I have lots of videos planned, but feel free to drop any topics you'd like to have covered. No promises, but if enough people are interested in something I'm more likely to make a video on it. Thank you to everyone for sticking by during the tough times! 💪💪💪Should be back to normal upload schedule soon!
Hi Geoffrey do you have any plans of making some random videos about your life in China? It's a Fitness Channel sure, but hey some ppl are kinda curious.
Hi Geoffrey, hope that you have enough data on your experiment with direct ab training to present your findings? Maybe a video on your ab training methodology?
i love how you said "my physique is no where near complete" as it shows that just because you have been training for a over a decade, you STILL have that drive to make progress and truly reach your genetic potential, which doesn't even seem like something that exists. makes me believe that bodybuilding can be a lifelong journey, even for naturals.
Your smile looks so genuine and happy after recovering from that hard cut. Look at the footage later and see how happy you were in this video. After seeing it, I've realized I surely don't want a hard cut. Now time for the muscle gainz again, Geoff.
Mad respect for going through this for the experience. You have a crazy dedication towards learning and becoming more knowledgeable. I am trying to keep an open mind as a lifter as well and not become dogmatic and coming out of my comfort zone and you are a great inspiration (even if tbh I really don't want to get shredded, it has no appeal for me, for now)
@@zikomo8913 I didn't say obese. Normal lean fit, not instragram lean. Like you're a professional handballer who plays in the Olympics. You said obese like you have a ED. I hope you don't.
2:54 You pre-empted me asking for glute shots to determine BF /salute With a tan, you'd be right up there. Really great job man, where you've just been is a very exclusive place.
What I've found with the notion "some people can maintain x/y% but not me" is because people try to do to much to fast. Some years ago when I was 30%+ BF I dieted down to ~20% I was hungry all the time, I could not deal with being 20% and what I discovered is it was because my body was used to being 30%. It had grown acustom to it and I feel like this is a big reason why so many people end up putting the weight back on. So what I did instead is I treated it like a cut and bulk. I would lose weight until I started finding it hard and then bulk back up but I'd go back up until I felt good and then cut down again. So 30% > 20% > 25% > 18% > 23% > 16% > 20% > 15% > 18% etc. This gradually taught my body to sustain itself at lower bodyfat %s. I now sit at around 12% with just as much, if not more energy than I once had at 30%. I'll dance between 12 & 15% just based on how I feel. I honestly believe I could eventually make 8/9% feel ok as well (ofcourse there will be a limit) but I think for day to day 12% looks better than 8%. I can still see striations, I still have a 6 pack but I also look fuller and bigger. For me 12% is the best of both worlds.
Congratulations on your cut. Your effort and perseverance is highly commendable. I hope this video reaches out to more people and makes them aware of the downsides of getting shredded, which are rarely talked about. Most people have messed up fitness goals and your video will help them have realistic and sustainable expectations.
In the midst of my summer cut now (5 weeks in) and my stepmom who doesn't see me everyday said "you look skinnier everytime I see you" lmao. I'm definitely starting to feel more beat up than usual already and I *might* be 12% BF right now (goal is 10%, may go a bit further after taking a break during my birthday in 4 weeks if I'm not too diet fatigued). I know I'll want to truly be "shredded" one day just to see what it looks like even if I also have no designs on competing.
Caught me at a rough time, probably the only time in the last 3 years where I wasn't uploading frequently :) I'll be making videos for the next 30+ years so taking a month off isn't too much of a concern.
@camerondanchuk5558 I'm gna reassess where I'm at at 200 because I've never been under 215 in my adult life. Actually was damn near 300 pounds at one point and I'm not tall (5'10). I think its likely ill try to get lower given how much I still have to go visually but thats the big milestone - ill meet you there breh !
This video in conjunction with Alex’s post show Q&A should be a requirement for those who are looking to get shredded and stay natural. Thanks for the information, Geoff. This was very insightful.
Basically seems like being shredded for a natural is only worth it if you don't care anymore about getting more size. And getting contest prep ready is dumb as h3ll. Probably if best to be like 12 to 15 if you want to be leaner than most people without being miserable.
@@Madchris8828yeah this really opened my eyes. I've put on some solid size as a natural and am trying to cut down a little but I'm not gonna push it too far. Some fat is totally fine
@BrofUJu same here actually, just ended my last bulk because my stomach was a bit bloated looking (guessed about 22 percent bodyfat) now I'm probably at like 16 or 17 percent or something. I'm actually happy to not be eating 3500 to 4k calories anymore lol. That was a LOT of food
@@Madchris8828 lol I feel you. I was like 155 in my early 20s, early 30s now and got up to like 180-185 which is wild. Definitely could cut a bit but I'm also just like, a totally normal person level of lean but then with muscle which is fine with me. Feeling good more important
@BrofUJu man I started off super skinny fat, so my journey is a long one lol. I started off like 165 pounds like 30 percent bodyfat, and a total slob. I couldn't really do any form of cardio well, anything almost was an improvement from that sorry state. Including the borderline addiction to alcohol I had. I'd seriously guess my lean mass may have been like 100 pounds or something horrendous. I wasn't obese but I did look terrible lol
Used to go through similar but not as hard for mma to the point I quit and only train because weight cuts used to kill me, insane respect for anyone who does this regularly

