Anyway, I thought this video was really well done, not becomes of the Turk rant but because it addressed a myriad of issues in the fitness industry ranging from TRT to honesty to stress to comparing your physique to other men to how the natural side of the industry is sadly shrinking.

I used to run a TRT clinic as a provider. Was very picky about who I would recommend therapy for. Even then, I would say about 50% of men I would start on therapy didn’t get enough benefit to continue after a year or so. They either were expecting too much from the dosages I was willing to work with or wouldn’t do anything in the diet/exercise department to elicit any real change.
That being said, there were quite a few guys (and gals) who had a new lease on life after getting optimized. These people almost always had realistic expectations going into therapy, followed up on good lifestyle changes, and really just wanted to feel normal again.

I spent the next 20yrs arguing with doctors who gaslit me all the way telling me I was healthy when I lacked any strength and any attempts to lift, even light, resulted in my losing consciousness.. I couldn't enjoy martial arts and boxing anymore.. after a few years I started experiencing bone density issues and muscles wasting.. it wasn't until I was 170kgs of obese blob that a doctor finally ran a hormone panel when I had been screaming at them for one for the last 20yrs.. I am now on a medication for the tumor but being denied TRT.. slowly making my road to recovery but I'll never be 100%

I think this is why a lot of golden era bodybuilders got on the gear.. many of them trained through their peak puberty as young men and were large lads, but would have started feeling their strength just fading on the other side of that hormonal peak and unable to provide their muscles with the peak testosterone they needed

The sensitivity to pain was increasing throughout my late 20s and energy levels, sex drive, or just motivation to live was dwindling. At 30, my doctor said my testosterone levels were less than a woman, in fact it was basically zero. I still didn't try it till my 40th birthday came and I decided to just see what happens... Now, I really can't even remember feeling this good, confident, or alive in all my life. But recently(ish), he tried advocating for his "maingaining" again. Both him and his bro suggested not tracking calories and just "living life", bc 'the body will know to make up the lost energy from training.' Sounds quite like intuitive eating here.
If we were to compare their intuitive eating advices, Greg's is definitely shittier. And he's a hypocrite.
Expect to not make gains listening to his advice, and after he said: "if you don't have abs, you're fat."

I was fat my entire life etc, and when I wasn't seeing much results in the gym after starting lifting at 40, I went and got tested. My test was 119ng/dl. I was fresh into "fitness" so I had they "lifestyle" down. I trained ate and slept properly. So I hopped on trt. I can say 100% TRT is "steroids". Even on a replacement dose that only puts you in the normal range it has benefits naturals will never see. There's nothing I can eat or get too little sleep or recovery that will ever affect my test levels. My levels are always the same no matter what. 3 hours sleep? 900 test, 12 hours sleep 900 test, fasted 900 test. It's always where I want it based on dose.

I'm a month shy of 49, and I can't say I've ever been seriously tempted by the idea of steroids. I'm one of those rare people that you tell me the side effects of drugs, and I don't want to have anything to do with them. There is a little part of me that is kind of curious what my testosterone numbers look like, and there is an even smaller part of me that is curious what would happen with my training if my doctor put me on TRT, but if it happens, my doctor will be the one to bring it up. While I would love to see my strength go up, I have enough joint issues pop up as is.
About the happiness/physique relationship. I'm not training for aesthetics. I train for more strength and athletic performance. In about the last year or so, I started to really enjoy my training for the training itself, and I stopped caring what I look like. Ever since then, my happiness and overall satisfaction with life has gone up. My physique has actually improved a lot as well since I stopped caring about it. I can completely understand how the inverse relationship happens when physique is the primary/only goal. I would say that it is the rule for almost anyone who doesn't have their crap together.

I left social media long ago except for yt but it is the same here. You can find a few natural lifters but even they often create wrong expectations as well. but I figured out that the real reason why i train is that I enjoy my training. Process is fucking slow and Ill never be able to compete with influencers but I keep improving. There is always a way you can improve a bit. Even if it is just one f* push up more or one rep more doing curls with very low weight. You need to accept these things as they are: success. If you cant even do that anymore, do new exercises or learn something different.

In one of Dr. Mike's many videos explaining the Darkside, he explains how going on and off TRT in between cycles of other heavy steroids is a pretty common path. Beyond that I literally FULLY agree with what you said in this video, for me it took several years to understand, that although the sentence "stress is a choice" is technically true, it is just way to easy to misunderstand this simple sentence.
Let me leave here some food for thought:
I know a person very close to me, who had a quite traumatizing childhood starting already before birth. Fetal life conditions, including stress on the mother (which was a real factor in this case), have a serious impact on the individual already in the womb (high insulin and cortisol levels in the mother do directly impact the baby's physical development). Further than that, there are several studies concluding that extensive psychological stress in the first 3 years of an infant can have noticeable detrimental effect on the development of the prefrontal cortex, which then leads to poor impulse control, and emotional dysregulation. So, although such a person is technically making a "choice" when reacting on things happening in their life, it is still quite inappropriate to use the word "choice" in it's fullest meaning, as their avaialbe reaction "choices" to choose from are quite limited if we take in context the potential issues or underdevelopment in their prefrontal cortex - for which they are not responsible, as we can firmly state that they didn't choose the life circumstances of the first few years of their life (including fetal conditions). This is not for exempting everybody from the liability of their own choices, I rather wanted to leave this here as a reminder that human psychology is very complex and it is not that simple to talk about choices and judging human behavior based on certain choices.

