Followed your instructions and it saved me thousands of dollars. Thanks man. My issue was loss of power , maximum 3000 rpm and barely making to 40 mph , was unable to drive on Hwy s lol. So just two bottles and it cleaned it. And btw I did just hold pedal on 3000 rpm for 20 min without computer, but I bought this Icarsoft one it arrives next week.

I suggest taking dpf off car.Use one or two rubber gloves and plastic tie to seal front DPF.
Use some Dpf cleaner,i used Wynns 5l.
Left soaking overnight,sometimes gently moved the Dpf.Next day I emptied dirt,used fresh dpf cleaner again,used tap hot water to take that dirt out of dpf then i used Work Hydroshot from both sides hot water jet.The result was amazing.A lot of dirt came out DPF.
HOWEVER,my real problem was broken bolt from intake manifold.Resetting Dpf again and again didn't work.I performed a pressure test on intake and I heard air leak from intake manifold.
I replaced the manifold and all good since.No engine light again.
When I reset P2279 for Air intake leak and P2463 for DPF soot 400%.Somehow P2279 didn't came back but actually that was my problem.
Never trust scan tool when gives you values like DPF soot accumulation 400% or 350%.That's is false value and send you in wrong direction.

@@victoravila8164 Exhaust turbocharger-next it's the catalytic converter-then DPF(diesel particulate filter).Most Mercedes in Uk have catalytic converter separately.In other countries(left hand drive) catalytic converter and DPF is one unit.Search on Google to find some pictures.

I have 2009s with 140k plus miles, DPFs have not stopped up yet. That code that is in your van is because the van isn't doing a complete regen on its own. To do a manual regen you need a snap on solus and or the xentry connect by Mercedes. But if your DPF is truly clogged up, look into the BG products. I've been using there stuff for the last 2 years. They just released there DPF cleaning machine.
really helpful video thanks mate. After flashing up the DIY spray unit over 2 years ago, I have finally gotten to use it. We've been experiencing the "flashing" engine light and error codes P242F, 2080 and P2BAC more frequently recently, so got the job done today. Heaps of smoke out the exhaust running at 2,500 RPM which signals to me the Liquid Moli has done the trick successfully. The only thing that needs doing is clearing the codes, but I'm very unsure as to whether our device (OBD2 CarScanner) is going to be capable of doing that. We'll see. Hopeful that's the case, as I want to avoid having to take it into a Mercedes dealer, as I know that they're going to charge like a wounded bull!

The factory manual says that if you do short trips , take your sprinter on a freeway for at least 15 min once a week so the van could do a regeneration cycle.
At about 10k I had the same thing happened to me as far as the rpms go up and check engine light go on . Freeway driving dropped the rpms down without manually cleaning it with a cleaner and perch. And then a guy at our warehouse reset the check engine light by using just sprinter on board computer( I beleive there is a video on youtube on how to do this).
Another very important thing is the fuel you put in. Some gas station dont have a lot of diesel vehicles come thru , so the fuel is not"fresh" . Since that 10k indecent I fuel up only at stations where they have a lot of semi trucks go thru so the diesel gets filled up daily.
Right now I am at 93k and have not had any problems with the exhaust yet.
Andrey Tymchuk yes I agree that's why FedEx and UPS Sprinter break down a lot because they don't run it on high speed and it also helps if you tow a boat or a trailer it helps the degeneration to be better because the higher RPMs

After doing this, make sure u change the sensor then go to the highway and drive it rough meaning speedy so it will sneeze out all the junks, etc. Sprinters are not made for the city after this DEF added to the US Benz, so u must drive your Sprinter full speed once a week at least on the highway.
you are so right Tom that is why UPS driver had huge problems with the DEF systems, im not a big fan of it
The temps shown on you IR reader are far below where they should be when doing a forced regen. The temps should be around 1400*F at the end of the regen, as whould be displayed from the DPF temp sensor data streem when connected to a Star diag. tool or similar.

@@popparock6506 DAS/Xentry. The process is very DANGEROUS because of the high fire risk. Better force regeneration while driving.
If ya look closely, the DPF has actually been straight-piped to the muffler.

i don't know about Bluetooth cap but your van computer will alert you wen you need to clean it

is a refrigeration cooper pipe and i dont remember the size buddy and yes you can run it in the highway is better👍

I'm pretty sure on my 2007 the DPF is the second canister on the exhaust line, which would make the thing he's spraying into here the catalytic converter....But the van in the vid is a newer model. On the 2007 however it goes engine > cat converter > dpf > muffler > atmosphere. please correct me if i'm wrong.
Peter Lansdale yes this is a 2014 model do you looking at and most likely the design has changed so I think you're right on yours
On my 2010 the first canister is Catalytic converter, 2nd set of two are the partic. filters. You can't clean up catalytic converter, when is backed have to be replace.

the newer model has a dpf and cat in 1, closer to the engine ,(where it should be for regen temps to reach), the 06 to 09 models, the dpf is afterr the cat, a fail (confirmed by the newer design),,, if you can delete the dpf , use a sensor to fool the ecu,, youll be better off

I've heard those cleaners make the internals of the DPF more sticky that in turn makes it harder for DPF to regen... Any experience with that?

