    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milwaukee Tool released a new generation in Heated Gear with the redesigned M12 Heated TOUGHSHELL and QUIETSHELL Jackets. Both jackets feature an advanced heat technology system. These jackets offer better mobility and flexibility while being lightweight and comfortable. Both jackets feature the unique new battery pass-through that allows for battery placement in the front or back pocket. The pass-through provides improved comfort by allowing users to relocate the battery to a more optimal location based on the situation.
Kits come with the M12 REDLITHIUM 3.0Ah batteries.

I use it with my 4.0 or 6.0 battery hunting in freezing temperatures. I must say I’m impressed with it, and it keeps me from having to put on thermals and 3 layers. It’s a win for me! I also use it around the house on chilly days doing yard work and it’s done very well so far. I got a large initially and heated well, but I exchanged for a medium and it’ll fry you out on high.

Do you not want to feel your battery at all in your heated jacket? Follow these steps:
1: Buy a 12000mah flat cellphone backup battery that has 12v capabilities. They are the size of an iPhone now.
2: buy a 12v dongle that upscales 12v out of USB. Dongle will be standard USB male and 12v standard female.
You now will never feel the battery no matter where it is located and this works on any 12v jacket.
    This worked for me.

Love the idea, but dang that gets expensive to change out batteries in a 200 dollar jacket.

@@WorkshopAddict This is the future in heated jackets. Now, Milwaukee and DeWalt need to innovate and catch up. DeWalt has the edge with the flat pouch cells in their arsenal. If everyone accept the clunky batteries, they won’t produce the next best thing. We should tell our reps this.

I would recommend emergency warmers, this will keep you warm sure, but the need to recharge batteries every few hours kinda goes against the emergency utility. Although it does have an aux charge for phone. Just gotta have tons of batteries

Since you had the XL grey Milwaukee jacket would you recommend getting the large so it’s tighter in the chest? But then the arm length would be shorter

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  2 года назад +1

If I was always going to wear a T-shirt under the jacket, I would buy a large. Since I wear a Hoodia and the jacket, the xl works. But I only use heat 10 percent of the time.

i had high hopes when these things came out. Unfortunately, they are more a gimmick than anythimg else.
Yes, on a calm autumn day, over freezing point, they are nice and you can feel the heat. but below freezing point, the heat just spills out. Also you need to buy a very tight fitting size. 1st jacket, i made the error of buying a large. Could barely feel the heat. Second one i bought a medium sized, it is a bit better.
If you really want heated gear for winter, buy the hoodie and put your normal winter coat over it.

I think what everyone seems to be missing is even without the heat function, these jackets are top notch. They're not anymore expensive than a comparative jobsite quality jacket, I love my tough shell it's waterproof and damn near indestructible. Keeps me plenty warm while running my skid loader in the winter (no windows doors or heat).

I have wore this jacket daily and I feel the heat each time I wear it, BUT last night it was 37 degrees and my wife and I went for a 3 mile walk and I did not feel the heat. I has it over a T-shirt. It was incredibly off. I did have to turn off the jacket at the end of the walk, but I never felt the heat. Can you turn it on inside with a tshirt on and within 4 minutes you should feel a good amount of heat.

I was hoping they fixed the heating unit because my jacket sucks, I don’t feel much heat at all when I’m out hunting. My dad bought a heated jacket for a 1/4 of the price from Amazon and it is twice as warm. If your moving around I be it does feel warm but when your sitting in 20 degree weather for 10 hours at a time the jacket doesn’t do a whole lot for you
