- It's time to look into the long forgotten InterActual Player, a DVD playback program from the late 1990s to early 2000s that most of the major movie studios used to access bonus video games and online content!

My favorite was the Austin Powers Goldmember DVD. If you put it into your PC, you could choose a game where you overdub scenes from the movie. My family and I would lose our minds with laughter, because while they gave you the script, you didn't have to follow it.
I guess you could say we were doing "bad lip readings" before RUclips even existed.
revoice studio
this is related but kind of unrelated but i swear i used to have a dvd of open season and it had a "game" function that let you shoot like rabbits at the screen or something. perchance.
notice how nobody responded to your shitty little perchance joke
i use to experience DVD-ROM PC friendly features like this in 2003-2004
dancing scooby is so cool
The Learning Company had some awesome games back in the day!! Would love to see a video on them. Love your style!!
I never got to experience DVD-ROM even though most of the DVDs I had supported it. The first time I finally got to see what it was was like was a few years ago when I tried it on a "Barbie as the Island Princess" dvd I found at a thrift store. It was just printable activities themed around throwing a sing along party, so they were just cutouts and song lyrics.
I feel vindicated that someone finally talked about the learning company Scooby Doo games
my dvds of spirit and shrek have the interactual player on them, but they dont work anymore. i legitimately can’t even play them as regular dvds even through vlc 💀
The Pokémon 2000 dvd had this it had one of those weird cases too when you had to press it to close it and it have some weird tab on it like the scooby doo case you have I have that Harry Potter dvd somewhere I should look for it
Watching Jargungis drunk in 2024, we out here
Matthew lilard does such a good job as shaggy
The Barnyard DVD has interactual player, and some flash games.
The first dvd I remember this working for was for the SpongeBob movie. It didn’t even have that much exclusive content. Just a demo for the point and click pc game of the movie.
JARGUNGIS TIME JARGUNGIS TIME JARGUNGIS TIME
My Spider-Man 2002 DVD had this. If you put in Disc 2 it would give you a PC Demo of the Spider-Man game that gave you a level and a boss fight (that somehow BSOD'd my PC) but yea it was fun. I later got it for Original xbox and beaten it and speaking of xbox there were a few DVDs with Xbox demos of the games based on the movies themselves like Hulk 2003 and Robots 2005 and battlefront II in the DVD for Star Wars III: Revenge of the sith.
Kinda makes me wonder if there were DVDs that included PC-only features... but didn't advertise them, instead being a secret that you can ONLY find out about by putting it in the PC & clicking on a tiny pixel in some random menu.
First video of yours I found! It’s great! New subscriber :3 I was born in 2002 and this shit is so nostalgic
Dancing Scooby is so precious.
Good video
Mannnn I remember being a youngin and being SO annoyed that I could never get the DVD-Rom for Spider-Man 1 to work. I had no idea you had to actually download software specifically for it, I thought our computer just wasn’t good enough it run it. I only ever saw it in person last year when we ran it on my girlfriend’s older desktop and I flipped out lmao
I actually do remember this!
Popping in after 29 views and 29 minutes

I really never heard of this Hoot movie until now

The file:/// urls are accessing files on the computer or other drives, such as the DVD drive
I guess the file is not on the DVD or something
I have a Shrek DVD, and I tried so hard to get the interactual special features working (My PC has a DVD-RW drive), installing a windows xp virtual machine, installing an application that attempts to emulate hardware dvd encoders, updating the interactual player, nothing worked, but I did get a neighbour’s old Windows XP pc, but it’s missing RAM, but i may try Shrek on it
I remember InterActual
When i tried installing interactual on a windows 7 computer 10 years ago it just blue screened the system...
ngl, we need to bring back desktop dancers and other cute tat like that
pink flamingos also had this feature on its dvd

Born in 2001!? Damn, I feel like a grandpa now.
Wow, this is such a hidden gem! How does it have so few likes! Oh, also, you can get it working on a modern PC if you buy Microsoft's overpriced Windows DVD Player or any of its free alternatives.
