Cold War History in Battery Park

From 1961 to 1989 The Berlin Wall separated the republics of the west from the authoritarianism of the east.
Berlin (Germany) itself was divided into sectors that represented the political status of the allies at the end pf World War 2.
Now, that wall is in pieces and a symbol of the political turmoil that marked the decades after the war can only bee seen as a relic and a reminder of oppression and inhumanity.
