And it wasn't even a big one biggest huntsman I've seen in NZ was easily 20cm across and chasing a mouse around the window display of a secondhand/pawn shop,

@@LostSoulNexus Becuse it wasn't a huntsman spider. It was a wolf spider. They smaller than a huntsman but they look very similar. Wolf spiders have venom huntsman don't.. some twits here in Australia can't identify the difference between the two.. Wolf spiders can also jump.
@@Nathan-ry3yu looked like an immature male Delena cancerides to my eye, it’s sideways movement and running up the wall in defence and length of second pair of legs relative to first pair suggest it wasn’t a wolf spider to me. Why do you think it was a Lycosid family member? Many species and genera of huntsman and wolf spiders in Australia but I’m pretty sure it was a huntsman. Also, nearly all spider species are venomous including wolf spiders and huntsman spiders.

The guy on the skateboard is on a public road. It's the Mount Panorama Bathurst race track but it's also a public road when the track is not in use. We call this Bathurst when it's on tv every year for the supercars round on it. It's like the Grand Final of motor sport and every driver want to wins this great race. It's one of the best tracks in the world and drivers from OS come to enter it.

Powerade is not an energy drink, it's a sports drink, there is a big difference. One can kill your kidneys, the other can kill your kidneys and give you life long heart issues.
Not all animals/insects/spiders/birds/oh hell, everything not human, is out to kill humans. But compared by same size, Aus, has a much larger percentage, that will kill you either twice as fast, or twice as painfully slow. So I used to want to visit like it was my entire bucket list, until I heard about all the dangerous animals etc..., I changed my mind. But then again I'm stupid enough that I keep living in what's known as tornado alley, not only do we have more than any other place on earth, the smallest one each year will be at least a EF 3 and up, so the difference in half the town being flattened, and the entire town being flattened, so I guess it's what you get used to. When I was younger my friends and I would swim in creeks, and ponds, full of venomous snakes, if you heard someone yell "Be still", or "snake", you immediately stopped what you were doing, you did not try to get out of the water, it would follow you. But you stop, and wait for it to go past, you can go back to swimming. Doesn't make sense I'm afraid of the wildlife down there, except it's not what I'm used to.

The spider is a huntsman, which is a common spider in Australia. They like coming into houses and cars because they are nice and dry. This one was actually a pretty small one (and I am not taking the piss). Pretty sure that last one was Mount Panorama, which is where a famous road race is held, but is also a public road, so I don't think it was closed for an event. The celebration with the beer and the thing at the end is a variation of the "shoey", which is an Australian thing. It was popularised by Daniel Ricciardo, who would drink champagne from his shoe after he won a Formula 1 race.

@@Nathan-ry3yu looks like a huntsman to me, I keep both wolf spiders & huntsmans as pets. The legs on this spider are angled forwards as with huntsman, a Wolf Spider sits more upright not flat like this.

We don’t all talk like that, except me sometimes…when I see my kids chilling on the couch…I repeat this guy’s words and get eyerolls from my kids while I laugh to myself…it’s how I keep myself entertained on a daily basis. It’s sad really. Don’t judge me.

The huge snake is a scrubbie, aka scrub python. They're the largest snake in Australia. The tree being cut down made me laugh. I could see where it was going to fall the moment the camera panned back to a long distance shot of it. No matter how you cut the base of it, a tree will always fall in the direction of the majority of the weight of the tree. It had two huge branches on the left leaning towards the building and a thinner one to the right... it was always going to fall on that building. The dust storm was in my hometown, we get a lot of them here, mostly during spring and summer.
and just to add clarity to that, pythons are NOT venomous (they kill by constricting prey with their immense muscular power)

This Aussie says, first - this was hilarious, you made me laugh, second, it doesn’t matter about the flavour of donated Powerade - kindness generally works, third with an indoor snake, call a professional snake catcher, 3rd - our big indoor spiders are harmless, but being trapped on a toilet seat by a charging one is terrifying, 4th - being awesome on a skateboard and drinking beer down a piece of foot-ware was not an Aussie thing, but it is now. 😂
The shoey originally started with a Aussie fishing/surfing crew called Mad Huey's sometime around the late 90's early 2000's.
The only bright side with a huntsman doing that is that at least he was already on the toilet when it made him shit himself.
It's a harmless python, not poisonous. Will give a nasty bite, and can steal your small pets for lunch, but a harmless snake mate
Harmless by not being venomous yes but if a snake this size coiled around your neck there is no chance of getting it off they are extremely powerful !

