I realized Dan was pushing the envelope when iCarly came out. My brother and I would just look at each other shocked whenever they’d make a lowkey sexual joke. Like is this actually a kid show? And we were 10-14 years old and were smart enough to pick up on those things
They talked about boobs all the time on iCarly, they used the phrase “hobknocker” and I found it on urban dictionary and it was listed as a person who slaps people with their penis! Boobs weren’t up for discussion on Disney channel. Bras were mentioned, but not boobs themselves.

What’s worse about Ren and Stimpy is the creator of the show, John K. When you find out about him, it makes sense and then I realized he’s legit one of the worse people who ever walked across the planet. It’s really sad because when I was a kid, I wanted (still want to do animation projects) just not fully realizing how this industry is horrible to its core. I’m glad the victims are finally getting their voices heard.
However that scene she’s describing isn’t from the kids show ren and stimpy they re made it for adults about a decade ago and that’s what the scene is from. That would never have aired for kids in 90s-2000s
@@MELLUMOADA true but that show was originally for kids until those innuendos showed up and it was aired on Nickelodeon originally. I used to watch it when I was growing up. They had to change that show from that network into another one for more adults. Not only that, this man literally groomed two teenager girls while he was at the Nickelodeon studio at one point or his studio that was associated with the company. He used his influence to get these girls to work and even dated them and then some if I’m not mistaken. And to add on top of that, he created a character name Sodie Pop, that was a s3xual!zed version of a teen girl and he was on the Howard Stern show explaining how he was drawing her and told her actual age and he was proud he made that character. I watched documentaries about him and Nickelodeon and other network for cartoons from content creators that focus on the highs and lows of the entertainment industry.

I'm still reeling from watching the documentary. The way they treated the black "All That!" cast members was EXTREMELY ATROCIOUS. They were singled out and treated differently. And what had happened to Drake Bell, despite his criminal behavior, was HEARTBREAKING. His mother failed him. These segments were some of the most difficult parts to watch and I could barely get through them. I feel like a part of my childhood was a lie because I grew up watching Nickelodeon.

Ti it very eye opening. As a kid, I asked my mom to go to an audition. We never made it to the location and went home but I’m thankful because by the grace of god I was protected from the horrors of the child entertainment industry.

I’m 25 but I grew up on iCarly and Victoria, Drake and Josh and Zoey 101. I remember my mom had a problem with me watching Drake and Josh and Z101 one because she felt like they were too sexual just because every time it was like someone was making out with somebody or dating calling people boobs. I remember in iCarly as a teenager. Something rubbed me off about some of the jokes they made because I could tell they were dirty joke I'm already like 14 15 they use to use the word sexy and just making out randomly when I think about it all now they really had them kids making out and saying grown stuff and didn't even realize it smh no wonder my generation is fried

yeah i feel the same way. nickelodeon was my childhood. i think it's not only messed up what happened to the actors, but i feel like in some ways us as viewers were victims too back then. hearing all the rumors how he was into feet, and then incorporating foot jokes into the shows to have us watch them while trying to pass it off as something innocent as harmless jokes because "feet are funny!" is really throwed off.

I have to say, as a kid, I knew how deviant nickelodeon was starting back with Rin and Stimpy, and it got worse from there. It was the boldness of TV back then to push the envelope, to sneak in subliminals of sexualization and acceptability late 80s early 90s and it worked. They got away with a lot for years, the worst being SpongeBob.
I always tuned in to watch this Spongebob as a child..... When I got older certain things became glaring/odd, EG. The Panty Raid, Patrick dressed in leather, BDSM type of attire & the list goes on.
At least real kids and teens weren’t hurt in this process . All we do is find it funny cause it’s a cartoon . There’s always adult jokes that fly over our heads because the creators are adults themselves . It was harmless

If you're fed garbage daily, eventually, it becomes normalized, desensitized to those unaware. It's not harmless but exposure to mature content directed to kids using kids or cartoons having a programmed grooming effect. Someone, some adults, is getting or got gratification from that no different than pedos downloading tons of kiddy porn and fetish vids. Someone is harmed, corrupted, or exploited in the process.

The children who had parents that were protective and present ended up stable or lost their careers. At some point we have to ask why there are no protections in place to demand that minor children have a parent present at all times. I know this will not prevent all abuse because some parents just don't care, but it will limit it. We wonder why these adults who were child stars are either abusers or broken, something has to be done.

I got emotional watching this video and I'm sure I will watching the documentary. I grew up watching Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. Looking back on the former, there were definitely signs that there was darkness and shady innuendos on different shows. Like Ren & Stimpy, Pete & Pete, and Salute Your Shorts. Spongebob has had some weird stuff too. I'm sorry for what Drake and the others went through. Yes it doesn't excuse him victimizing anyone but it explains the origin of the perversion he had. He learned to abuse because he was abused. I'm glad he was held accountable and can get the help he needs. We are now in the age of accountability and people who got away with exploiting and hurting children need to be brought to light. And I think the little girl's name from All That was named Katrina. She was the youngest cast member before Amanda Bynes joined.
On the note of the Ren and Stimpy part, there are two Ren and Stimpy’s the kids version and the version meant for adults.

I always recalled telling him , that is not funny at all why are you watching this ? I always found it weird when stuff kept splashing in their faces and I do recall the potato glory hole thing . I was like why is this on a kids show ? I didn’t even think about it like that but now I am like what the f$&k .
