Hi there. Thanks so much for taking the time to paint the individual flowers first. I have been painting with an isolated friend during lockdown via FaceTime and your tutorials have become such a vital part of my life at the moment. I’m 71 and you have made my lockdown time much more bearable and believe me my paintings are far from perfect lol. Thanks again for sharing Emma. We all appreciate your time. Love from a very hot Manchester England xxx
It's so beautiful ! But I want to thank you specially because you explain very well. I'm 52 woman and I try to start with watercolour, with your tutorials details all seems more easy. Thank you very much. Excuse me for my poor english, I'm french. Salutations from Spain where I live and see you soon in a new video 👋😘😘🌿🌸🌹🌸🌿
Thank you for showing how to color match flowers from real examples. I appreciate how you first broke down the individual blooms and greenery and then built the bouquet. The end result is very lovey as it is simplified to the arrangement's best view. My own attempt will be much slower, but I like to see how an accomplished painter can build the composition so beautifully. I'm grateful how you have taught this lesson. :D
Put the broken flower into a bud vase or a short cup to save it! I love that flower, I’ve never seen a yellow garden rose before, they’re so fluffy and full
Hi Emma,My first comment to you.I am Dell,I can watch you all day ,trying to help me learn watercolor.I love all the lovely flowers you do.Your wonderful.. Dell..
I have an old round box that I want to paint with watercolor ground and then with beautiful flowers. I’m re-organizing and decorating my room/art studio in the shabby chic look and I think your flowers painted on my box will be the perfect look! I may change the colors more to pink to match my decor better. Your colors are absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for teaching us! 🌺😴🌸
I love how you keep coming up with new and innovative ideas for your tutorials. Often times after watching your videos, you bring me out of my painting funk. Also, I’m hooked on Princeton SNAP brushes. Thank you Emma! Keep on truckin!
Hi Emma. I never cease to be amazed at how easy you make it look. Like my fellow follower, Susan, below you've made lockdown so much more bearable. I branched out trying acrylics but have decided that watercolor paints and pencils are my favorite. Hope if I watch you enough, I'll learn by osmosis. Best wishes
The freesias - both in your practice examples and in the final bouquet - are absolutely gorgeous. So much beauty in so few brushstrokes! You paint with such certainty and confidence, and it turns out beautifully. Wish I had your gift for composition and placement!
I agree w/ Susan, the practice flowers really helped. I love your loose style but it will take me awhile to loosen up and not be so rigid! I so enjoyed this video🥰🎨
Your work is so lovely. Water color is such fun isn't it. Have you ever thought about just pressing the kneaded eraser down on the pencil mark's? It lifts with greater accuracy than rubbing.
Yes! Love this type of video! I never know how to arrange flowers with the flowers I paint. Would love to see a bouquet of the wildflowers you created awhile back.
Your work is smashing, as are your explanations. I do however, wish it were so easy as you make look. Still, practice and hope, seem to be working. Thanks ever so much.
I love to watch you paint. When I do flower arrangements from garden I do thrillers.. main focal point then fillers.. then I do spillers .. which are things cascade or grasses.. this helps me.. I really like way you do roses.. may want use rule 3 same flowers help keep balance. You are very gifted ❤️😊. Thanks for sharing.
The second flower you didn't know is Solidago, Emma. Common name is Golden Rod. It is a good flower for arrangements but it can be a little invasive in the garden. However, there is a smaller variety which doesn't put itself about so much as it's more pushy cousin!
I didn't see your comment I made almost the very same comment. I used to be a florist but I don't remember all the names, but that one grows wild here and can play havoc on the allergies.
Thank you so much, love practicing with you. I’ll be 64 this Aug 2024 I absolutely in love with watercolour. Will purchase some better quality art supplies then.
The gold coloured bush flower is called Golden Aster (most think it's golden rod) I just went to get the title of two resource books I used before I retired from the Floral business and I haven't got them unpacked yet. One is a pocket book we used in the shop, the other is much like the large book you have but with the growing and care information. When I get them unpacked I will send you the information. You might even ask if they have the one at the florist that provided the bouquet. The book is about 3-4" wide and maybe 6" long usually has a green spine. I want to say the title is something like Cut flowers of Canada or Flowers of Canada.
Touch at top right of screen (phone) and press on wheel lookin shape ... then options appear & one option is playback speed... hope this helps... happy painting
I love your technical lessons, which watercolor you use or recomend? Also interesting about paper, is there special some brands that you love or it can be lot of? Thanks for your lessons 🌸💫💜
Hi Emma, Thanks for this tutorial, it’s beautiful. Which sketch book are you using? I have been shopping for one but I am not sure which one to get. Thank you 😊