I've heard of that happening with a kid, but never an adult in Aus. The boa's in Sth America and Asia are much stronger than our pythons mate
@@roslynjonsson2383 You obviously don't know much about python's i personally own over 20 of them , I own a 10 ft python that 2 grown men couldn't " un-coil " and this video shows a much bigger snake in very close proximity to people . Being complacent around python's this large is a bad idea , Onboard a boat in my local towns marina just last year a single guy was found dead on his boat the cause of death was later discovered as strangulation by one of his snakes . He also had venomous snakes onboard not in enclosures just roaming free around his boat lol .

I had a python that not even close to the size of that one, bite and wrap around my arm and I couldn't get it ti let go, had to get my sisters to get water and make it release me, my brother and dad were also with me and couldn't help, the snake was a hungry one and couldn't be forced off.
The Downhill skater is Mitch Thompson and he is one of the best in the world and also a Bathurst local and has won the annual race down the hill named Newtons Nation.

The last clip is riding down Mt Panorama, a pretty famous race track in Aus. And at the end he is doing a variant of the shoey, with a thong. Not a flip-flop, a thong, as we call it here.
The racetrack is also a public road, but not super busy

That dust storm looks like it's at Broken Hill, which is outback NSW. They have a lot of dust storms out that way. We got caught in one travelling back to visit family one year. Luckily, we had a road train in front of us so we were kind of protected.

That spider was only a baby...I've seen one where it's body was bigger then the palm of my hand...almost had a heart attack
So did my Aunt, behind her couch, I think she did actually shit herself.
I had a plague of big huntsman spiders once. On washing machine as I was about to turn it on, base of shower, one on my hand whilst hand on pc mouse, and more. Normally not scared of them, but had about 10 in 3 days. Called the pest exterminator- all gone. Oh and yes I took photos of some of them lol
We had that happen in our place last summer, have never had so many in such a short space of time. There were around 10 in just a few days and one actually crawled up the arm of the lounge and onto my hand while I was sitting there bare footed... scared the cr@p out of me! It got to the point I was scared to go to bed and turn the light out... haha... Bl00dy huntsmen, they are kinda cute, but oh so fast and scary

Have you seen footage of the beer can regatta in the Northern Territory? Bunches of people spend the whole year, maybe more, saving up their beer cans (or any drinks can really) and make boats or floating devices of some description, the crazier the better. Although I don't think that little clip was up there.

In 1864 Australia population was 1.3 million people and many of the convicts didn't stay afterwards they emigrated to other countries a lot end up in New Zealand due to fact they wasn't treated with any respect from none convicts and had a painful experience while serving their time. I think you fabricated the story on that one. Australia layed back as culture is the fact Aussies like their space and freedom. It was never as fast paced as other countries due to the space and isolation Australia endure. Although the layed back culture is more of the past. Unless you live out in the sticks. Back in highschool our school had a pretty big crow population and they'd have to cull a bunch of them each Summer holidays (I only know this because my dad is a teacher there), but every year there'd be a gang of them and they were bloody intelligent bastards.
They can recognise people and which bags belonged to which students, and one of them decided they didn't like my friend (or maybe her bag) and would ALWAYS go up into the tree above where we sat, and would aim for her bag when taking a shit.
Also there was one week where the bins were almost full and our quad had a bunch of rubbish strewn everywhere. They told students off over the PA for "not putting rubbish in the bins", but none of us were doing it. I literally watched a couple crows flip open the bin lid and start chucking out the rubbish inside it. They blamed us students for a whole week until they figured out the rubbish was only appearing when everyone was in class.

