I was an exhibitor for the first time at Blade Show West, here is a recap of the experience. firecreekforge... / firecreekforge #bladeshowwest2024 #knife #blacksmith
It was great meeting you at your booth. Hope to see you at future shows. Will have to invest in one of your knives sooner or later. Keep up the great content, looking forward to seeing a knife to acquire soon. Thanks again
I have never seen a blade show event before but it sure looks fun to see all the beautiful blades. Your collection at the table and supplies were amazing.
Thanks for instroducing me to a knife show :) I got to say those colored wood blocks and demscus , it's the stuff dreams are made of. It's like nature's work of stone and wood but "better looking". I guess I would put money into that if it's combined with "usefulness to my specific daily routine". (in case you want a new angle) Thanks again for sharing.
Elijah, I own two of your knives and will buy others. First, I buy them because they are quality knives, made to use, for a good price. The other is because I get to come along with you on your journey through this life. Love this content. Mike the Unmemorable😊
In all honesty I would have never went to the show if it weren't for you. I stumbled on your feed years ago making a frosty T burner forge and have been addicted since. You've taught me a lot, both bladesmithing and as a Christian man, blade show west was an opportunity for me to meet a mentor. Ended up meeting 2. Hathenbruck has great content. Glad I got to shake your hand, and actually meet the man behind the videos.
Keep up the good work. I've been enjoying one of your hatchets, which I take camping with the kids. I always make a point of explaining to them that it was forged by hand. I'm looking forward to getting a knife one of these days.
I got to find your business just from RUclips and I may have seen the episode you were in. I’m glad I found you because I got a really nice knife and hope to get another one soon.
Thanks for the update! I have started my first MagnaCut blades this week and I am curious what your thoughts are on it! Hopefully there will be a video soon.
I went to Blade in Ft Worth two years ago. Was one of the best experiences in my life. Love your content and love you a lot. Could you tell me who to contact to purchase Maga steel? Would appreciate the info. Thanks Wallace
I was going to come down and see you but I had to work unfortunately. I will be looking forward to meeting you next year. I can’t say enough good about all your products as I have some of all of them.
Would have liked to be at this event and meet you and look over your knives etc, but it’s a long way across the Pacific. One day maybe. Regards from Down Under.
Enjoy your content and videos. I was wondering if you have any stickers for sale. I have recently retired and am getting back into my workshop and would like to adorn it with stickers from YT channels I enjoy - which yours is one of them. I have a friend that has a forge and he is attempting forging knives and as a side hustle I am making the handles for him. Thanks in advance and stay safe.
Very cool coverage! You mentioned that you got to check out the fit and finish of some other makers out there: what was your takeaway on that? Was the bar higher, lower, or about where you expected? Thanks for the cool content!
@@GibsonCutlery yeah, so I just wanted to see how my fit and finish compared to recent journeyman sets, and then also to master smiths knives. The takeaway for me personally was that I think I'm pretty much there for journeyman level. The master smith level is a little more subjective, because even though something was made by a master smith, it doesn't mean that's the standard for what will be judged. To know that you would have to look at a recent master smith set that passed. I say recent because the expectations have increased over the years for both journeyman and master smith quality. The next thing to do is the opposite, meaning I make a knife or two and show it to journeyman and master smiths to see what they think.
@@FireCreekForge I had no doubt that yours would be up to snuff! It's interesting you point out how the expectations have increased. The internet and social media have impacted knife making more than any other development (other than steel!)
Brother, you strike me as the type of person that holds a high standard for yourself Which is a great quality, but at the same time can sometimes mean you can overly critique your own abilities! I hope you don’t for one second think your craftsmanship isn’t up to par! Although I’ve never used one of your knives your process and finishing work is outstanding! Keep it up my friend! 👊
