Lyrics:
Rise - shining blank
Scars burn way down
It parts ways of the
Serpent view - cast
Stones where to stop
Calling you - they all
Lower me to the ground
Stick him - they all
Lower me to the soil
Stick him
Star - reign down
On you
You'll starve
Bright star in the
Dripping sun
Writhe on - saints
Steal from your actions
Step in right on it's
Function - stick him
Star - reign down
On you
You all lower me
Christ's shine blinds
Your world
Your belief is scars
The will to power
Ascension manifest
That which is above
Is as that which is below
Thy will be done
Thy kingdom come
On earth as it is in heaven
So mote it be - Видеоклипы
This is the perfect soundtrack to watching a spider wrap up a moth and carry it away behind my speakers. I should probably dust back there or something.
i was thinking soundtrack to a western. lone gunslinger in the desert, nothing on his mind but revenge. in the intro hes watching his prey from a ridge as they light a campfire and dusk falls. the rest of the song is a bloodbath.
neubrain11 How high were you when you came up with that.
My new favorite comment!
Did you what back there
Generic Name I don’t think he was high, think he literally witnessed it while he listened haha then again he was probably stoned if he sat and watched it happen lmao
This ain't sludge post-metal or doom punk-pre-hardcore or whatever the fuck. It's Neurosis.
asdf! And who gives a fuck about stupid genre names anyway?
+asdf! That's right man. Infact everytime someone says ''slipknot is numetal'' (for example) i get cancer in a few seconds
+matteo d'Angelo yeah you're right fuck genres. it's all pop to me
matteo d'Angelo infact when I read this comment i got cancer in just a few seconds
I was lucky enough to see these guys with Pantera and Clutch like 21 years ago.
Me too. Fuckin epic
Craig Major 😵NICE! That must’ve been right before The Elephant Riders and right after Great Southern Trendkill. I didn’t even know who Neurosis was back then!
That's how I found out about neurosis. Such a sick tour
I saw that tour. Clutch were underrated, Pantera sucked that night, and neurosis KILLED IT.
Fuck yes
You can feel the passion in the songwriting. It's not just heavy for the sake of being heavy. It has an intensity that is rarely rivaled. The passion and intensity remind me of Primordial...not the sound.
This album has been instilled in me since I was young.
Neurosis is one of the most under-acclaimed bands around, yet they have left such an impression on these current gen bands.
one of the most apocalyptic songs ever conceived. full stop.
The older I get, the more I like this kinda stuff....
Through Silver In Blood was the album that made me a metalhead
Jack Brown hi again
The influence they've had of bands like Mastodon, Isis, Baroness, is quite easy to hear. While they may not use the same style or sound, the make up of their songs are very similar in nature. Neurosis is fucking legend.
ISIS ? I guess 13 years ago it wasn't as infamous name as it is now, thanks to the ISIS terrorist group. Funny
Neurosis is just fantastic, sludge metal at it's finest.
Neurosis like Amebix and Swans always pushed the bounderies of music. They are breath of fresh air in a polluted stench of modern mediocre sounds.
nice said:-) i think the (overused) term "unique" really describes this band. i think all the metal peers just had too much respect and didnt even think of copying the sound because they knew they couldnt do it in the first place. its just inspiring music.
you are true music expert
rodoxxs
thank you, sir.
ayyyyyyyyy i love swans
Basically Neurosis in a nutshell: Crass+Amebix+Voivod+Celtic Frost/Hellhammer+Melvins+Die Kreuzen+King Crimson+Swans+Tribal music= Neurosis
one of my favorite bands of all times, intense , bone-chilling and always evolving .
if I died while listening to this guys I wouldn't know it..
Are you dead yet ? And did you die listening to this ?
One of the few bands that's ever been able to truly capture the beauty and the chaos of the universe and convey the energy through their music.
Neurosis and Mastodon.
hav u ever noticed that nobody with a shred of musical intelligence ever criticises neurosis? Their pretty much untouchable at what they do
LEGENDS!
-“Are you lost?"
-“Yes..."
+Spark Blasphemer "...life seems like an inexhaustible well..."
@@Meta_Myself "Because we don't know when we will die, we come to think of life as an inexhaustible well. But everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really.
How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon in your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four, five times more. Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty.
And yet it all seems limitless.”
No, not lost, just taking the tour.

"Hahahaha- what's it like out thereehaha?"
