I feel your pain brother. I live in PR & have been hunting 'Fraggle Rock' for over 25 years. The only deer I've lost (so far) was the nicest buck I've ever had a shot at over there about 15 years ago. A nice mature 4 point. It was an easy 75 yard shot across a small swamp with my .270. He didn't know I was there, had time to kneel down & get a rest on small tree. He was right at the tree line on the other side wide open. Found good blood right where he was hit and for about 30 yards going into some hellaciously thick bush. I shot him around 9:30 am & me & 2 buddies spent the rest of the day climbing through that mess to no avail. Love the channel & hope I bump into you over there sometime!
Great video as always buddy…the videography and editing have come leaps and bounds this season. Really enjoying the new content 👌 Tough break on the buck. That’s the unfortunate reality of hunting sometimes. Good on you for showing that side of it. Love that little island though…it’s a special place for sure. 🥃
Thanks Chris I really appreciate it, trying to up the production each season! Yea man that’s Hunting, you gotta show it all, Turning into one of my favourite places to hunt.
Another great and humbling video from you sir. I agree, tough not finding animals that you've shot. And the very reason i stopped bow hunting. I get the idea and feeling around bow hunting, but the percentage of lost/recovered animals is not great. Not a debate, just my personal opinion. Keep it up, your videos are awesome ! 🤟
Thanks for watching and following along! I hear you on that, I have no desire to stop bow hunting, honestly next on the list is trad hunting. But I do take to the fact the difference between shooting an animal with an arrow opposed to a bullet a little differently now.
Oh man…you know I know that pain. To feel like you’ve done everything right up until it all goes wrong. But you’re right, that’s the reality of hunting sometimes and there are many things out of our control no matter how much time and effort we put into it. Very nice vid, the countdown to spring bear begins!
Thanks for tagging along Scott! Yea it’s the part of hunting that we all need to accept. The fact that there are soo many variables and most of the time things don’t go the way we drew it out in our heads. See you in the spring!
Awesome video again Spencer. Too bad you didn't find your deer but that's how she goes sometimes. I know you made a valiant effort. I am just curious, any idea how far the deer had gone from where you shot it to where you saw last blood?
Blacktail hunting is special. Finding a big old Blacktail buck in the woods is like finding a secret lost treasure that no one knows but you. Then to actually harvest that buck is even more difficult and more of a treasure. Miss it!
It seems to me that lack of a blood trail happens more often with bow hunting than with rifle hunting. But I guess every situation is different. It looks like you put in a good effort to try and find it - too bad you didn’t have help.
It is true. Lots of lost animals out there based on what I see on RUclips. I'm getting back into bow hunting myself. I feel keeping it to 25 yards broadside, and using a wide 3 blade razor sharp broadhead is the key to getting a good blood trail.
Yea I would say you are correct, in a sense. Less margin for error. At the end of the day the results weren’t there. But the effort was put in. An extra ticker and set of eyes definitely helps in situations like this one.
Yes ! Right ! Happens to all guys, but hang in there , love your hunting success!
Thanks man!

Man that’s a tough take. Something you’ll bring with you forever. Thanks for watching, much appreciated!
Very well done edit Spencer!
Thanks Ash! Glad you enjoyed it!
@ For sure. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for watching much appreciated, it was pretty much 80 yards on the dot

Blacktail hunting is definitely a special thing, the jungle is a great place to be. You don’t hunt BTs anymore?
@truetineoutdoors No still archery hunt just got my family out of Washington State now I hunt whitetail.
Ah yea interesting, just stand hunting?
Rough time losing a buck. That second buck that was bedded in the first bucks bed was a beauty. Nice brows.
Yea that buck was bedded in the same spot both days, I guess I didn’t spook him bad enough
That’s really tough but you gave it a good ethical search. Will you be switching out broadheads for next year?
Yea it is what it is, I am considering it.

You need a dog in our jungle for sitiations like that. Better luck next time.
Absolutely, all I was thinking on recovery day was I wish I had my dog
Nice vid, too bad about the lost deer, please don’t use profanity! You are a good hunter, so, full respect mate….be a good man.
I try to hold it in, but sometimes it just slips out! Thanks for watching, stay true
Your going to do better if you put camo gloves and face mask on.
I mean I guess I could potentially do better with those items. Anything to up the chances. Remember the game is to spot them before they spot you!
@@truetineoutdoors Exactly! As bow hunters we need all the help we can get!! 🏹
Very true! Thanks for the tip
