I didn’t think Sparg0 had exploitable patterns. If MKLeo couldn’t find them, I didn’t think anyone would. But Hurt consistently knew where Sparg0 was going to be.
Sparg0 often likes to roll behind his opponents to reclaim position on center stage - Hurt is incredibly good at scouting those options and covering them. Aside from that, Sparg0 likes to spend a lot of time in the air to bait options - it's part of Cloud's gameplan. Hurt caught on to the times when Sparg0 attempted to space away and chased him with Snake's aerials. It helps that Snake's aerials come out faster than most of Cloud's.
As a link main I feel Hurt wasn't reading where Spargo was going to be but was instead using what zoner characters like Snake have. It's a technique I like to call forcing / the Force. If you watch where Hurt placed his mines + grenades he was covering the areas Spargo wanted to go + by using his positioning with Snake he would consistently force Spargo into bad positioning. Mastering how to force an opponent into a situation is imo the true power of a zoner character. Not just spamming their zoning tools. Incredible incredible play by Hurt and seriously great effort from Spargo. Fantastic set
In my opinion it is not that Hurt knew where Spargo was going to be. For me it is that Hurt sets up Spargo 90% of the time and Spargo fell into that set up pretty much always. It is difficult for anyone not only for Spargo. Spargo always chose the only free option for not taking damage or the least damage but Hurt was already waiting there in position.

I think this is one of Spargo's biggest problems in general, as a hater. If he's losing a set he feels he SHOULD be winning, he plays tilted, but if he actually sees it as a serious threat, he plays mad and goes in. This looked like playing on tilt to me, to a lesser degree than some other sets, but still such. He also lost to Hurt in crews in Snake/Cloud, it's not like it was Greninja/Plant or something, he should have already expected it to have been difficult. On the opposite side, I think Hurt reeled it in hard from winners' finals. He got really trigger happy that last stock; he thought he had already won and almost got punished for it, but barely squeaked out. He played games 2-4 of grands the same way he played up to his last stock in winners finals, rather than fishing really hard and potentially resulting in a snowball that could have eventually cost him the tournament. I'm glad he took the sets between to regain his composure and played slower in grands, this was a fun watch, and I hope he keeps popping off like this, Snake is fun to watch.

14:53 Sparg0 had it, just back air into going off the stage + forward air should've taken Hurts sypher armor and spiked him to death
18:45 😍
When's the last time Spargo got 3-0d? Kagaribi?
By best samus yaura?
Light 3-0d him at WTT
Here’s a better question: when was the last time he got double eliminated by a Japanese player? He’s notoriously dominant against them so for him to be wiped out twice by the same guy is insane. I wonder if Hurt will be a bracket demon or if Sparg0 will adapt and kick him around next time
Honestly if I’m sparg0 after that winners finals I’m calling Marss to ask for advice if possible, no one is better at snake matchup than Marss
zackray as well
Hurt convincingly took this whole tournament as expected. NA wast ready for this level of snake. Only TG posed a challenge in this entire tournie
21:45 - why are these smash tourneys sending winners to the french dimension? (The lighting is not good)
Can someone tell me the name of the soundtrack of the first battle?
ハートさんって太った春日に見えるんだよな
いい意味でも悪い意味でもなく春日的な意味で
二試合目のソニックの曲かっこいい
Who was first seed at this tournament?
sonix
he lost to the plane
Plane 3-0 Sonix
3試合目からの怒涛の切り崩し方がいい
the 5th horseman
Ggs Hurt. It's sparg0ver
19:29 bro charge limit and up b out of there WTF??
Cloud is way to immobile when charging limit that’s a free side b anyway
He gave up
@@patricknguyen4045nah, he was a few frames of limit away and out of hitstun when he has over the stage, he could've charged limit
if nikita didn't hit and spargo didn't charge, he wouldn't have reached anyways
@@luisnevarezctrs4694 nah it wouldn’t work he literally is so immobile when charging limit he just goes in one direction free Nikita and also even if he somehow managed to do it you do know how snakes Nikita works right? If you hit it with clouds up b hit box it trades and he dies anyway at best
As a cloud player that amount of limit takes longer to charge than you think. It was checkmate already
ハート最強‼️
It says something about how free NA is when a guy who cant win majors in japan comes over and easily gets his first win against the best guy in NA 😅
You're discrediting these players skills man when you can't even stand in the shadow of these guys
Not even some of the best players in the world have won shit in Japan. What’s your excuse then?
That look like it hurts
Spargo debe jugar mas con Alandiss
no cap, i play young link and usually its 50/50 for me when playing against. Sometimes i destroy snake but damn after watching hurt, this a whole another level ! Congrats to both
Let’s go Hurt
This playlist is unwatchable. Is it seriously so hard to put the videos in order?
I honestly feel that so fucking hard. Sometimes when i cant watch the tournament live i wanna be able to just start the playlist and just watch it unfold but no. Sometimes when im scrolling through playlist i see grand finals like 6 videos from the bottom im just like wtf
Hurt the best snake?
Who eliminated Mkleo?
Toriguri and Ron
Japan
That is why Snake is Top 4, broken character
@TreyMM-qz4wg how could it be nonsense when the official tier list has him at number 4, at the same time is the character with most top reps in the top 100 players, he is broken bruv.
@@patopaez2763even appollokage thinks snake is broken
@TreyMM-qz4wgnah even apollokage thinks snake is a top 5 character. That doesn’t mean that hurt is carried. Being a top tier character means that they’re overwhelmingly powerful if a player has the skill to utilize the character to their fullest potential. Hurt proves that he has that skill, and he’s the best snake player by far.
@TreyMM-qz4wgThe only nonsense is thinking that Snake is hype. Grenades go vrooooom! C4 go booooooom!
Does anyone know the name of the song in the credits? 28:15
All-Star Rest Area from Smash 4
@@Anthon1996 Thanks
spargo needs a better secondary!!! But he almost had that 😮
lets go hurt
BEEP BEEP
Snake is so unbelievably lame and campy, doesn’t take away from the raw talent hurt has. Ggs to him but this was painful to watch.
Hurt uses his movement to back up his bomb interruptions, every time Sparg0 starts to go insane, one bomb from no where stops his game plan and messes up his position
@@陳嘉宇-y4q yes he’s an incredible player!!! Super fascinating and greatly developed snake. The character just does not suite my style nor is fun for me to watch personally:)
@@jacobritz4054 Hurt is playing Snake to its full strength here, playing 4D chess and laying in the backseat when Sparg0 struggles. Though if Sparg0 didn't go aggro during that last stock, one more game and Sparg0 will take it
You prefer cloud the back air spammer?
@TreyMM-qz4wgyou’re so clueless it’s embarrassing
i hate what competitive smash is becomming... Sonix camping for 7 minutes per games dabuz never engaging a fight and now a grenade show ... I get why ppl say smash isn't a real fighting game now.. Nobody is fighting...
Stop your bitching lol. That’s only a few players and Hurt is the only snake worth a shit since none of the other ones have done anything since ally
guarantee spargo aint letting hurt win against him ever again lol
hurt about to get zacharyied lmfao
Hurt is just so amazing ✨🥹
Hell yeah brother.
