This is the most beautiful song I've heard in a long time. It perfectly captures vulnerability and honesty and the complexity of these lives we live and relationships we navigate. I hope if somehow Aldous ever reads these comments she knows how much that honesty is appreciated and how badass her music is!!

"I do not have the answer." When Miss Harding sings that specific line with sudden, unexpected, bewitching and truly eerie grace, the hairs on the back of my neck prickle while my eyes begin to well up. Convention has been twisted out of shape. An achingly beautiful narrative upon jaded melancholic reflection.
There's so many layers of subtlety to this song. It's like a different song every time I listen to it.
She reserves her vocal power then creates an emotional highlight on this very fine ballad.
The music video is brilliantly understated. No grandstanding. Just enough singing of the words. Manages to get great presence out of the performer. A big clap for the director doing magic work on a shoestring.

My father would be in this case Nick Cave. Also there's Florence Welch from Florence & The Machine, she is like a Mixture of Aldous Harding and Kate Bush. She should be my sister.

Yeah the first time I heard it I was like “whoa that came of nowhere”. I was outside and I looked around thinking someone was trying to get my attention lol!
I believe Ivo would have approved of this 4AD signing. When I come across an act like this I almost cry. In the 80’s and 90’s I knew I could buy anything on 4AD, and not be disappointed. Since Ivo left; not so much.
Aldous, The National, The Breeders (yes!), Scott Walker, big thief, pixx, Velvet Negroni (the new AR Kane?) and, maybe, Grimes are the true heirs of the great 4AD past, specially The National, Big Thief and Aldous Harding. There is a lot trash on 4AD these days (us girls, turn yards, liima, etc). I really don't know what to think about Holly Herndon (an oddity, that's for sure). 4AD is really big today. Almost all of its releases goes to UK official charts (and, sometimes, us charts). 4AD and Matador and XL are under the same umbrella today (Beggar's Group). So, in practical terms, Adele, underground American acts and Aldous Harding are all in the same boat. A rich one. 4AD is now a very lucrative business. The days of the artsy fartsy (like Robin Guthrie from Cocteau Twins said a certain time) are definitely in the past. We don't have Factory and Creation anymore. And BMG is considered indie in UK. VERY different times, anyway...
One of my favorite albums for 2017 and I love the vocal range in different parts of the song.
She is so beautiful. Same class as Sofia Coppola, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and other ladies in the league of effortless beauty.

The musicians are obviously quality also. Her music does help me feel less agitated i.e. more relaxed & this is good. She seems as though there would be few dull moments such as with the cowgirl vid. There is a wonderful uniqueness for sure.