The guy skateboarding is doing it at Bathurst , the Nations most famous racetrack . He then attempts to do a "shoey" ( drinking a celebratory drink from a shoe ) which has become a thing over recent years . This numpty is doing it with a thong (flip flop) however , which , if nothing else , is at least original.
That toilet paper was at the time when people went crazy buying toilet paper when we had lockdown with the Covid that started here in Sydney

No that spider is friendly. It’s a Huntsman, they go after cockroaches and other insects in your house. They’re very skittish so if you approach them, they’ll run faster than you expect! LOL! You can’t hear them run, that’s some other noise in the room.
I think the noise was the spider, hitting the blind (window covering, whatever you call it).
They can jump about 6ft too.

Huntsman spider, and yes, I have also heard one walking. Its "leg spread" was the size of my palm. Not dangerous, as they have no effective way to get venom through human skin, but "creepy sh++" is right. Like every other land animal in Australia, they avoid contact with you if they possibly can.

The white birds with yellow feathers on head, they are called cockatoo’s. pronunciation would be “cock” like penis” and say cockatoo like you say I seen a cock or two. The skateboarder at the end is racing down a real racetrack that is a real road when they are not racing and people live on the track. So come race day, they get a front row seat on there from lawn, watching the V8 Supercars racing around the Circuit.

Wolf spiders have fangs that clink against a jar wall when you capture them. It's pretty creepy how loud they can hit it. I imagine funnel webs are the same.
But the spiders you can see and hear aren't the ones you need to worry about.
So Aussie to do that with the toilet paper. Everyone of those people stealing the toilet paper was "Australian" through and through. But the person stacking it in their yard was about as "un-Australian" as you could get.
We had the rolling dust storm over Victoria after a dreadful bushfire season. It was in the forties ( temperature in Celsius) and you couldn’t see or breathe. I had glandular fever at the time and heading home from work. Will never forget it

That ‘road’ in the last clip is actually a legal road but is also the race track for the annual Bathurst race. It is closed to the public when the race is on but all the rest of the year it is open to the public but not many people use it as it doesn’t go anywhere and is mostly used by those who live on it.

I had a big huntsman in my house once. Called him Fred. My toddler kept wanting to "pet" him whenever Fred hung out above the couch near the ceiling.
I had to rehome Fred incase my bub squashed him one day.

I was an Aussie postie for 40 years, I was harassed by magpies for 30 of them while delivering on a motorbike. If you offer your postie a drink on a hot day, they will love you. Stick to water. Funny story: Christmas eve we were finishing up for the day but one of the Postie's failed to return. It was before mobile phones so we got in a car and went looking for them. We found her sitting in a car port pissed. People on her round had been giving her glasses of beer, which she drank, and was now too drunk to ride the bike and deliver the mail. So I had to do it for her while our boss took her home.
I woke up one morning to a dust storm on my birthday, I was immediately convinced that the world was ending on my day of birth 😂 it was like the outside had a filter on. I’m from NSW Australia, this happened like a decade ago and haven’t seen another since haha
It's a huntsman. Harmless, in terms of toxicity. They bite if you attack them and if hurts but they're not venomous. Mostly they just run around like idiots.
It's a Huntsman spider mate... they're common in Australian houses where they hunt cockroaches. They're very timid and rarely bite and when they do, it's about the same as a bee sting. Not dangerous in spite of how they look. That one is not particularly big...
I was having a beer at Quamby pub (its in Queensland look it up on a map). A huntsman spider decided to join me for a beer; it held up the traffic between Normanton and Cloncurry for a week! True.

The skateboarder IS on a road. This is a section of a National Highway. It is ALSO the site of 'The Great Race', Mt. Panorama, Bathurst, NSW.

As for me and my - the uneducated, blue collar type workers are the ones that say that - the Paul Hogan types. Most people say it correctly. I did have a nanna who used to be school teacher in the 1930's and she used to say "me" instead of "my". Don't know where she picked that up from but times were tough in the depression era and she may have not had a good education herself. She did teach in a West Australian town so maybe it was a rural thing too.

It think it an 80 kmh zone when it's a road and the hit 300 kmh when it's a race track.