This music video was WAY ahead of it’s time.
Timeless
in 10 years this will be the precedent for hundreds of amazing bands.
this is definitely post-metal, the sound is unlike everything that is fading out of popularity.
How right you were
How’s the 13 years been
How wrong you are
saw Neurosis in 96' with a band called Vomitus from Arizona. memorable show. recommend VOMITUS to anyone who wants to expose their ears to crushing crusty grind.
It’s actually crazy how many bands have ripped this exact sound off holy shit. All of the current hardcore bands are doing almost exactly this lol.
Late 90's ozzfest watched this on VHS was a machine then an still is .. shit slays
WOW, I had no idea there was any official videos for this album. SO freaking awesome. Neurosis are intense. Every day a new band is born that pays hommage to this bands groundbreaking style.
Seen this Band In Chicago with Pantera, the stage show was amazing.Drums went right through you!
All anyone can hope is that anyone their age passes this to their peers.
Choose any album from them. You wont be desapointed. This band is killer
First song that got me into Neurosis. What an absolute banger.
I remember this song from the first Ozzfest CD. I gave the CD to a friend as a parting gift when I left town. It's only now that I realize how rare that CD was. I don't even think she listens to this kind of music anymore...
Same!
These guys don’t own a winery…
RIP Steve Albini.
I saw them in portland around 2015. Best show ive ever seen. They played for 3 hours straight no breaks. Ill never forget it
Neurosis is one of the weirdest bands I've ever listened to (and I mean that in a good way). I have a long commute to college and while I was driving home tonight in the dark and freezing conditions, I listened to the album "Through Silver in Blood" and it gave me the fuckin' chills.
"Heavyness" isn't about the tunning or the lyrics or the damn "scene"...it's about the emotion. That intimate connection, the place or time that it takes you to...Any music that can effect you on that level, wether metal or not, I consider "heavy" + Neurosis does it better than most, if not all the bands out there. And they've been dooing it a long long time now. Always transforming thereselves...Keep on rockin'
this music video blows my mind into a thousand pieces, genius.
I have been listening to this band since about '95, and they are definitely above labels...
For me it was that ozzfest, 98 I think? I heard this song and it stuck with me, been a fan ever since
My favorite Neurosis albums in order are: Enemy of the Sun, Souls at Zero, Through Silver in Blood, Times of Grace.... the rest are good too.
Neurosis is in a league of their own, I've heard nothing comparable. Everything else is pretense.. these guys are visceral.
"STAR !!!! Reign down on youuuuu" !!
pure awesomeness
Pretty heavy
spirit living as music.. very few bands in metal have ever reached this peak.
There are few things I would wish for than a Neurosis tour.
More than 10 years of watching this video. This is definetely not ordinary music. Enjoy the trip.
My first song by these guys. I already know I'm gonna love them
Same, completely blew mind whenci heard it. I know i listened to it at least 7 times the first time ever hearing it, amazing song to say the least.
The soundscapes neurosis invokes are primordial Raw is what they are. A calculated melodic rawness
I had the privilege of seeing these guys many times in the 90's in Charlotte. One of those shows was with BuzzOven @ The Milestone. It was one of the best live shows I was ever at, and the loudest of them all. Neurosis always was amazing live - intense unlike anyone else. The sound with the light and videos really create an experience - and I am talking from a Straight Edge POV. I can't imagine seeing these guys tripping.
Better without drugs
these guys have evolved beyond any metal band i've ever heard.
they keep it interesting no matter what.
What a tune to hear when the world is just falling apart
Neurosis is the sound of the universe collapsing
i saw Neurosis live years ago in Calgary and it f'ing blew my mind. the percussion was absolutely amazing.
THE greatest band of all time.
i must have played this video a thousand times after recording it off headbangers ball. 🤩👍 love it
158 thumbs down .. who are these people giving thumbs down?Catolics? Mormons? Rapper?
When I was working at SFO 10 years ago, I handled Neurosis' instruments & equipment from Icelandair. it was so random \m/
heavy-metal changed forever with this band, just amazing
rare jewel with strong Sabbath influence🔥👏🏻👏🏻
My band just got compared to these guys. I had never heard of them before.
"I'm in love. Wonderfully defiant of easy categorization, you have this seemingly incongruous melodic dissonance that results in a sound that is all your own. You guys are something like the improbable combination of Neurosis and grunge. Fucking awesome."
