@UCg-mlnTBUMdt0ZhT2VUw35A but netflix is making a reboot, to cater to original fans, we're allowed to be disappointed by it. please shut up and stop using heart eyes emojis just to prove your point, this isn't twitter.
Omg Thank you! I'm so tired of every show being just sexualized. When I watch downtown Abbey my stepkids always wonder what it's about, my stepdaughter then said "Probably sex in a castle" omg .. I can't anymore as if quarantine isn't dark enough already!
They could just make a group of witches, no real need for the Trix, after all Thier clothes are hidius enough for Witches. The Trix could be like a aim for these witches. Would fit the entire depressing gloom more than sparkly colorful fairies.
It’s lazy honestly. If they wanted to be dark. Pan’s labyrinth is a dark fantasy and had fairies in it in that looked cute yet creepy and had wings. They could of done the wings like that movie. I’m already doing their job for them xD. Someone give me money so I can make my own winx series remake. I wouldn’t of took this in an overly dark direction like they did.
I find it incredible how they found source material that literally had everything going for it. The cast was already diverse, the fashion was on point for 2020, and its had a pretty strong resurgence with the rise of the Y2K aesthetic and general nostalgia. Yet they still managed to mess it up.
@@dreams4357 All of the outfits just feel confused, like they’re trying to emulate current trends by putting them in clothing that by themselves could be considered nice, but then styling them terribly.
That's Netflix's specialty, ruining already good shows by giving them garbage reboots, the only good thing Netflix made was Devilman Crybaby and that's it
@@RosieLindan Yes, I get this point. But they could at least respected the colors and the characthers personal style. Bloom in red/pink leather jacket? When in the world?
What sucks the most isn’t even necessarily making it darker, as someone here said scream queens was dark but also campy and girly. My main problem is erasing fashion, bright colours, and anything to do with ‘girly’ as if it’s a bad thing, cause as usual society hates teen girls interests and instead needs to make it more mature as if it wasn’t already
Bloom’s blue? Netflix: RED Aisha’s teal/green? Netflix: DARK BLUE Stella’s orange and yellow? Netflix: BLACK okay just make the top yellow Musa’s red? Musa’s asian race? Netflix: PURPLE CLOTHES AND MAKE HER WHITE . Flora’s pink? Flora’s mestiza race and latina ethnicity? Netflix: BROWNISH GREEN, OOH AND LET’S MAKE HER WHITE TOO. Tecna’s purple? Nah let’s erase her from the plot.
exactly im so tired of shows trying to be edgy. we want bright aesthetic cute outfits and a fun light-hearted plot. We already have too many dark angsty shows, it's getting boring.
the show is so dark, that technically Stella should died here. We learned in season 2, that without natual sunlight Stella is dying, but even her clothes are so dark that I wanna cry
That doesn't make sense to me too. Especially during the time that we're in, do they really think people want to see bad things happen to their favorite characters? That's not what anyone needs right now, Netflix needs to get it together.
@@ahaha5057 We need a stress reliever show not a stress-giver. 2020 already gave us that, we need cleansing not stressing. Did the director not realize it? Or we need a more disastrous event than the pandemic to let him open his eyes?

@@youknow7856 Right. Straight outta 2015 roadkill. Then people are saying that they look like they are going to church or a Bible study. Honey I go to church and trust me, NO ONE dresses like that. Not even the 60 year old Bishop. 💀
I personally don’t care if the story line is more dark, but I do agree that the lack of diversity and horrible fashion sense is really getting to me. And it really does feel like directors or producers are recreating the same show over and over again in a diff font.
Literally, even as a black person this pisses me off because they’ve put a black person in there as the token POC to show how diverse they are. They’re probably gonna make her boring asf, they’ve completely replaced the Asian and Latina characters and think it’s acceptable. POC aren’t accessories to show how diverse you are.
It really baffles me that Netflix isn't giving the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina a 5th season, yet they want to make Winx, which is supposed to be colorful, a dark edgy show like the one they are refusing to make more seasons of
The first thing my 18 year old sister said was “where are the bright, skimpy outfits?” Making this show dark takes away from a show people grew up w and loved. It seems so weird seeing it like this. I think Stella’s look pissed me off the most from the little bit I saw earlier.
@@cherusiderea1330 so true. It doesn’t look interesting at all, it just blends in with the other thousand of Netflix films in my mind with their basic characterisations. I don’t even care too much about skimpy outfits, more so more eye catching outfits, more glitter, wings or somethings to make there’s ordinary looking girls seem more interesting. They’re just relying on the fact they have powers to try and grab our attention which I feel is lazy.
I get making the outfits more modest if they're supposed to be teenagers because as fashionable as the cartoon was, you don't really want to see a real life teenager dress how they did in Winx lol. But besides that, you can dress modestly and be trendy at the same time. The outfits are so bland and cheap looking in the live action, it doesn't capture any of their personalities....

