What I truly love about this episode is that when Pinkie doesn't jump to conclusions in the beginning. Especially from season 2. Even if she is a little off, at least she actually made an attempt to figure it out this time. I'm glad she learned that lesson in the "Mmmmystery" episode.

I think Applejack's in the episode as a joke. Being that the lesson is you can always tell me the truth, and if she'd had a better idea of what was going on the whole issue would probably have been resolved years ago. Basically applejack is here to mock all episodes like this one where everything gets blown way out of proportion when there's a simple solution. And frankly that's funniest joke of the episode to me.
This episode was freaking hilarious. Pinkie Pie's crazy facial expressions always make me laugh. Rainbow Dash didn't want to hurt Pinkie Pie's feelings

I'll answer like this:
It was some time since i saw Pinkie Pie done entirely correct (when a writer left, i'm bad at names), but finally i see that at least one of the new ones knows how she ticks.
Essentially, he's _really_ good, or even Great! at describing ALL the characters i've seen him touch thus far.
In order.
Pure, freaking WIN!
Not bad, but has issues.

he does great character stuff... but does seem to have issues making the morals fit in naturally with what's going on and getting them out in a way that feels natural and works well.
I don't have much to say on any of the episodes except that they were okay.
I really like them. Maybe he made Dash's parents a little too exaggerated, but you could tell there was a lot of fun making these episodes. This one is one of the funniest episodes in a long time where the whole thing front to back was jokes.
1. I’m glad to see rainbow’s parents. The episode does have its moments and I didn’t hate this episode, but I thought that episode was just really mediocre. I felt like it just could’ve been better.
2. I honestly don’t have that much to say about this episode. It was kind of a boring episode tbh. Saw where it was going from a mile a way.
3. Kind of the same thing like the second one, except that it was a small and fun episode.
So far he’s doing ok in my book.

I wonder if Pinkie's daydream about Rainbow shooting lasers is a nod to Derpy Wants Muffins. It's about the Cakes being out of muffins, and Derpy goes crazy, shooting laser eyes after Bulk eats the last muffin, its an great piece of fan animation XD

6:09 I find it funny and ironic that, considering party planning cave is a reference to Batman, Pinkie's character is like a mix between batman and joker in this episode. (She's investigating and sneaking around, which is what Batman often do, but also have a lot of crazy moments).
Long story short. Pinkie-Joker with Party Planning Cave is the funniest Batman.
Nightmare Dash is such a good idea of name for her vilain self though,nice job

And while it's not among my top 8, it IS close.
31:18 It's one of her flaws, yes she can be blunt some times but sometimes she doesn't want to hurt her friends feelings. The most blunt we have seen her is in the earlier seasons. So she has changed considerably.
Not usually one to poke fun at this, but Pinkie did just say "my pies are her favorite!" when talking about Rainbow Dash, and "seeing you eat my pie makes me happy". One only needs to know their Urban Dictionary to get what I'm saying.
FiM has had a bunch of dialogue/visual moments like this, even from the very first season up till now.

This was a GREAT episode. It is a back to the roots-like thing, meaning (like season 1 - 2) having a simple but highly entertaining story. ^_^
I love this episode because not too long ago I started shipping Pinkie and Rainbow Dash, because they're the one ship that I actually see happening. The fact that they both went through trouble to do something just to see each other happy because it made them happy was just so sweet and made me ship them more!
Edit: Oh, I also love the reference to "Party of One" Always great to see references like that, especially all the way back to season 1, and one of the best episodes at that.
Throughout the whole episode I was wondering why Dash didn't tell her the truth until the end with the big hug it made me think. Would Pinkie deny that Dash hates pies?
Pies are one things. Hugs are an entirely different matter. 😊

Pinkie is an expert hugger, she know she hugs are just right. It's not her hugs that are too tight, it's everypony elses hugs are to loose.
Well, in a follow up comic, Pinkie spends a whole day trying to get Dash to try pies but then she learns the lesson that everyone has different tastes and she stops being a Pinkie Pie and becomes chill.

5:53 - Seeing Gummy here reminds me; I recently learned that for a short time there was a comic book called "Royal Roy" (another comic company's answer to Richie Rich) in which Prince Roy had a pet alligator - quite a bit larger than Pinkie's - named... *Gummy!*
Has anyone seen the new movie? Did you notice we actually never see Tempest's cutie mark? We don't see it either in the comic book they pre-released as an introduction to the new characters. Could it be she doesn't have one because her horn was broken!?! She's so frantic about her quest because her destiny was taken away from her!
I had thought that this one would go along the route of Pinkie being obsessed with finding the truth and exposing Dash's lies would cause her to care more about that goal than trying to reconcile with her friend or anything else. Even though it went on a slightly different path, I was overall pleased with the episode. =3 Plus your reactions are priceless! XD Fun stuff. ^^

Problem is, its very hard to think of any lesson she could teach another pony that is not already covered by the others.
it doesn't have to be a lesson. it could be showing guidance to a pony ,in a task that RD is skilled in. or situation she's been through/in
The only pony I can think of her teaching anything to is Scotaloo. I could have sworn we've seen her do that. Or have we yet to see that?
Wait, I got it? How about that one in season 4, Rainbow Falls ? And Wonderbolts Acedemy from Season 3. Or Griffin the Brush off from Season 1. Top Bolt and Stranger Than Fan Fiction in season 6.

All in all, I wouldn't call this episode a homerun, but it's definitely been one my favourites in a while. The last few stories were good, but something about them just didn't seem to click for me. Here, however, I was entertained throughout. The story was simple, the moral was relatable and Pinkie Pie's antics - well, they were just as funny as ever. We only have one story left before the big finale. Let's see what they have in store for us.

Hah. The one person who could have REALLY told Pinkie about RD and what sort of food she likes is RD's mother. She didn't get interviewed here... Looks like there is one Pie RD likes (but not to eat) and that's Pinkie Pie... you just don't eat your friends, right? That nastiness? Mud Pie? We made that sort of things as children but never ate them. (If RD did, well...)
I think you're right that it harkens back to the kid level lessons of the earlier seasons. This reminded me of 'The Cart Before The Ponies,' but here they got the formula right.
When I watched this I kept thinking RD didn't want pies because she wanted to stay in shape or something. I didn't expect it was possible to categorically dislike all pies completely! Maybe some flavors, but just pies in general? Seems hard to believe...

I don't care much for pies, I like cakes more myself. I think it's the crust I don't care for. I'll eat peanut butter pie and other pies like that where the crust taste better, so it could be the same for Rainbow. Maybe she doesn't hate all pies, but the pies that Pinkie gave her had crust that wasn't very good for her personally. Who knows.
Huh, so I guess it IS possible. Well, just another drop in the ocean of things I can't relate to Rainbow Dash about :>

I had pretty much the same exact reaction to that ... pie? (it looks like some kind of unholy abomination who has only heard of the concept of pie, but has no earthly or otherworldly idea what a pie actually is, a twisted reflection, a horrific perversion of everything that pie stands for, a steaming moldy tin of death and decay masquerading as a pie)
