What to feed your goats? trees are good!

- Me sawing down a tree for the goats that I will use for firewood this winter! I have to pin the goats up till I get the tree sawed down cause they always want to stand right next to me when I’m sawing them down something to eat!

Excellent work. More tree leaves for my goat brethren. First the tree, then the forest.
They especially love mulberry leaves didn't understand why they go nuts but then I read mulberry contains more protein than most vegetation. I would think it would be a good tree to use as for pollard. Plant a couple hundred and you got a reliable food source without depending on others for feed.

I thought this guy was pretty overkill.
I'm not surprised though, cuz if you look closely... actually if you just look, you can see that he doesn't know how to use a chainsaw or fell trees at all!! You shouldn't have to run away like a scared rabbit because you should fell the tree exactly where you want it to land. Not "wherever"...
I imagine he just wanted an excuse to cut down a tree cuz he thought it would make him look masculine or something, lol!!!

A week of hay for that many goats is 20 bucks at MOST! But ya, kill a giant tree instead, makes sense. At that rate, he won't have many of those 50-100 year old trees left before long. Probably doesn't care though. Lol.
When I was a kid I helped my dad bring in firewood from trees he cut down and we definitely fed our goats the pine needles and branches, but we weren't cutting down trees for their leaves. I mean, we only had wood heat during the winter, we had to cut down the trees to survive.

Several points for Akshay & Kiki,
1) He clearly said in the video (if you would have watched) that he was already going to cut the tree to use for firewood. The leaves were an added extra bonus for the goats. I appreciate the use of the entire tree (wood and leaves) as it adds to the use of the entire resource. I believe this goes a lot further to the "protect the forest idea" that you clearly tried to post. It was informational at best for a multi-use practical application.
2) The man is clearly trying to get his channel started with clear, concise, and specific information. Negative feedback or laughing at the growing channel with false presumptions only shows your ignorance and general lack of character.
3) This was not a video on how to properly use a chainsaw. Forgive the man for taking precaution with a falling piece of timber. I would rather watch a cautious man than an idiot hack down timber to promote stupid habits. I would then much rather watch the idiotic man hack the tree than read your idiotic internet troll comments.
4) Using words/phrases like insecure, needy, needing to look masculine, is a far stretch to get from a youtube video. I would presume the needy, insecure, needing to look masculine, "figure" is the internet troll that has nothing better to do than rag on a guy who is trying to get his channel started.

You ain't seen a video of me acting dumb as hell, I saw a video of him acting dumb as hell, I gave him some pointers he can take or leave. He cut that tree down like a moron and I think he should know that, but I didn't just say "oh you're probably this, you're probably that", I told him that he needs to learn a certain technique. And honestly he probably has thicker skin than you.

I raised a lot of goats and cut down a lot of firewood.
Cutting down a tree so goats can eat the leaves is a last resort hon. That's really stupid to do when you could just give em a bale of hay!! Cutting down that tree "costs" more than you think you're saving. If you were clever, you'd keep the goose around and find a better way of getting the golden eggs on the regular.
And learn how to use that chainsaw for Pete's sake! Omg!
Get on youtube and actually learn how to fell a tree so it doesn't land wherever and so you don't have to run away like a scared rabbit or have a serious accident.
Trust me. Actually knowing how to use power tools first makes actually using them much safer as well as lot easier!!
I will admit the goats are excited. But you could bring them a pile of branches and they'd be just as stoked.

@@laytonneal4836 you can look the technique up. If you're too lazy or dumb to pull out your phone and look up proper technique then you deserve the tree to fall on you one day I guess. Do I really need to demonstrate that I know what I'm talking about just because I can identify unsafe technique? Do the facts that I live in the city and don't own a chainsaw right now mean that if I suddenly had one, I wouldn't know how to use it anymore?