TheRapper10000 Actually there are some hints that musa is Asian. Her design in my opinion hints at her being Asian since her eyes are narrower than most of the Winx girls excluding flora. It could be a character design choice but in cartoons Asian characters are sometimes depicted as having narrower or smaller eyes. Also her hair style also hints at her being Asian since Asian characters are often given bangs. Some more hints are that some of her outfits are Asian inspired and her home planet melody has Asian inspired buildings and the king of melody wears Asian inspired clothing. So with these hints it’s safe to say that she is supposed to be Asian coded in the show. While I agree that the diversity came from the storytelling rather than race it was nice having a diverse cast in terms of race since they could’ve easily made it an all white team with a token person of color character like in the like action remake.
@@taylorboney1089 Yeah! The way the original did that with Musa was just "this is how she is, this is where she's from, there's signs that this is coded to be asian and children who are looking for something to relate to can see it but we're not going to shout about it." Which is better in my opinion..
Exactly. I liked the original since the fairies were kinda girly girls with cute fashion but they were powerful! They didn't shy away from being a girl. I loved it. But this... is so sad to look at. I genuinely had some trouble figuring out who was who
@@undefinederror40404 I appreciate that kind of diversity rather than the kind that is pushed in our faces, ya know? I jsut want my entertainment to feel nature and all the girls felt natural.
Ya'll remember Enchantix? The most ICONIC transformation that not only had the best outfits but also showed how much each girl was willing to sacrifice to protect their homes and the people they loved? Yeah, pretty sure that won't be in here since they're too busy trying to be as dark, edgy, and lifeless as possible.
I don't even think they're gonna have ANY transformations which sucks. I remember dancing in front of the tv pretending to transform with them and singing along 😂😭
OMG YES. I remember so vividly the day I saw for the first time Tecna's Enchantix. She was so far from being my favorite, but since that day, I have nothing but love and respect for her. We stand Tecna in this home!!
Enchantix probably had the best story line since they earned their transformations 1 by 1 which was amazing character development for each character. Unlike later seasons where they just GET the transformation. I mean I guess you could count sirenix but eh
@@linahasdo6681 honestly if they wanted to do a reboot or show revival, they could’ve shown them as adults and continuing their journeys. Or go more into the backstories and lore.
Honestly my least favorite thing about it is the lack of fashion sense. In every single reboot of the Winx they’ve always had killer fashion, it’s like a part of the theme and what it’s known for.
Yes, not only the Winx club girls were not only diverse in culture wise, but also in colors of their own clothing fashions with their own flares and personalities. With this live action cast, I have to agree it seems out dated and somewhat dull. I mean I get they want to attract older mature audiences, ones that did watch the show perhaps, but they do so by at least sticking with some of the original stuff. Not asking for exposed midsection and high heel shoes all the time, but stick to what makes the Winx club girls their own person, and make it with a bit more flare and modern.
The other thing that's really disappointing is how they took away all the cool, unique magical powers and seem to be replacing it with....the four elements. And removed the science-fiction aspects of it for something witchier. It's so bland. I hope they at the very least have a transformation otherwise what is the point?
trueeeee, why tf does it even need to appeal to an older audience though? its literally a show about faires lmao, i'm honestly sick and tired of these reboots! they need to leave good shows ALONE not everything needs a sequel or live action tbh
remember that even though it is a shiny and charming children's show, Winx has already touched on very heavy themes: - Bloom thinking that her parents died, - Mista transformed into a pumpkin without being able to leave that form until Flora resolved, - Aisha being blinded by Valtor's magic, - Stella being transformed into a monster and being humiliated by her own father, - a dark Halloween special from season 2, - Tecna presumed dead in season 3, - Nabu being killed and Aisha wanting revenge, - And Riven being psychologically tortured by the Trix after being betrayed

