is a small audio skip near the end which may throw things ever so slightly out of time. I tried my best to get rid of it, but I guess it's no big deal.

@@pierreandferb 2 years... Did he ever sign your hoodie?
@@slixnoir nope haha
@@pierreandferb oof that's tough lol
this can’t be only 8 years old
Sure thing! I started playing at the age of 12 and I'm 21 now. I'm self taught and I pretty much was hooked on guitar after the first time I played it in music class in high school. I write little riffs and bits of music all the time, it's only when I record that I arrange them and add parts to make full songs, it's a fairly spontaneous process. And no Japanese heritage, I'm 100% Burmese!
You're going to be huge, Sithu Aye!
this comment aged well
Yes
Nothing short of a musical genius... you and Plini are just amazing!!

Yep, Sithu Aye and Plini., just...
I'm glad you think so! My own drumming is pretty poor but it gives me an insight as to programming drums (well, the limitations of a real drummer, haha!)
I just try to make sure the drumming isn't boring or stale and mix it up as much as I can. Wasn't sure what actual drummers would think of it but I'm glad it's got your approval :)
ok, who disliked this? Damn... I think your music is some of the best I've heard...
this is amazing, you need to be a famous millionare with song writing talent like that.
two days ago I discovered Sithu Aye... I haven't been able to stop listening to him. I used to play guitar, but i quited because of my job, but I'm starting again. You are such an incredible inspiration!
I can't stop listening to your music daily. Please never stop making music!
If the three of them wrote a song together, it would be the best song ever made.
Very impressive that you pull this off with six strings. Cheers.
Finding your music was one of the best things I've come across on the internet, hands down.
Wow, I guess I'm missing that one for some reason. Ok, thanks man. I've been listening you for a while now and you've been evolving in a very nice way. Keep on with that. Congrats.
i bow down to independent guys like you, bro. Just another reason, theres no need to listen so much mainstream music anymore, when u can feel so much soulfull effort inside this song.
This is probably best music I have ever heard!
This song, arrow+knee and mull are my favourites. The drum programming is the best I've heard for realism, not 100%, but about 96% I'd say. I am very glad to have stumbled upon your bandcamp. Looking forward to the next release. Cheers, from Oz.
still one of my fav tracks from anyone, ever.
Just caught the ‘Sithu lick’ at the beginning of this. I had no idea it’s been around that long, love it
Very long running and still going haha it's actually a Putrucci lick backwards
Dude, you have some real talent. This is some of the best instrumental music I've ever heard, and that's really saying a lot.
It's good to see someone else also understands that you don't have to have an 8 string tuned to drop F to get a djenty, progressive tone. I love your shit dude. Keep it up.
You were at the Meshuggah gig? That was crazy good. Having AAL supporting just put it over the top as well!
I'm not a metal guy, but this shit is off the charts quite literally.
Dude, you're my hero.
For god's sake, I cannot stop listening to your songs.
Very often when I listen to "homerecorded-non-professional" songs like yours, I like it, listen to it sometimes but at some point it starts being boring.
When I listen to one of your songs and it starts being boring, it stops being boring and is awesome instead .... true story
Yeah, they are the stock pickups. But since it's a high end Fender, they are really nice and are made from a samarium cobalt magnet as opposed to alnico so that have a less twangy tone with a more defined midrange than other strats I've played.
And thanks man, glad you like my tunes! I've got a few playthroughs in the pipeline but if I do Multiverse I'm going to do all three of them together!
that lick at :30 is straight off Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Chrono Trigger OST...I love it man. Keep up the awesome music!
Ur music is better than any drug bro! Rock on!
Your music's absolutely amazing dude
From Sardinia, You are my new HERO!!!!! SOUND LIKE PARADISE!!!! Grazie!!!! Carlo!!
You're the best musician and composer ever.
