A Yank here. Some tips with the scale operations: Don’t install a scaffold for drivers to exit the truck to speak to Simon. Install an intercom at both ends. As for the product cards to be placed on the dash, have them color coded for fast visual reference by the loaders.
Last week I asked a question about your scaffold city and just watched this episode and now understand why you didn’t answer. The reason I asked is I just completed my scaffold inspection course so was just curious I have nothing to do with the haters around here I love driving to work past your yard everyday seeing true changes you have made awsome channel

3:45 I’ve got a height adjustable desk at home and they’re provided at work too, they’re not only for people who want to stand, it means those that are tall like me or vertically challenged can have their desk at a suitable height when sitting too.
18:30 Just a point but there's folders on top of the aircon unit, not a great idea as the top needs to be open as that's the air inlet. Might be worth moving them before it causes issues later 👍
I remember the day that road closed. Left my house and had to go back through West Drayton High Street and sit through the 2 temporary traffic lights. Then later in the day I saw all the Ashville Lorries driving past my house as I live not far from the office. Looked like they were doing convoys all day 😂 Luckily I was on annual leave that week, so I didn't have to navigate trying to deliver your direction. Also no doubt the works were organised by Bucks Council and not Hillingdon. As you sit right on the border.
Daniel, If you can get to the ad blue injector to remove it. take it off and put it in some boiling water, it melts all the adblue that has crystallised in the injector saving having to put a new one on it.
Agreed I thought this too. Just a intercom or walkie talkie strapped to a scaffold pole concreted in the ground. Don't need those signs with material type, the person in the weigh bridge just radios the shovel loader person just say reg material type tonnes.
I'm surprised you don't cover the exhaust pipe on that loader, it's facing into the wind, as you go down the motorway the turbo will spin with no oil, big no-no here in the states, best way to take a turbo out, they even make covers to put over the stack while its being moved, had one take out a nearly new turbo a few years ago on a Cat D6T, just saying.
Dude, I'm with you, fighting the good fight, making things happen, pushing where others give up.. Don't stop our kid.. I can see the pain in your eyes.. I'd have put one of those Ring doorbells on a post with a nice piccy of Simon for the weighbridge/drivers comms, to save them getting out, especially in the winter rain.
Keep on going Daniel, your vision has brought you so far already. So long as your brain is ticking over your company will follow suit. In whatever you do always look for the logic and always find a way. 👍👍
The new yard looks good. Now there should be less dust and mud, have you thought about buying a small Japanese pick-up fitted with a water tank, hot/cold pressure washer to maintain both the vehicles, yard equipment and buildings, etc.
Intercom system for the driver, far simpler and safer than walking along the weighbridge top, fine until someone slips off once your non-slip paint gets contaminated by muddy boots.
Back in the 1960s when I just started in construction I was taught never to let a diesel tank run down past half and to top up full at the end of each shift. This prevented diesel bug growing on top of the fuel, now working in a yard with a tank and pump is easy. Working on a site and using 45 gal drums is more difficult. Daniel a lot of your problems seam to be operator error so I wonder how experienced they are.
Went out for a running for fun work initiative this morning and half of the time I was thinking about our Sunday morning ritual. As always Freddy and the team didn’t disappoint, it’s difficult to be consistent and you guys do it on a consistent basis

oh!!! the ways and the wohs of of being in business you're doing well Daniel don't let the haters get at you even though it seems like its never going to end all you need to do Daniel is give it a hard look back to when you started to how big you'[ve become .
Hang in there brother , you’re doing great and fighting the good fight 🫶🏽 Your actually doing something great thus the several obstacles , hoping they do pass . Its lowkey comforting to see someone in the same position as you and encouraging because in the end persistence pays off good sir and your evidence of that!

You could do what these drive thrus have and get a system in place where they pull up and have a convo with a camera installed so Simon can see the driver, have a two way convo and thus then inform the ground staff via radio.
9:48 @Ashville 1.) Has space been allowed between the communicating accoustic doors to deconflict the door hardware (handles and closers)? 2.) Drawing shows a left-handed reverse door paired with a left-handed door. That's typical communicating door between hotel rooms. (Although the handing is expressed differently because in that case the secured side is between the rooms.) But, what is it the best strategy for entry into a theater or studio, where you have to hold one door open to access the next? Consider flipping the interior door so one could slip through with one door handle in each hand. The owner should definitely be consulted on this before you order materials. Also, because of potential confusion in describing door handing to the supplier, make sure that they have considered the drawing in the ordering process.
Awesome episode Daniel, every episode I keep wondering when are you going to start building the bays for the material in the new yard and how you plan to build them. Cheers
I love watching your videos, they are very inspiring as I also have a business to do with plumbing, keep up the great videos, ill keep watching. Get on with it then. Lol
Hi , ive noticed when the roll on off puts the empty skips down on the rail area some of the doors come undone . If you had any shuttering board , or old board to butt upto the first rail and also in the gap between the 2 rails this would take the shock out of the procedure, just my 2 pennies worth lol
You should get the Stella boys to make Terry a stand up desk with a treadmill to keep him awake as the fella is literally stealing a wage !!! of Daniel! 😜 fantastic episode boys!
Can’t you provide the incoming drivers , who come in to load up, with a radio before they get to the weigh bridge? They can then use that radio to talk to your weigh bridge operator to tell them what material they want and so that they can tell him when they are waiting to weigh, after loading. They then hand the radio back in before leaving the weigh bridge.
@Ashville To Be Honest, the only thing I can see that the Yard Needs is, A Truck Wash / Machine wash (which could be used at the end of the day or Sunday's) with a small group of Young guys/girls which would keep all the Trucks/Plant looking Niiiiiiiice... Loving my Ashville Sundays Keep the Content Coming, You guys are Killing it...
I can’t help but think you could have made the weigh bridge unmanned using technology - maybe it would require two bridges but hear me out! you drive in and the bridge takes your weight while ANPR scans the reg, same happens on exit bridge (which has a barrier), the reg is already allocated to the customer account so that will automatically generate the invoice to the customer based on recording the weight in / weight out. For cash customers it could work like a car park where they just pay at a terminal (positioned next to the exit bridge) then the barrier opens, don’t want to put man out of a job but surely that’s the future!! Keep up the good work love watching you grow
Daniel why don't you get an intercom by the weight bridge so the drivers can communicate with Simon and Simon communicate with the drivers also, time can be saved that way.
A Yank here. Some tips with the scale operations: Don’t install a scaffold for drivers to exit the truck to speak to Simon. Install an intercom at both ends. As for the product cards to be placed on the dash, have them color coded for fast visual reference by the loaders.
Spot on! Asheville/ Daniel do this makes much more sense.
Can’t do this. Because of the doors these trucks have you can’t open the window to talk to the intercom
@@WorkingTitleCo You mean the window can't open because of the extra window? Thats only on passenger side.
Yh and the control hut should have CCTV all around it for him to see what is going on with the truck traffic.