Don’t forget some other smaller side stuff as well like Musa losing her mom early on and Stella’s parents divorcing! To a kid in those situations being able to see characters in a show theyre watching go through the same thing can really help them
I hate when they make remake shows to focus on relationships The characters never had as a priority , i rather see more creative outfits and wild magic going on.
They could've literally created a y2k-inspired pastel clothing line and made MILLIONS but no, we get to watch the Winx girls circle date while Billie Eilish plays in the background.
You can't tell me if they kept the same energy of Winx show and got Y2K fashion and kept some of the energy in styling from euphoria, got creative, that this show wouldn't have been a hit and iconic!
Exactly imagine the cute outfits they could've made for this, the hairstyles, the fairy style ears. Like why does every thing on netflix have to be a cringy teen EdGy drama. They could've made this aesthetic and kept to the original plotline but with tweaks
It had mature elements as subtext. I mean, it tackled a lot of mature things in seasons 1-4, threw them out the window and came back to stone in World of Winx.
For some reason the netflix creators think with the older fans from today they would more enjoy a darker fantasy instead the brighter/friendly one from the past.
If they can't even get the costuming and cast right imagine how shitty the writing is. Like they're not going 2 put effort into the show at least cast people who look like the original characters 🙄
i swear to god netflix just hates fun and girly teenagers, theres not other way to put it. the clothing design generally puts me off, Winx originally had such interesting and fashionable designs so to see them portray them so drab and lifeless in the reboot is almost depressing.
Not if you are german. as a german, Winx has almost the same pronounciation as the german alternative word for sperm or to "jerk off" which is hilarious funny If you'd ask me.
I feel like a darker plotline doesn't have to mean a darker colour palette. This is so boring, dull and overdone. also not a fan of the white washing .

So this reboot is just almost everything I didn’t want in a live action reboot. They did the characters dirty in multiple ways, The fashion is boring, they somehow made Dark Academia look lame, and They even got rid of the Trix. I’m gonna at least try it but that’s all.
Netflix prides itself on being progressive and having diverse casts in their originals. But their 2020 show has a worse representation of women of color than a show from 2004. That's just embarrassing...
Netflix prides itself on doing what market research tells it is profitable and “market research” and “profitable” often mean watered down and missing the mark. Almost like you can’t make some shit for money first and foremost and make other things like creativity and background research not a priority and expect something good.

I feel like when we're little girls, everything targeted towards us is pink, frilly, sparkly, cute. Then when we reach a certain age, we're suddenly shamed for liking these things. We're even told they're anti-feminist, that the only kids movies and shows with female leads are actually terrible because they show unrealistic body types and stereotypes about women. So it's like, what am I suppose to like then? Movies and shows with hardly any women in them at all? Darker stories that just focus on making the women physically strong? I don't like being told what I should find empowering, and I don't like that it's typically stuff that sucks all the fun out of it.
and to follow up, being a guy, I really dislike this mindset too but towards the opinions of what guys are supposed to like. why does the media get to decide whether or not I should enjoy a show about fairies who kick butt whilst being really awesome characters in their own right
The saddest part is that the actress (who are just doing something they love) are going to catch the most heat for the director's/casting crew's mistakes.
MVN Well, they might be a bit at fault, but as a struggling actor trying to put food on your table and make it in your dream career wouldn’t you take it? Plus let’s be honest here, I don’t think anyone working on this including them has even seen Winx 💀 (It’s still wrong but they shouldn’t get all the heat, especially for something that was mostly someone else’s fault)
@MVN this is a bad take. Like, these girls are just struggling under capitalism the same way the rest of us are. They need to eat, and there are less roles for women in general (see: boys get like 20 great comic adaptations while we’re stuck with this shit for like the two female focused reboots). They gotta take what they can get. It’s nice when people take stances like that guy did, but that’s not always a privilege people have and to shame them for it when it’s the fault of the casting directors misses the mark/reason we outrage.
@@allyli1718 There are less roles for women in general and yet they still have more of a chance as white women to get casted in something than their POC counterparts do. POC actors also struggle under capitalism, they just don’t have as many opportunities as white actors do. There are WAAAAY more roles for white women than there are for women of color, so if we’re going down that road, they’re still jerks for accepting these roles and taking some of the few roles that POC COULD have gotten. Unless they were quite literally tricked into taking these roles somehow they get no sympathy from me.
@MVN I agree with you completely. These actors knew what they were doing and they went ahead and took the roles anyway. Knowing full well they have more of an advantage and more opportunities as white actors in Hollywood than POC actors do.
I loved Tecna, but my favorites were Flora and Musa and apparently Flora has been replaced and Musa isn't Musa anymore either, just what were they thinking? It's an insult... Also The school was supposed to be this bright magical place, a world to long for even with the dark things hiding in the shadows... I wouldn't long for this dark edgy dead looking place ;-;
You're exactly right about this. People who liked Riverdale, were NOT Archie comic fans.. it didn't bring the source material fans and the show fans together. Rather it alienated the fans of the source material. I feel the same will happen with this show. The fans of the original version, the cartoon, won't be the ones who like and watch the show. It'll be a completely new cast of fans who will be surprised when the find the original is nothing like their show.
Riverdale sucks that I am upset that they queerbait Betty and Veronica, all in favor of an Aphobic Incestuous ship, where shocker, the shippers are willing to defend there ship.I'm disappointed on why they did everyone dirty. They could have just made it a sitcom instead :')
Why do shows always have to be “real” anyway? Like Alfea isn’t real, so just make it the most extravagant aesthetic possible? Make things bright! We wanna feel the magic in the air through the screen. Magic isn’t real, so why should the show be realistic?
And today magic is almost always portrayed as dark and evil etc. But Winx showed us that magic can be good, bright and fun. So why did they decide to completely remove the fun aspects of magic Winx showed us?
Indeed. Live action adaptations only needs to be portrayed by real persons existing in a more realistic-looking world. These producers and writters were too focused on the concept of the reality of life that they forgot to consider the factor that made these shows adored by many.
They should give this to Chinese team to produce this. THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE FANTASY FAIRYTALE LIKE WORLD IN THEIR DRAMAS. They would make it much better.
Exactly! Hogwarts wasn't real and people fell in love with it? I really expected to see Alfea just like it looked in the cartoon, just CGI. Instead they go to this manor looking thing that could house like a family of 10 at most? The cartoon was famous for its bright colours.