That's why I am here and holy shit I am glad I am. This band are incredible.
It only gets better from here....
@@nolanbeasinger8555 yeah, it really does man, these guys are awesome. 👽👌
@Celladoor All their 90’s albums are worth owning, particularly Souls at Zero, Enemy of the Sun, and Through Silver in Blood, which is where the song in this video comes from!
@@markness90s13 Thanks for the suggestions man. I have been enjoying these guys. I will definitely give the albums you mentioned a listen.
Is that a humble brag or just a brag?
So grim, so good.
I couldn't figure out to open a granola bar... I turned this song on and picked up scissors.... Thank you Neurosis, this granola bar is delicious.
Granola bar, ...Were you starving or battling a severe case of the munchies? Lol
amazing band, amazing album, amazing song.... ahhh life is good
There is something very primordial about Neurosis.
Neurosis--they bring out the primal beast in all of us.
The best part is that these guys are the sweetest beings on the planet, despite their looks.
My god it's Aaron Turner in the vid! ;)
metalbeast3 Are you sure? I was almost positive it was some weird, rare gg allin footage.
The Was Bunny Lol I know it's not Turner, jk man.
i love this album and also the classic "Word as Law".
HEAVY!
listening to neurosis it's like eating your favorite food full of hot spice. it hurts, but you can't stop eating.
love blasting this record in my neighborhood
This is so fascinating.
dude, sickest neurosis song ever. I love the video of them playing it live
I've been listening to these guys for a little while now, and this is the first time I've SEEN any of their work. Holy Fucking Shit. YES.
simply genial...Neurosis is the greatest prog sludge/post-metal band ever!!!!
Neurosis is the truth - and they put on a seriously dope show -
hearing Enemy of the Sun was the reason I bought my first sampler back 95 or so
I have just been reading an article about mastodon, how they’re recording a new album and how they said that it’s like this band, that band and neurosis. Now neurosis are a band that I’ve heard of for many, many years with lots of bands listing them as an influence and who I’ve meant to check out but never got around to it. I am ashamed by this and wish that I had listened to them sooner because from what I’ve heard I’ve loved.
Same here🤘
They love Neurosis' vocalist to the utmost degree, he does guest vocals on lots of their albums.
Yeah, the Melvins def. is (or was) a huge inspiration for those bands, and they opened up for a lot of new music.
Will never forget the live... that was INTENSE!
This shit is so evil and atmospheric sounding how am i just now discovering this? This is amazing.
I hope to eventually see these gentlemen live to make up for lost time as well as on bands I later lost interest in.
Ryjecie mi beret zawsze hehe pozdro dla wszysztkich :)
Neurosis gave birth to many new bands, including Isis, Mastodon, (probably) Gojira, and more!
Neurosis is geniuses in music.
Perfect soundtrack to New England weather.
Holy SHIT when this came up in a youtube search that I did 5mins ago it had 666,666 views I shit you not!
I thought it was some trick the Relapse channel pulled or something.
What are the odds of that happening to a song with THIS name.
One of the most experimental bands out there! I like!
can someone tell me why not even the actual labels can put their stuff up in good quality?
I’m sorry this is beyond great!
Old Skool bro🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
they're lazy cunts
Not sure where you were in 1996 bruh but we had very low resolutions back then. Anything progressive scan was top of the line. SD on DVD was new and that was 480i.
@@bacongl Exactly, Nothing better than the brutal truth of 480
Great, for sure getting all the albums for this.
I'm not sure about the video, but on its own this song is just incredible. These guys are responsible for some of the very best metal in the last few decades.
I think it conveys confusion and existential anguish pretty well. Agreed on the music though 👍
The poor guy is having a bad trip
Incredible!!!
love the bass
perfect video for a perfect song
at least someone posted this video !
neurosis rules !
FKNG MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!
Magis Dan's Neurosis!
Captivating heavy metal.
Sludge Metal is like slow Post Hardcore as it's a mixture of Hardcore and Doom Metal. Not denying anything you said, but this still sounds more like Sludge Metal than it does like Power Metal.
awebo una de las mejores bandas k e oido en toda mi vida su musica es algo de otro planeta es algo inexplicable
this is as true to metal you can get
Godlike.
Ok.... awesome!!
oh, man, this is great!!! I love it!!
my heart 🖤🖤🖤

i swear this song is so life changing for me I want to get a tattoo of all the symbols in it
I second that !
