You got it, this is so much more than a national anthem -- about so much more than just patriotism. It was written about the Falklands War between the UK and Argentina, and the lyrics tell the sentiments of a soldier dying on the battlefield. I count this as one of Home Free's masterpieces. Their voices, with Adam lending his lovely tenor, are even richer in 5-part harmony. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Your analysis is right oh. Here is what Home Free aid about this song: "When political and other divisions split us, we have to take a step back and remember that we always have more in common with each other than we have that is different. And we need to see all of our fellow human beings as the brothers and sisters we are, so we can live in a more harmonious society ❤"

Great reaction! The second lead singer is Adam Chance Aka Chance ( Baritone/Bass ) This is one of their masterpieces.
Home Free just released 2 Chapters of their Stargazer Trilogy
    Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1)
    Stargazer Lilies (Chapter 2)
They are original songs written by Austin. Give Me A Sign was before he met his girlfriend Amberly and Stargazer Lilies was written for he.They are absolutely beautiful songs

It’s so good! One of my favorites and Home Free masterpieces. It was originally by Dire Straits about the Falklands War in the 80’s. That was guitar driven (and beautiful) and this is voice driven and just as beautiful. Tim and Chance looked ghost like in the windows. Loved the almost black and white video, loved the echoes. Tim is amazing! I subscribed for more Home Free.🥰

Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥

An interesting trivia point of background: Mark Knopfler, the author of the song, had a grandfather fighting on each side during WWII, one British and the other German. So the phrase "we're fools to make war on our brothers in arms" held a very special meaning to him. Great song, wonderful interpretation by Home Free, as usual.

Written by Mark Knopfler in 1982 and released in October 1985, Brothers In Arms is the title track from Dire Straits' album of the same name. The emotion in the original song comes from Mark's voice that practically converses with his guitar. Here, are 5 great artists with Tim Foust being almost inhuman.

Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. This is a Dire Straits song written by Mark Knopfler about the Falkland Islands war between Argentina and the UK. He later said it was a tribute to soldiers who died in war anywhere. This song has caused grown men, including myself, to cry. It's beautiful and sad all at the same time. My dad was at Utah Beach in the WWII Normandy invasion and I have family members who have been in combat in Vietnam. This hits in the heartstrings really hard. IMHO it's even more powerful than Mark's original version because of this presentation.

Before I became really immersed in a cappella, if you had told me that 5 guys singing 'ahs' and 'oohs' and 'hmmms' could bring me to tears... I'd have laughed. I don't laugh any more. This particular song combines really serious, soul-searching emotion with somber, mournful vibes, and produces such extraordinary harmonies that is simply breathtaking. You mentioned the 'national anthem... and the one world many worlds... I think this would be the 'One World" anthem. It applies to all, regardless of nation. It's impossible for me to pick my "favorite a cappella song,' but this is definitely a contender! I'm thrilled that you two have been 'bitten' by the a cappella bug. Just remember... the BEST a cappella group and best a cappella song... is the one you are listening to at that moment. Great reaction! You really "get" the depth of artisanship we witness with this performance. Keep it up!! I'll follow you anywhere!! 😉

One more HF reaction ("American Pie"? "Elvira"? "Listen to the Music"?) and you'll have the Home Fries' green light for "Mayday!" To appreciate fully their cover of this excellent song, you must be thoroughly familiar with the guys and their voices. You've heard solos from the 4 lead vocalists, and plenty of Adam Rupp's amazing percussion and instrumental effects. Before listening to HF's cover ( ruclips.net/video/znoV5gND9g0/видео.html ), it's a good ideal to listen to the original ( ruclips.net/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/видео.html ) performed by the female country vocalist Cam (Camaron Marvel Ochs.)
