  • It's difficult to believe that E 107th St and 5th have was once miles outside New York City and that an area of Central Park was once advantageous high ground used by both the British and Americans used for the defense of New York City.
The Fort Clinton part of Central Park - in the North Woods - is testament to the military history of New York City. It once had an amazing view of The Bronx, the East River, and the Long Island Sound. The perfect spot to see oncoming troops or ships.
Fort Clinton is now a quiet spot for relaxation and enjoyment.

    Great video!
What is that oddly shaped builiding behind your head from 1:10? A gray/beige building with a central tower and different wings.

Thanks for your comment. That building is one of the many hospital buildings on the upper east side. But, why it’s so unique? I don’t know.