) and I can tell you why a lot of guys quit. It's. A. Fucking. Pain. I've been on TRT for almost 20 years because I'm a 3x Cancer Warrior. I've been lifting on and off for several years just to be healthy and for obvious aesthetics, but I've had a lot of injuries from lifting the wrong way and too fast. I'm back at it, the RIGHT way now. TRT info is overwhelming and almost as ridiculous as "Get a 6 Pack in 2 Weeks" kind of bullshit. TRT sucks, it's inconvenient, screws with all kinds of stuff when you don't need it, it's a pain to get it, and it's expensive. If you're natty, stay that way. Get off IG and get some therapy for your body dysmorphia, if you have it. Stay safe. Train hard.

18:06 That study concludes that there is a very small decline in test from puberty to about 40 after which it completely stabilizes as the line in the middle of the graph shows. And the study had about 10k men and every single small dot is a man, so you can see in the graph there are plenty of 80 year olds who still have relatively high test levels.
I read that study quite a while ago and it was very informative and it's also much newer (2014) than most studies people refer to when referencing the testosterone decline, most of which are from the early 2000s or last century. It was also a larger study and had a wider variety of people than almost any other study done on this topic (10k participants). The older men with low T are the exception there not the rule, so when some people suggest that everyone should be on steroids when older it's absolutely baffling and simply wrong.
Your test is not supposed to decline forever like so many fitness influencers like to promote, it usually peaks at puberty for very obvious reasons after which it declines a VERY SMALL amount until you are about 40, after which it stabilizes. Any further decline is almost always caused by a crappy lifestyle and in very small percentage of cases a genetic default. But let's not lie to ourselves, the vast majority of these people with low T are like that due to their lifestyle and can only blame themselves, but they will never admit it and if you point it out they will get angry and lash out at you, anything to not admit guilt, self victimizing is very appealing.
You are right, it isn't "normal" to take steroids when you are older and people shouldn't expect to be pumping injections every week once they reach a certain age, it's a very toxic idea and it annoys me that it just keeps getting promoted by people out to make money and the masses just keep eating it up like candy. This is why I like your channel, you don't buy into the bullshit most people believe in.

Great message, people really need to hear it. I occasionally look through the MPMD subreddit and it is shocking the people that are: taking steroids while looking like a rail, getting on TRT in late teens/early 20s, or just have absolutely no idea what is "natty achieveable"
I agree that you can never get your "natty card" back. If you've ever taken anything at all, you should be saying "i've been natty for x years" and true naturals can say they are "lifetime natty".
Personally I've truely never been tempted by PEDs. I think I can attribute it too not being involved in any fitness social media (no youtube, instagram, magazines, anything) for my first 10 years of lifting. I learned the basics from high school classes and just went with it. I was already content with my physique before I got involved in the fitness industry's madness. Plus like you said having multiple interests, I've done more distance running than lifting, so I wasn't 100% focused on muscle building

I've learned a lot in these years and can say that there's a shitton of things to do before hopping on TRT.
Sleep, nutrition, supplements, exercise, love life, drugs, alcohol and many more factors should be taken into account before sticking any needles in your body.

You cant make that blanket statement without the caveat that it only applies provided you dont have any medical/genetic/etc issues causing your problems. There are plenty of folks that have legitimate medical issues that make TRT the only solution. I dont care what you think you know but you arent fixing shyte with sleep/diet/etc when you have medical/genetic issues holding you back or at the root of your issues!

12:15 When Igor mentions how old you start, it's a bit of a tricky situation. If you start too young you might mess with your brain developement and other stuff but the older you start blasting the less shit your body can handle. Shawn Rhoden died before 50 yo because he was taking loads of drugs later in life. His career started in 2009 (before he had to assist his dad) so he blasted for 12 years. Consider that Nasser who died more or less at the same age (47 yo) started blasting in 1993 and did so for another 20 years. So if you choose to start roids start after 21 yo but before 35 yo.

Back then there wasn't even an alternative to bodybuilding. I love bodybuilding but it ruins some people's sanity and ideologically is near to Nietzsche's "superhuman" and the idea of constant self surpassment. If you have the opportunity read Nietzsche, it's really hard to decrypt but it will make you reflect deeply just like it happened to me.

And at the same time, he's gonna sit there(literally, sometimes) and tell you you're a troll bc you think he's a fake natty. His traps betray him. Ever seen a Natty with traps that overshadow his lats? Didn't think so. I am well versed in NattyorNot 101.
And all he's given the fitness community is brosplit programs and chicken-broccoli-and-rice meal plans. (We're getting lifting advice from metrosexuals).
Let's just not forget it was Fake Natties like him who kept us Real Natties small with their garbage advice. They gave us idealism and broken promises. And some of us were so crushed we stayed small, forever. Because sometimes the continuum of idealism turns to pessimism, instead of realism. I am fortunate to have gone thru the latter.