Honestly!!!! Like most of those shows before were already diverse without actually needing or trying hard to be, they just were. These are the characters. This is what you get. Period. There wasn't like oh I'm gonna have this specific character so that there's inclusion. It was just a given that a certain character was the way they were because that's who they are and that's it. Do ya'll remember the cartoon called 6teen? It was all inclusive, there was an asian punk chic, a red head tomboy, a black jew, a latino, a super girly white girl, skater dude, like literally it can't get more diverse than that and yet, the diversity wasn't their focus. They weren't constantly making it obvious like HEY, WE HAVE A LATINO GUY! The story was fun and about their lives and working at a mall, not ever mentioning race or ethnicities even though they were super diverse. I wish shows now a days were like that where the fact that they have diversity is not shoved down our throats, but just effortlessly being diverse.
As trashy as Riverdale is, at least it had good aesthetics and production value (wish I could say the same about the writing). Definitely didnt get the same vibe from the Winx trailer
I don't get the writer or director who stated they wanted to do something different by making this into a dark story. They didn't have Season 3 or 4,or any of the movies. And as much I don't care for the post Season 4 seasons,it's weird they didn't have any of those either. What's the point of potentially new fans wanting to get into Winx Club if they can't even easily watch all of the material in one place? Netflix and other streaming platforms like it are steadily becoming the main way people watch new content. Doesn't Rainbow want to market their series to non Italian-speaking markets again? Which was the whole point of the Nickelodeon deal despite how much of mess that wound up being for them. So why waste the opportunity Netflix would've given them for reach?

Netflix prides itself on doing what market research tells it is profitable and “market research” and “profitable” often mean watered down and missing the mark. Almost like you can’t make some shit for money first and foremost and make other things like creativity and background research not a priority and expect something good.

The saddest part is that the actress (who are just doing something they love) are going to catch the most heat for the director's/casting crew's mistakes.
Ikr, this mess isn’t their fault by any means
MVN
Well, they might be a bit at fault, but as a struggling actor trying to put food on your table and make it in your dream career wouldn’t you take it?

