Yo yo yo yo Sam’s Movies Is bACK ~ hasn’t been that long has it!? Like 9 and 3/4 months. That’s nothing… I have snail fungus.
    The Greatest Sports Win Ever?
It’s Steven Bradbury’s legendary career I’m talking about today on the channel. An inspirational story about how determination and hard work can deliver good people the most unlikely success you could ever imagine!
In my eyes this is the greatest sports win in history as it embodies everything a sporting win should have. An amazing comeback story and a fantastic human being who had been through just about everything including coming close to death!
Steven Bradbury is a true inspiration and I hope you enjoyed my retelling of his amazing story from his entire career and that famous 2002 Salt Lake City winter games he experienced.
Other projects I have been working on this year!

I know! It’s ridiculous how long it has been… it’s my biggest writers/editors/creators block I’ve ever experienced from anything I’ve done however I can confirm that for a good 8 and 1/2 months I was completely sick of RUclips and making content. However I got stuck into this at the very beginning of this month and all up including writing, recording and editing this took over 50 hours to make!!
The difference between this hiatus and other past breaks on my channel was that I knew exactly what I was going to release when I returned and now here it is! I do apologise though if anybody actually for some reason missed my videos.
I could never get my head around people missing my content… more videos coming down the pipeline in the back end of 2022 as well as some lOL funny videos on the inebriated individuals channel!!
Warning!! ⚠️ SPoiLeR!!! This Is the description for a compilation of steven's greatest moments from salt lake city that I uploaded many months ago to another channel. This isn't mentioned in the video... I thought it was kinda well written so I decided to include it here:
In the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, Steven Bradbury was literally the ‘last man standing’ when in the final of the men’s short track speed skating 1000 metres event, every competitor other than him collided and fell over on the last turn as they were trying to overtake one another. Bradbury’s genius tactic to stick at the back and hope for collisions worked and he sailed through for the gold. In the nature of the sport, Bradbury was declared Gold Medallist and Olympic champion. The phrase ‘doing a Bradbury’ became forever etched in Australian sporting folklore after this historic triumph. Steven looked to be the smartest skater out there, as he recognised the possibility for collisions in the final, little did he know though, the whole field would fall over giving him the win. In the lead up to these games, Bradbury had suffered horrific injuries, a broken neck from colliding with a barrier, meaning his head was in a neck brace for quite a while. He also lost several letres of blood when another skaters’ skate tore his thigh open. So it was about bloody time this guy deserved a damn break and he got more than just a break, he got a place in sporting history. He went on to release an autobiography titled: “Last Man Standing”. What a legend.

I do greatly appreciate everybody who uploaded these as I would have had no hope in making this video without all of this footage so thank you!! Also I apologise I didn’t credit these sources throughout the video. The video simply would have been just full of text ok the bottom of the screen and I was trying to have as little of that as possible.

He got his leg cut 99% in half, his spine broken, and this man still didnt give up. He earned his win 100%, and the mans a damn hero! Great video! I like the documentary styling!

Cheers Flaya. I made this during august last year and it’s my personal favourite video I’ve ever made in 8 years on RUclips. I’m glad you enjoyed it too. It’s one of those stories that just makes me pinch myself. He really had to deal with everything that could possibly go wrong. Just unreal that this actually happened. He’s an absolute legend.

@@thelostmediapodcast Yea and thankfully he ended up living a great life after! I always worry hearing stories start like this one did because my faith in people has been tainted, but this was a solid wholesome breath of fresh air!

Bradbury is an absolute champion and the personification of someone who never gives up despite the odds being heavily stacked against him.
I had a bit of a giggle that his number in the final was "300" though!

Damn! This is a wild ass story! The dude had his leg almost cut off, almost paralyzed, but STILL got that gold medal. Despite the conditions and circumstances, dude earned it. What a legend

    This is ten percent luck
    Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
    Five percent pleasure
    Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember his name

    • @thelostmediapodcast
      @thelostmediapodcast  5 месяцев назад

He doesn't need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else, alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But fuck 'em, he knows the code, it's not about the salary
It's about reality and making some noise
Making a story, making sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down, Tak's pickin' it up

People say he wasn't the best in that race but if you can't even stay on your feet how can you be the best?
He was the best on the day it counted and that's all that matters.

This is not the luckiest medal ever its the smartest medal ever! He was the hardest worker, who used a very smart strategy to try to get a medal among younger/faster scaters.

  • @fortniteking8531
    @fortniteking8531 9 месяцев назад +2

What luck ! it was all a carefully planned strategy to take advantage of the other skaters form. Coolest thing was watching them bitch & complain after the race and wanting a do-over.

Wasn't Bradburys fault that all the other racers took each other out, he wasn't involved in that. But he was first across the line, and that's a Gold medal