Cheeky riffs incoming at 1:05 :) loving the "Set Course for Andromeda," content too!!
i read this right when it came in!i agree..pretty cheeky
Man I can't believe you don't downpick the first riff. When I heard it I was like this is the tightest downpicked riff ever. I still adhere you recorded it downpicked on Isles.
This song is my favorite of all yours and one of the best i heard. You are for me one of the best guitarist and composer ever known in music story !
4:44 word record of the best groovy emo changing chords
I can never say I stumbled upon your music bro. It's a detailed intricate set of motions that brings my ears to what you do to them. Deliberate.
Great playing, great song, great tone. Fucking great work, man. Also, it's a really nice change to see a video of a guitarist just focusing on playing, and not making silly wincing faces with every note.
You are one of my significant influences musically. I can only aspire to one day compose music both as raw and elegant as this. Your Style is second to none , Sir.
Love that strat twang dude!
Oh my God. This is so good. It's so jammy and ambient. I wish I could play like you. I can't believe how ghetto this video is, too. Damn. This really impressed me.
absolutely perfect, nothing more to say, keep up with this good work
This track has held up really well.
Amazing. I love the way you've put together all your songs. Awesome strat tone too. Where did you get your guitar? Did you put it together yourself?
Drop D. Also, the tab is in the description! :)
I love these songs you come up with sir. I also love the way you play a lot of the riffs in two (or more) octaves.
Awesome stuff
Almost 10 years now!
Dotted 8th note for those clean parts, gives that kind of U2 Edge delay which I love to use!
I'm not sure really, I kind of just record what comes into my head. I guess thinking about the track as a whole and not just individual parts helps!
Great song and such an underrated musician
Thanks man! Super fun to play! The second solo is pretty damn challenging (those taps!)
Simply amazing.
sounds great! we need more!!!
Wow very impressed! Love the style and flow of this. Listened to this many many times.
Cool. Yeah, in mine I just scooped the mids out of the fuzz, and added a little more lows. Just kept the highs in the middle. I have an even amount of distortion (from the amp sim), and fuzz complimenting each other (about 50/50).
So it gives it that growl, and bite that you were talking about. I enjoy your music and plan on supporting you through your future endeavors sir. Awesome job.
That was one fantastic jam. Well done.
1:04 My favorite part from any Sithu Aye song, only rivaled by the last two minutes of Rebirth.
Great stuff!
your compositions are truly beautiful, you are a fantastic guitarist!
That opening riff is delicious.
Absolutely fantastic stuff. Loved the EP entirely but this is definitely my favorite track. Dat 1:30 or so onwards is amazing
You are really talented, man!
I'm listening to your all albums everyday!
I've talked to you quite a lot on gotdjent.com but it's actually the first time I've listened to your music and I am pleasantly surprised. I really love the jazz influence in there, great song
Nevermind, just bought your albums and read the answer in the notes ^^
Keep up the great work!
-a fellow physics student
been practicing a lot last few months i thnk i'm ready to start learning your songs now. i'm super stoked. it's just some of those solo's that are hard eh ahaha. i been doing the john petrucci rock discipline exercises and a few steve vai one's from the steve vai 10 hour guitar workout powertab... that thing is great for a ton of different fingering exercises. very well put together. for anyone wanting to tune their skills up even advanced players both of those are great.
I use an audio interface for input, Guitar Rig 4 for cleans and effects, Lepou LeGion as my distorted ampsim and a couple of Recabinet impulses. I use Superior Drummer 2 for drums :)
Jesus Christ this is beautiful
This is beautiful. The music, the skills, thank you so much for sharing ! :)
So emotional. Lovely.
Fantastic. Loving all of your tunes dude, you're a great musician!
What a treasure! More more!
Praise from #MTL sound alot like Interval love the tone it's what make your playing soooo enjoyable
hey dude just want to say coming across your music is one of the best things to happen to me. you should keep making youtube content. your creations are unbelievable! i love you.
Sithu, as always your songs are catchy and full of emotion, i like it, actually i like all your songs, Skye and Messier Objects are my top favorite songs.