My suggestion is and wouldn't hurt to do it because in my case it went away so it's a cheaper way to go because if you don't you need to take it to the dealer and it's gonna cost more and like I said in my case It worked perfect and I had no problems after That

once you put the fluid in the DPF did you just start the engine and let it run itself or you increased RPM with acceleration pedal? did regen start itself? I have 2010 sprinter with DEF and the same problem

can you give us an update on the after cleaning results. i think you might have actually hit the catalytic converter instead of the dpf. As per WIS item# 120/1 closes to the engine is actually the Catalytic converter, not the dpf.
Wedges on the video is the correct cleaning is the particulate filter and that's how you clean it
After I did the cleaning I did not get any more messages on my computer
On the 2007-2009 Sprinters, right after the turbo charger, first is the catalytic converter and after, further down, there is the DPF. 2010 and up is reversed, first DPF and after 2 catalytic converters. In this video, since it is a van with DEF (2010 and up), the guy/owner spayed the liquid in the DPF, where it should be sprayed.

I'm considering to buy a 2010 311 Sprinter 4x4, but seeing so much problems with these newer vans, kind of freaks me out, especially because this van won't produce money, being for personal use and I'm worried about expensive issues. It's difficult and expensive to maintain ? Should I go with it or stay away ? What I've found, looks good and it's rare for the money, but also have lots of km.
Syncro Van there are great Vans but if you trying to buy one try to get one with less kilometers on it that's the best recommendation they're the best gas mileage out there vans
That was my thought as well since his fingers were covered with soot just from handling it! How much does that computer cost? Like so many other DIY projects, there are always extra costs to get the job done! Still cheaper than a Mercedes shop!

I have a Freighliner Sprinter 3500 2012. The codes that I have are P2002 P244A. Also have loss of power. You think with this process it'll help?
Junior Vivar if the particulate filter has not been clean and a very very long time you have a good chance it is very clogged so definitely this may help if this is the case in your situation it won't hurt to try it just going to cost you a little bit of money but it won't hurt to try to see if you can solve your issue
Junior Vivar also did you check the turbo hoses to see if it's any cracks in them cuz that was slow down also your van take a look at that before

What kind of glue did you use to put the copper line into the sprayer?
Ross Ghiotto I did not use any glue the Copper Fit perfect right into the sprayer but if yours is a little bit loose you can put a little bit of Teflon tape and try to make it tight so it holds the pressuring
This is a good info video, but dam for ur dpf to clog at only 40,000 miles is an issue you should be looking into..u must do a lot of idling or short stop n go type of work..
Yes in my case I leave the truck running for hours sometimes between my work so that really messes up the particulate filter if you do a lot of highway miles you should be okay for a long time.

What direction was the tiny hole you made in the copper line?
it was a small hole that way it could build some pressure to the tip of the copper line.
Did this yesterday, and I think it worked. My Ultragauge won't clear the codes, neither will an Autel AP200. It says it clears them, but a rescan shows them still there. Could there be something else going on, or is it just that my scanner didn't have the right functionality to do the job?
It could be that your scanner can't erase it
Is that Mobil oil 229.52 ? Sorry for asking but 43000 seems low for DPF to be clogged .. DPF goes bad from lots of idling and/or not low SpAsh oil . I have 127000 on my Sprinter and my DPF is like new , I check it with my scanner . I use 229.51 5w40 and never idle ( mine is V6 2014 )

S Volk i leave my sprinter in idle most of the time and short drives so the van doesn't have time to degenerate more often thats why my warning came up.

No... Those are 2 independent systems. SCR is controlled by its own control module that is located under the driver's seat, but DPF is directly controlled by the van's ECU. The only time these 2 systems work together is during a regeneration.
Im in a state that dosnt require inspection. Can you remove the emission systems on these and trick the computer like you can in the ford diesel trucks?

not sure about that
Catalytic converter doesn't get clogged usually since it doesn't trap or deals with solid particulates, but gas particulates. DPF deals with solid particulates (soot), SCR/DEF deals with gas particulates (Nitrogen).
Did you mix the solutions with water or anything else in the sprayer container or it was only the contains on the bottles by themselves?

My 2016 MB Sprinter has 60K miles 4cyl. diesel I'm the original Owner and ALWAYS keep ,maintenance up from front to back myself, I've NEVER had a breakdown, not a 1 trip to Dealership.... I Just watch your video..Is this something I should do? I don't do short trips i'm always up and down the highway 3 times week! not a whole bunch of town driving... Just wondering if I should make this part of my maintenance program..If so how often? Thank you Sir!
highway miles the system Regens itself so is better for the particulate filter , in my case my van was in ide for Hrs at a time i think that's why mine was bad

Hey I just purchased a 2012 Mercedes sprinter. I knew nothing about the DEF at the and the sales man told me that I just needed to fill the DEF and the light would go off. I drove it off the car lot and noticed a countdown of about 4. That night it went to 0 and would not start again! I want to do the cleaning you did in the video but I can't get the started. Do you have any recommendations?
I am not sure why it had a countdown I have never seen that on my Sprinter so I wouldn't know how to advise you on that.

i just had the same thing happen to me when i bought my 2014 sprinter from a private sale. This means your DEF is leaking and it will burn your o2 sensors and other sensors. Take it to the dealership. its really pricey to fix too. cost me 5800 canadian. I think its about 5000 in the US also. was so annoyed with this. the warranty wont cover our vehicles. sucks
Countdown is triggered by the DEF system. A low level of DEF, bad DEF heater, bad dosing valve or bad NOx sensors will trigger a countdown.
If it does go to 0 starts or start not possible, a reset is required, but only after the repairs have been completed.