Preach. I am physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually exhausted how teen drama is portrayed so unrealistic. Not every teen wants or can get a fucking boyfriend, want to become popular in high school or think about sex. It gets old.
That’s why I want to raise my children without a TV.
Stella in a trench coat is literally out of her chracter.
RIGHT she would never wear a coat!!! She'd rather freeze in style then walk around in THAT :(
IKR! They did Stella's fashion dirty! I remember howling about it (the reboot and character choices) to my sister at late night XD
Stella would NOT approve of that trench coat honestly
she is coming out of the screen to punch the creators
That trench coat is cute but Stella would never wear one. She likes to show off not cover up.
I'm tired of show reboots that erase perviously existing diversity, whether it be ethnicity, culture, style or personality. Like, shows in the 90s/00s had often two people or more of color and some girl that's more boyish or has short hair and some that's more into fashion. They usually did not include heavier characters or obese ones, I admit, but otherwise you got a lot usually
to be fair the creator and designer was an italian man that was working in the fashion industry..... yeah no wonder their waists were tinier than my self-worth
This isn’t good at all.Its looks like a trash remake of Riverdale
And that alone says a lot bc river dale IS trash
As trashy as Riverdale is, at least it had good aesthetics and production value (wish I could say the same about the writing). Definitely didnt get the same vibe from the Winx trailer
Riverdale and every witch movie had a baby and they they slapped Fairy on it to make it "innocent"
This is worse than Bratz live action movie.
Riverdale IS a trash remake!
Why netflix has to turn every fun story into a dark saga -_-
Honestly, at this point, I just think they hate women unless the women in question are like super edgy or "not like other girls"
I don't get the writer or director who stated they wanted to do something different by making this into a dark story. Sabrina netflix, charmed reboot, motherland fort salem, Shadowhunters, buffy the vampire slayer etc. are all pretty dark stories we haven't really had any lighthearted supernatural show since the 90's with sabrina the teenage witch and the buffy movie.
@@Ilovegrunge123 well chilling adventures of Sabrina isn't meant to be an adaptation of the '90s Sabrina the teenage witch starring Melissa Joan Hart. It's an adaptation ofthe chilling adventures of Sabrina Archie comic written by Roberto Aguirre Sakasa. All the funny enough when comparing the show to the comic the irony is that the show has I'm more light-hearted tone than the comic which is much darker
@@Ilovegrunge123 habe you read the original shadowhunter chronicles? i did and i couldnt watch more than one episode of the show because they got like EVERYTHING wrong. it was too annoying to watch
@@adorablejoker2610 I tried to read the first book but got bored half way through. I also watched the movie and got distracted it was so boring especially half way through and they said it was more like the book. The acting is kind of bad in the first shadowhunters show but it gets better during the second season. One thing i would change though is the actress for Clary not sure if the actress is not very good or it was just the show.
This movie looks like it was made by the few people who couldn't spot the deference between the W.I.T.C.H and the Winx and I as a fan of both shows fell offended
Oof I miss W.I.T.C.H. now 😭
Omg!!! This is right on the spot! As a fellow fan of both I’m even more offended now. I need answers
YES. you hit the nail on the head. both of those series were bright and fun with their own quirks, but so much of the joy of winx has been washed away
Yes. I love Irma, but I've never seen her in a Winx episode - not once.
Ugh I miss both of those classics
Can we just pretend we haven’t seen it , like winx adaptation, who is she
No. Isn't that the name of the new pandemic going around? 🤔
@@letsbefrankkpop1041 lol what
no. as a comment said earlier, we can be as loud as sonic fandom. it was so bad and so loud they did it again. i want my winx live, and i want them to be blindingly bright. PERIODT
@@lvbkslvme yeah but they would have to literally redo the entire series, doubt it would happen
They should just scrap the whole thing and start over.
Or just leave it alone.
@@ladyofnoxus6733 yes exactly
@@ladyofnoxus6733 yeah they should just put the original cartoon back on netflix
@@dana2271 It's still on netflix in my country, I hope the day never comes when it's removed
@@dana2271 If Rainbow decides to put the original show back on Netflix my advice would be to actually put all of the seasons on there. I don't know if this was the case in other regions, but in my experience, back when WC was on Netflix, they only had the first 2 seasons( using the Cinelume dub for English).
Netflix: No asians or hispanics actresses for Musa and Flora 😌💁
Also they don't even sport the correct colors
istg, I'm pretty sure the only reason they changed the colors was bc Bloom's fire powers and Layla's water powers,,,, SO ORIGINAL
Smh
Wait wdym?
@@lunarialoonatic Musa (asian/chinese) and Flora (mestiza/latina) were whitewashed
and the color thing is because none of the characters in the trailer are wearing their respective colors like in their original. For example Bloom's color (the redhead protag) used to be teal but was changed for red instead, most likely just bc she has fire powers but what even is the point in doing that lol
That Musa looks hispanic to me, it wouldn't surprise me she randomly speak spanish. And even then, Flora literally filled that quota. It's not like body type and ethnicity are mutually exclusive.
Stella wouldn’t be caught dead in these clothes 😂
she wouldn’t want people to wear that at her funeral either
RIGHTTTTTT
I'm happy Stella isn't real because she'd get a heart attack the moment she saw that,,,,, thing
Literally
@ZEYNEP ACA last time I checked she was fictional 😔
UGHHH This is annoying I wanted crop tops cute skirts thigh high boots cute earrings like 2000 fashion but instead we get depressing gowns like some of the color is there but its not popping which I hate and honestly if we see the Winx having explict scenes with a male Im done, out like I hate when they remake a childs show, ruin it so badly.
Edit:Thanks for the likes also Im just noticing THEIR GOING TO RUIN THE SPECIALISTS! And roxy as well! Which is gonna make me really mad if the ships get ruin also please don't tell me the blonde in the trailer is sky...
Yes, well ... I'm pretty sure that's Sky and that the show has nothing to do with the original, apart from its name.