I hope you keep up the good work man, unfortunally i cant get into the SSO chat anymore =/
First time I've heard of you was yesterday when I learned who Plini was, and I am forever a fan of both of you. Your music leaves me better. Music unparalleled. Truly Masterful, creative, and artistic. I will be buying your music! You can count on that! I have a couple questions for you though. When you record these tracks are a lot of your solos just improvisations over your composed backing tracks? Like Guthrie did on Erotic Cakes? Or is everything composed before hand? And lastly, if it is all written and composed, are you coming up with the riffs off the top of your head and translating them to guitar or are you messing around with riffs and actually playing them, then writing them down? Just another musician and composer wondering how you do it. :D
1:06 - one of the best riffs I've ever heard, although I grew up with Liquid Tension Experiment!!! :-)
I'm so impressed in his playing.cheer up^^
Sithu Aye, I am also a 1 man band and I love discovering other 1 man bands because its gives me even more inspiration to keep playing, im not even gonna ask anyone to check out my music because one day everyone will hear it and hopefully like what they hear.
Amazing, amazing, amazing... did I mention this is amazing? Love the riffs and delay effects. Clean tones, distorted tones, all sound great together. Sorry, but this (Skye) is your opus IMO. Maybe your new album will have something better, but I just don't see how you can beat this! It's my favorite, could listen all day... Great job on the video too, nice to see how to play the parts with the delay at 3:59..
siempre es grato escuchar algo que no sea lo que tocan los grandes como petrucci o vai etc etc. tienes una musica fresca, me encanta, felicidades.
saludos desde mexico
Sorry, I don't have anything that does power tab, although I've heard that tuxguitar is free and opens guitar pro files. And if all else fails, there's the pdf file!
This is so EPIC!
Man, more Isles playthroughs please
Love your work and your albums.. well done man.
..will you be doing any tours or live shows any time in the future?
@hahaHAHNNN
they are guitar pro files. Theres a pdf too. He uses plugins on his computer for his sound.
You should keep writing things with 6 string guitars! (so I can learn them without spending tons of money!) :P
Nah man, keep doing what you do; you're awesome! You balance my metal diet like no one else does. XD
If you haven't already, check out Plini, Intervals, David Maxim Micic, Modern Day Babylon, Animals as Leaders, and Pomegranate Tiger. All great metal bands/artists
I run a tubescreamer as a boost pedal in Guitar Rig 4 before the main ampsim on my pc. I set the gain to zero but the tone to the maximum to get a bit of extra bite. That fuzz effect in your chain may well be doing something similar :)
TRUE ARTIST !!!!!!!!!!
Is your music on iTunes or anything? You're honestly amazing and you're the type of musical artist I would actually pay money to support
Thanks for the reply man! I'm not nearly as skilled in writing as you but you and Chimp Spanner inspired me to get a 7 string. Ordered an Ibanez RG827QM the other day!!! Peace on till I have some more questions for you :P
Hey man, you're so genious. I can't stop listening to your songs, please do more) you gave me so much inspiration for creating my rffis\songs, thank you!) can you tell me, what stuff did you use to record this song?what effects?
Very good skills mate. Big time thumbs up ;)
really like your stuffs, tomorrow il will listen only your songs for work : )
continuing in supporting you*

That nod at 4:25. - "Yeah. Fuck yeah."
My friend sent me the link to buy both cassini and the isles ep, one of the best investments i've made this year
Drop D. There's a tab in the description as well!
i really love ur songs they inspire me i constantly listen to double helix over and over again im trying to play good anytips for playing?
Hey man, I just found out about your music and I'm loving it! I was just curious, what kind of equipment do you use for recording and for your guitar tones? And I'm guessing you use a drum program? Just wondering, since I recently got pro tools and I'm trying to figure out what else I would need to make my music sound this clear and well-made :)
Who is this guy? I recognize him not. But got dayum Sithu this is beautiful.