No... It doesn't mean that the DEF is leaking... And it wil notl burn any Oxygen sensors. DEF is a Uria and it doesn't burn at all.
I have a 2019 sprinter, it has a def. Can you explain what it means that it will clean itself?
clean it self means it goes thru a regeneration using you diesel to heat up and bur it out thru the muffler ,it does that often as needed , but wen is really bad you have to clean it

When soot content is to high the DPF doesn’t need cleaned, it just needs regenerated, only when ash content is to high does it require cleaned. The DPF should regenerate automatically unless there is a warning light on then it won’t. I work for Mercedes commercial and see this everyday

I was just told today that on my 2010 ML350 the DPS filter is plugged and needs replaced. $3100 at the Portland, Or Mercedes dealer.. ouch Do the cleaners break this up and allow for regen? I do have a check engine light on, they said they tried to get it to regen manually and could not get it to function. Aftermarket sources for the filter ?

Regular mechanic will install it for about $300. Then go to Mercedes to setup the vehicle computer so it will recognize new DPF filter. I've done this 3 times so far.
Was you noticing some smell of exhaust gases inside of your car? I am noticing smell inside my E320 Diesel . I bought the car 6 months ago and I don't know if it had the system cleaned. I have no alarm on my multi function display.
Nyck461 i did not smell any different on mine.
but if the particulate filter is realy bad you will notice lost of power because it can release the exhaust.
the particulate filter is there to reduce that diesel crude smell.
so if you smell alot of diesel it has to be realy bad that is just speculating.
Check diesel injectors. There's a video how to do it (easy but time consuming repair).

Hi, it looks to me like you referred to the DPF as the muffler and then went right past it and cleaned the CAT. I guess the only reason this might work is that the fluid got blown back to the DPF when you started it. But your van is brand new so why are you doing this anyway? Confused!
To find the right can NOT THE "CAT " -DPF filter have a 2 metal tubes -approximately 10 mm.diameter attached to it. One is at the beginning of the filter and other is on the end behind the cleaning media/filter inside.The ECM monitors the pressure differential between in tube and out tube trough pressure monitor sensor.If you follow those 2 metal pipes you will reach to pressure monitor sensor in the engine compartment somewhere .Malfunction of the sensor also will set error code P2463 and eventually in limp mode.Also cracked rubber hose connectors to the sensor may set the ECM in P2463 -check that first and than go further with cleaning procedure.
the computer gave me a warning that i had to clean it
too bad they dont make a gas turbo model for the sprinter. seems like too much maintenance with these blutec machines at a cost of not being able to.use it for short trips and idling.

Gas engines are cheaper upfront but with the bad fuel mileage it's not worth it. Diesels last forever too.
The new diesel engines aren't holding up like the old ones. My work has a sprinter van with all new emissions parts at 98k miles, luckily for the 100k emissions warranty. The cost of repairing these engines is too high. The old versions of these engines were good, but they didn't have as much emissions controls.
The Ford Transit does offer a turbo gas engine, which I think will last longer than these Mercedes engines.
Well, good thing you can buy a Ford Transit Ecoboost, which has a twin turbo gasoline V6.

I'm confused. Shouldn't the engine automatically go into regen mode and burn off the garbage in the filter. Then the truck should automatically reset itself. Ram Eco-Diesel does this.
He mentions in the text on the screen at 10:30 that the newer Sprinters will do an auto regen. I believe if this is the 2007 model, it was the first year that the DPF system was introduced.
The computer or the van does it whenever it wants that's why I was fortunate to do it so that way it cleans it
Yes, but it is just a matter of time until the DPF will get clugged, especially if most of the regenerations happen at slower/city speeds. The vehicles that are driven mostly at highway speeds will have less issues with the DPF system vs the ones driven in town and idle a lot.

yes a 20 mile i would consider that as enough for the regen to start to do his proses
I’m having the same problems but I’m thinking about just deleting the whole DPF Idk if it’s a good idea or not

I could gut the filter and cat But I don’t know if the engine would like that or if it’s going to throw out more codes

2019 mercedes sprinter 2500 has code p2457,p2201, p042f. My car has 210,000 miles and I have never cleaned this part before. Is it the Reason? Someone please look into it and give me advice. grateful to you and all

What is the diameter of the copper tube ?
I used 1/4 inch brake line. It just fits if you pinch the ends in a v then fold them over. I know this is two months later, but hope it helps someone.
