As someone with 7 Lumix cameras, the off-brand batteries have been the least reliable. I go with all Lumix batteries, except for external power. If doing lots of video projects, external power (via dummy battery) is the way to go. I don't have the exact camera you have but I do have the GH5 (original), GH5s, and GH6. Just some friendly tips from a fellow Lumix user. Hope you like it. I love mine and have no plan to switch brands.
Edit: It looks like you're just getting started. Just have fun with what you have (including batteries) and learn what your current setup can do before adding more. It can turn into a rabbit hole. It's a decent start kit. Have fun with it. Ignore the trolls, there is some good info to be found on RUclips. Don't waste energy on people who aren't actually sharing anything useful.

I use knock off batteries for 7 yeara. Wasabi is amazing.
Congrats on the new camera. For future reference, "body only" means no lens. New camera bodies always ship with a battery and a charger, and usually a strap.

This is a great camera and fantastic to level up and grow with video shooting! I'm primarily photography so I shoot on Olympus but luckily the E-M1X Olympus has a LOG format to shoot on. Enjoy!
I wouldn't recommend shooting Log in 8bit.

the camera is yours, so i hope you can answer some questions. i also want to buy it. i don't know how big i should buy the memory card. can you tell me how many MB a video in 4k/30fps has? xxxMB/minute? and can you connect an external ssd hard drive to the camera and transfer the data/videos directly from the camera to the hard drive? would be cool if you could help me. i don't want to be on vacation and all the memory cards are full and i have to delete something because i don't have enough. the worst nightmare.
hello! i'll do my best to help you out! i typically just record in 1080p so i don't have personal experience filming in 4k on this camera yet, but 4k video does take up quite a bit of space. i did a quick google search and found that a video in 4k/30fps typically takes up 450MB per minute... as for the SSD compatibility, i haven't tried or looked into this since i don't have problems with storage filming in HD, but check out this link: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1699693-REG/panasonic_lumix_gh5_ii_mirrorless.html/overview it's this camera sold on B&H and it looks like you may be able to get an adapter to use SSD minis. not sure how many hours of video you're expecting to record, but there are SD cards with hundreds of GB of storage and some with 1000+ GB, so i'd expect that to be plenty even when filming everything in 4k. hope this was helpful!
@@rachelmariemov Yes, I googled it too. But it sometimes said several GB per minute. You misunderstood the SSD thing. I mean that I record a video, it is saved on the memory card and then I can transfer the data from the memory card to an SSD directly on the camera?
4k video doesnt take much space at 40mb/sec. 250mb/sec uses much more space. Bitrate
