Same.. that's just a different way of doing ebay.. At least the seller will be happy - since that drove the price to absurdity. Plus they look like a good office anyway - even almost in corporate colors.. And no, I never did anything similar on ebay AT ALL!!!111! ;)

I still don't trust online auctions. Nothing stops them from running it up putting a fake $1500 bid in. Auctions can be shady in person with fake bidders but it's less
Feels like you’d save on breakdowns and repairs if your townie and their team had the capacity to do daily and weekly maintenance on the plant as well as basic fitting tasks.
@StellerScaffolding top work as always gents, but I think he needs a frame building in front of the black gate now he’s cleared the blocks, he’s on about going smaller sign lol so in front of the gate is a perfect platform for a huge sign 👌
Keep the rhyme, and have some fun, there is always time, because there is sun(day). It is such a nice introduction into the videos. To engage the Ashville mood.
Dan you can buy them magnets that fit on the back of yard vehicles and forklifts so when they drive around they pick up bits of metal while they are working !!! we had one on our forklift at work it worked a treat
The turnstile is a great idea, however! Dan it does need a paint refurbishment into Ashville colours.... the Yard is coming on leaps and bounds.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
When you run older, well used equipment, your preventative maintenance program must be robust. You must replace parts aggressively before they fail. Every time you have a failure of a critical machine it has a radiating, stressful effect on your entire staff. They begin to respect your machines and equipment less and begin to abuse them. I believe this is happening at Ashville. Keep your equipment well maintained and clean, you’ll have a better operation all around.
21:05 "We go again tomorrow" - Daniel in a nutshell regardless of his mood and circumstances , he keeps pushing forward. Now that's what I call discipline!

Have you thought about a speaker system for the drivers collecting on the weigh bridge. This would work well with the traffic light system and saves the driver getting out the cab eliminating any risk that may bring. Just a thought.
Like the old VOSA MOT LGV test stations when the inspector was in the pit, & would speak to you via a speaker system. All you'd have to do is make it a two way system.
Daniel, You and many enjoy them so why not alternate the Rhyme Introductions. And, that Bidding War was funny-they will be great in the long term. And. Aah; that personalised interior Tipper Lorry made me smile and giggle with joy. That driver is clearly, like all the teams at Ashville in their own way, proud of and happy at Ashville. Your supporters admire you and more too. Thanks to you/all for another great over 1 hour episode. Have a good rest of the day also week ahead Daniel, everyone. P.S. Daniel, a salutary thought: many great businesses suffer (sometimes, sadly, fatally) when their founders devote all their efforts to a new yard, a new HQ, a new factory. So much so that many investors dump shares whenever a new project like that is announced. It is easy to feel like that's where you can add the most value, but it is seldom true. I'd humbly suggest you might need to think about taking on a really switched-on person to organise the new yard, and to free you up to concentrate on business development. As you rightly say, it is quiet and tough out there right now, and there's a non-zero chance that those headwinds will continue for some time. You clearly deliver great service to your clients; I'd suggest that needs to be where your efforts are focussed right now.
I think Daniel has it covered. He is in bed with some big players. You really think he would have gone to such great lengths if he wasn’t certain that the new yard would benefit him? Come on now, don’t be so narrow minded.
@@MajorMac621I suspect op's point was that Daniel's expertise is in growing the business through sales and marketing, and hiring someone to manage the relocation to the new yard might actually be better for business and probably better for Daniel's mental wellbeing. Much like passing on the ops role to Terry has freed him up from the day to day logistics of the business. Wouldn't make for as good content though.
@@alexpeartree2019 I totally understand. However. I’m sure Daniel has sufficient help behind the scenes. Other friends who own bigger companies than him. He runs a business that’s doing £1m plus a month. At least. Probably much much more now. He out of anyone isn’t going to think he can manage the new yard build all on his own. We see 30-60 minutes out of a 6 day operation. We see the highlights, the problems, the good the bad and the ugly. Like you said. For content. You really think Daniel is managing that move all on his own without any outside advice or help? If you do then. Come out from under that rock 😂
Spin those truck/weigh bridge walking area gates around. So when you open them, you aren't walking around the gate or have to have the gate closed to pass on the walk-way.
Good morning, it's Sunday morning Ashville weekly crew. Sitting comfortably with breakfast and tea looking forward to a great video from Daniel and the team. 🎉
I can hear Baz yelling at you about maintenance. Your road vehicles are great. Gotta look after yard equipment better. Hot power washing to keep clean. Grease guns. Oil, hydraulic, coolant etc.
Daniel, you fell down the auction hole . They say someone can lock in a high bid . It doesn't have to be a bidder. It can be the owner, too. Ebay is great for that. You would want to get a good set of brakes or your account manager with you when you go bidding again. I grew up around plant hire back in the 60s/70s. Late nights or long weekends for my father and eldest brother. I was too young to be a part of the business, but I do remember it well. Keep up the good work. Your doing a powerful job 👏 🙌 👌 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Fantastic buy Dan can you imagine how much that modular office would cost new. 2 ideas 💡 if not said already…sale ..transport and accounting can all be on one level so being more productive ther for getting them out of the old containers and 2nd is to put this new modular office on top of the containers via stairs saving room and lots more storage for all you Asheville antiques ????

Just a thought when your leaving the yard via the pedestrian turnstile exit, the way the door opens you could either open the door into a car or truck that's heading into the business park. You wouldn't be able to see if anything was coming before it was to late.
1 hour 5mins in, the sign on the far right restrictions vision of being able to see when you're driving into the yard. I'd suggest putting the new one slightly more over to the left so you can see slightly through the fence for incoming vehicles.

Hey Daniel, I always think you guys could do with giving the trucks a decent steam clean every once in a while, maybe you need Baz to knock you up a WF washramp so you can get the machines up there once in a while for a full wash down & inspection?
Completely agree with the comment about preventative maintenance, either that or see if you can get somebody like Guy Martin to come and look after your fleet.Cannot imagine that he would have broken sweat over a broken pin on a loader.
Daniel, i would suggest fabricating/installing some kind of bracket to stop the traffic lights getting slapped or damaged from trucks, there not cheap if you have to replace them.

You should use that modular office as a hotel room for the Liebherr technicians so they can work there full time and never leave. lmao
Baxaden Breakers still have a large caravan in the corner of their yard for that purpose. 😉
I was already a Volvo guy, But watching this, I would NEVER buy a Liebherr. ^^
