  • Drake Bell, star of Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, sits down for his first exclusive interview since the release of the HBO documentary ‘Quiet On Set.’ Drake discusses the response since he so bravely shared being sexually assaulted by Brian Peck (dialogue coach, producer, director on various Nickelodeon shows). Bell reveals more about his friendship and controversy with co-star Josh Peck, if he’s heard from other Nickelodeon stars since the documentary was released and what the documentary left out. Bell reveals more about Dan Schneider and their relationship as well as Dan’s apology. Plus, he discusses Rider Strong and Will Friedle’s latest comments on writing support letters for Brian Peck. Bell also discusses his child endangerment case and how the New York Times recently retracted their story calling him a sex offender. #drakebell #quietonset #joshpeck #amandabynes #arianagrande #danschneider #brianpeck #jamielynnspears #drakeandjosh #theamandashow

I think probably any and every actor in Hollywood have experienced or perpetrated some type of horrible abuse. People who search for power are just generally bad people. Unfortunately some people just enjoy and are good at acting and they get caught up in the Hollywood power structures that exist behind the scenes. Completely different industry, but a Boeing whistleblower just got killed before he could testify in court that Boeing has been making horribly unsafe commercial airliners. I truly believe there's like a 60% chance any high up at any successful company is just a horrible evil monster.

I have seen Quiet on the Set and this interview. All I have to say is WOW!!! I am amazed by the maturity, vulnerability, and STRENGTH that Drake has shown throughout this whole ordeal. Experiencing an abusive situation and keeping it inside for years has to be devastating and suffocating. To be abused by someone you trusted, Have to keep That secret inside for years, Have people blamed you for the abuse, and defend your abuse destroys the soul and breaks the heart. Unfortunately for Drake and people like Drake , they use unhealthy substances to deal with the pain. But The pain is still there. It's like putting a band aid on a gaping wound but blood is still rushing out and eventually the band aids gonna fall off due to the gushing blood. A person can use anything to cover up their trauma, food,, drink,, Drugs,, But unless one deals with that trauma and that grief and that pain s/he will never get better. And a person Has to want to get better. And drake found that desire, he wanted to get better So he went into rehab and got therapy. And praise GOD that he did and he got out of that dangerous situation. The man that I see on this screen right now is a beautiful, strong human being with a resilient spirit. I've always liked Drake Bell, always have liked his music and his acting. But now He is one of my heroes, one of my angels. The vulnerability Drake is showing is incredible.. I know people in their 60s who don't have that vulnerability. I pray Drake continues on this healing path. GOD bless you, sweet Drake and all.survivors of abuse.

Literally any time Drake has spoken about Josh, it's been so respectful and with love. After seeing the docuseries I believe he really must've clung to the friendship he had with Josh since it was an escape from all of that trauma. That being said, I know things have been rocky for them these past few years, so it's very wonderful to hear Josh reached out to Drake. I too thought his Tik Tok was maybe aimed toward Drake but then Drake confirmed Josh had reached out and to go easy on him. What a guy.

Its sooo easy to write celebrities off and "cancel" them but what this whole documentary has brought to life is the real life ugliness that everyone goes through. And its not fair that celebrities are going through that in public. Sexual abuse happens in all industries except it will never be highlighted or scrutinized in any other way besides in show biz, and the public comes in like an angry mob and judges. Its insane. And we judge them for all the things we know in public. But it made me tear up when Drake was talking about Josh. Drake and Josh are really like brothers. Brothers don't get along all the time but will always be bonded whether they like it or not. Thats so true and it warms my heart. Drake is such a real person for highlighting all sides of the doc, admitting his own faults, and still holding space for the pain while being understanding of everyone involved even if he has every right to bash them all. He handles all these different layers with such grace. Definitely did a ton of work to get to the place he is at today. Wishing him nothing but more success and healing.

What many of us also couldn’t help but notice is that the video was very much about them, and over-defending themselves. They acted like the names of the victim and the assaulter was saying ‘Voldemort’. I don’t recall them once just saying they were sorry. They stated regret, but never said they were sorry.
It felt like they were more worried about their legacy than about the damage they did by being on the wrong side of the court room, and thinking there was a situation in which a man ended up having sex with a minor was explainable and worth defending that person. Not even hearing the words ‘abuse’ or ‘assault’, how is any sexual contact okay enough to write that letter or stand next to him for support? Little bit of upsetting insight from somebody adjacent to the SW industry: the first time drake remembers is not the first time it happened. it was the first time the ROOFIE TOLERANCE kicked in and the pain woke him up. The abuser had been drugging him and doing this a long time, and his panic was that drake woke up. Dan was angry that the abuser broke the rule of keeping them unconscious when victimizing the children. That's why he was angry. Not that drake was hurt, but because drake woke up and might let on that this is what dan was doing to amanda.

Why is the host smiling so aggressively and speaking with such exuberance in light of not only the subject matter but also HIS demeanour and affect, which was somber and low-key. She is acting like he dropped a new hit album or film or something...Heck, even a musical. I am so uncomfortable and put off. She sounds literally ecstatic. Am I missing something? I wish I didn't have to hear her asking the questions lol. No offense to the host, but her interview style lacks a bit of sensitivity to the subject matter. It's borderline triggering.

I watched the documentary last night and... wow. Within 24 hours, my mind was changed, and my respect for Drake has come back tenfold. I used to be a huge fan of Drake's, and Ready Steady Go was my ish!!! I stepped away after his case because I was manipulated by the media who were throwing lies on TV about Drake. I knew Drake was the one because no offense to Josh, but he wasn't, to me, someone a typical pdfile would go for. Drake was. And I can relate kinda because I was m-lested by my brother from 4-6 when he was a pre-teen. I want to apologize to Drake Bell for taking the media's side. I really hope he can heal properly now and be free. I also loved his song "I Kinda Relate" and I recommend y'all show him support.

For Drake: I cried watching you and your dad tell your story. I found myself finishing your sentences when you would take a pause before expressing how you felt. It is extremely painful when people choose to stand by the monster who hurt you. Monsters are master manipulators and unfortunately the truth is too much for some to face because it's so heinous but that doesn't detract from the fact they made it out to be "no big deal" with their letters. It's truly devastating when they're trying to blame you for what happened. You know this, but I am stating this in affirmation, it was never your fault, you did not ask for any of it and I hope those people who stood by the pure evil monster are not only ashamed but have learned they need to ask questions and see through the bullshit excuses before supporting another child predator. Thank you for sharing your story, I know that took a lot of courage and the pain of reliving the trauma is awful. But your advocacy will hopefully bring change and protection for children. I hope you are able to progess in your journey of healing. You are not alone.

I am only about 22 minutes into the interview and I really appreciate the amount of detail Drake Bell shared when none of us, even the interviewer 🙄, is owed this. I cannot speak for Drake and how he feels about this interview, but I personally find this interview hard to watch because she would move on to the next question rather than at least acknowledge his words from the previous question or ask follow up questions to at least acknowledge what he said. To be fair, there is only so much time to conduct the interview and there are a lot of topics to cover. This doesn’t seem edited, but I know with a lot of podcasts and interviews, there’s a lot of content that doesn’t get released. Essentially, my only criticism is with how Sarah conducted the interview. It felt sanitized and like she was too careful with her wording… to a fault really. It seemed like she didn’t want to offend, but I think that led her to overthink the entire interview from how and when to ask the questions, her responses and expressions to his answers, and her tone seemed subtly stoic and not at all inviting.
