Before you apply the wax, if you’re worried about that crack, consider applying some good quality wood glue inside it and applying a few clamps. It should help strengthen it. Then sand down again to remove any glue that’s on the surface. Alternatively you could use wood filler but that would fill the holes as well and when re-applying the nails that might add enough pressure to reopen the crack. But just applying wood glue shouldn’t fill the holes completely. Generally, according to a woodworker friend of mine, good wood glue makes the glued area as strong or even stronger than before. You could also carefully re-apply the nails, adding glue as you go, and then clamp. You’d need more clamps and wiping away/removing excess glue is harder. What is important though,is that there is no wax where you’re applying glue, because it would prevent the glue from doing its job.
Oooo.... Once again I am green with envy 😍.
@nblmqst1167 this is a project for sure but I'm loving it.
I think it would look marvellous varnished and it would seal in any lingering smell too.
@@runtsgal that'll be a winter project I think.
Beautiful. This is a part 1 adventure too.
I have so much footage! Lol

@@eddavanleemputten9232 all good advice. But since I filmed this a while ago I've already proceeded. That'll be up tomorrow.
