This was such a cool video! I picked up a portable VHS player of my own recently! The Movie Walker Portable VCR, mine has the added prestige of having been a Blockbuster rental unit. It is very portable for what it is and has a very nice carrying handle. It doesn't come with a screen, it is just the VCR unit, however, that's actually kind of ideal for me as I have a modular synth setup I use for scoring work and sound design which makes use of an AV display unit called a Telewizor by a maker called Razmasynth.

This is a great and well put together video, I was shocked when I saw how subs this channel has. Well it has one more now. Reminds me of Cathode Ray Dude with the dive into weirdly impressive obsolete tech that didn't really have a market even when it came out. But this has its own style of course.

Wooly Willy was made in Smethport PA, I know the inventors granddaughter. I always think of her tho when I see one. I too enjoyed those as a kid on road trips before I knew her.

the external monitor port looks like an s-video plug; consider a follow-up video testing the pin-out, and potentially attaching external monitors like you'd often see strapped to the back of headrests. if it is in fact s-video, or an appropriate cable can be built I'd be curious to see how many external monitors could be attached at once.

Mounting this to a wall may be a good home solution.