Your talk at the end about how as soon as you hit below 10% you could feel it is interesting because I have felt exactly how you describe even at 20+ % bodyfat while cutting. I think no matter what BF you are, if you're cutting hard enough for long enough you're going to get the same effects as if you are too lean. I know exactly how you feel when you say you can barely sleep and you really don't want to do anything but train, and again I have felt that at above 20 percent bodyfat after cutting for too long and too hard.
I’ve run into the same issue. I did a three month cut, and did lose some fat and felt like I kept most of the gains I had. But my sleep was horrible. And when I added in 150 calories to reverse diet it was night and day difference in my sleep
It makes sense for content creators to do a cut like this for the reasons outlined but it makes no sense for regular people to go below 10% imo, i wish more people realised this

As someone who’s cutting aswell from 25% bodyfat to current 15% goal 10%, the only reason I’m doing this is for summer and so I can lean bulk for as long as possible and gain my goal lean mass

As someone who's probably had around those stats (and as an early novice with no sustained training for more than maybe 3 months at a time) you're more likely looking at the low to mid 150s. Keep in mind you're gonna lose some lean mass when cutting down and that number will be greater the more weight you lose even if you don't lose any actual dry muscle tissue.
the most obvious explanation for "ducks in a row" is that ducklings follow their parent in a row (a neat, single-file line), so if you have your ducks in a row it means you're taking care of your responsibilities and have successfully ensured that everything you need to have organized and under control is accounted for some people say it instead comes from pool, where an easy shot into a pocket is called a duck, so if you have a bunch of balls in a row and right in front of a pocket you have your ducks in a row... but i think the one with actual ducks is better lol
@19:00 Getting your ducks in a row is a common saying in America, I guess it just comes from baby ducks following the mother duck in a line, getting them together i guess just means to not leave out anything important
lol.. I kinda figured you crashed having been absent on zee tube for a minute.. I did a crazy cut a few years back.. hadn’t achieved the desired definition at the time but regardless.. that 7 month cut was insane.. by the end.. sitting comfortably on the toilet was incredibly difficult

Im one year into My first bulk and thinking of going untill next spring then cutting to check my progress💪 but would not try to get this Lean. Mad dedication
Regarding sleep - do we think that 8-9 hours sleep should be a standard? If being lean reduces your sleep duration - maybe that's just a feature of the body in that state - you are not well-satiated so it would mean that you are more alert in general.
Cool. You should try stretching and such, for uncomfort relief and "distribute" the tissues and all. I guess the problems with the sitting thing could be better that way.
That was cool. I cut down to about 10% from around 13-15% that was enough. Did it over 5 months, nice and slow. Basically ate ground beef, eggs, apples, peanut butter, yogurt, saurekraut, some leafy greens and coffee. I did take electrolytes supplement too. Noticed some of same side affects but nothing too severe. 13% body fat is sweet spot for me.
Amazing arms. Can you please share more about the diet aspect? How don't you track? What do you do exactly? How do you deal with immense hunger? SOO MANY QUESRIONS. Love this channel.
Been shredded before weighed in at 97lbs soaking wet definitely not fun low energy feeling depressed and the crazy part was that I tried to diet down even more definitely got the death face and my Teachers thought I was diabetic definitely not going back now at 125lbs feeling much better and bulking

Im one year into My first bulk and thinking of going untill next spring then cutting to check my progress💪 but would not try to get this Lean. Mad dedication
Thank you for your testimony, as a natural who would really love to compete in the future it was really useful!
Very honest video - good job on this.
Regarding sleep - do we think that 8-9 hours sleep should be a standard? If being lean reduces your sleep duration - maybe that's just a feature of the body in that state - you are not well-satiated so it would mean that you are more alert in general.
One of the best natty bodybuilders of all time
Cool. You should try stretching and such, for uncomfort relief and "distribute" the tissues and all. I guess the problems with the sitting thing could be better that way.
I've been sitting at 12% - 13% for months. I'm hoping to get shredded in the next couple weeks. I've got plans, big plans. 🤞
13% body fat is sweet spot for me.
chick ducks follow mother duck in a row.
sometimes they get lost and wonder around
If they're in a row everything is good :)

The worst thing about being very lean is losing face fat.
If you are older, it does not fill out completely afterward when you re-feed.
