Thank you for taking time to make such a concerning video that is sympathetic in teaching about Orthodox Faith. I'm Anglican but have been studying Orthdoxy this year. At the moment I'm inquiring. So far, so good! There is a tug in my heart toward Orthodoxy so I'm excited to be in the search/journey and see where it ends!
I do however want to say that I paused the video at 11:14 because you said according to Peter's 1st Epistle that satan as a roaring lion wants to destroy," those that do not have the love of God in their hearts, who haven't been baptized into The Church etc...," This is true but is incomplete!
satan wants to destroy all of mankind and wanted to destroy Very Blessed God Himself according to Isiah 14:12-15. He also wants to destroy the other Angles that didn't rebel with him according to Daniel 10: 12-14! The antipathy that he has for us is for sure based on the fact of our being created in the "image," of God whereas they are merely heavenly creatures. We partake of life In The Most Holy Trinity in the perichoresis you mentioned! This antipathy though is against mankind in general and anything Good!
Thank you again for the video! I look forward to watching more!
    God Bless you!

This is such a great study. Thank you. I don’t understand how I missed this. Apparently, I’d given it a thumbs up a while ago but hadn’t listened to it? It’s so interesting and makes so much sense. Thanks.

"Interpenetration" of Heaven with earth is only as the Lord - Heavenly Man- comes into our Life and heart by invitation! We understand the Lord ONLY by LAYING ASIDE our previous concepts from our rational understanding - and study the Gospels! AFTER asking the Lord Jesus Christ to take our life as an "offering" (Romans 12:1), then, we ask Hiim to Baptize us in the Holy Spirit so that He may guide us "Into all the Truth"(Jn 16:13). Only then, may we read wtih Holy "eyes" of the heart the Gospels, especially the Gospel of St. John, the Beloved. Any philosophical understanding of our ego as spanning heaven and earth - is a symptom of our sickness which the Fall of Adam passed along to us! Heaven comes to earth when the HEAVENLY MAN, the God-Man Jesus Christ, comes into our material/spiritual being as we invite Him in!! HE is heaven, our Paradise, our Life extending into Eternity, but beginning with our earthly life offered to Him! READ GOSPELS, "TODAY" IS THE TIME OF HIS HUMAN ACTIONS WHICH ARE ETERNAL since He IS God as well as Man!! This is the Revelation of Who God is , and what Heaven and His Kingdom mean - not our concept (tower of BAbel exemplifies this)!

As what Bible is best to read? We use Mother Mariam's scholarly translation with endnotes from the Orthodox Fathers (no Augustine thankfully since he is neo-platonist ). Amazon.com has copies, but the Holy Apostles Convent in Buena Vista CO is the "home" of good Orthodox books: NT (2 volumes) Gospel and Epistles are about $40. The endnotes are INVALUABLE in understanding the Apostlolic comprehension of Christ's life, parables, hearings and Passion/Resurrection; Acts and epistles' commentaries are life-changing in their insight into St. Paul and others. www.holyapostlesconvent.org is the website. Thanks be to God for their work for the Holy Faith in these translations!

My husband, Fr. James is our priest; we are under the Greek Orthodox Church, the canonical church (some have tried to call us "UNcanonical" so watch out for slander that is ongoing in our area against us). We are under Archbishop Elpidophoros the exarch now here in America. God keep you from every harm., and all of us. With loving prayer, Presb'a Irene

Our Ministry has the "River of Fire" by Dr. Alexander Kalomiros and "The Soul, Body and Death" by Archbishop Lazar; the former uses both OT (i.e. Ezekiel,) and New (i.e. Revelation) to explain the experience of the Presence of the Lord either of Fire or of Light and warmth, according to our conscience and repentance that we live out in our lives. The latter is a more lengthy examination of the theology of the Fathers concerning Death and life with God waiting for the bodily resurrection at His Second coming. We would ask for a donation for the latter book, of $20 to cover our own costs but if you send your address, we will be sure to send along a copy.

Questions about what to read: Holy Apostles convent in Buena Vista CO publishes an excellent translation directly from the Greek (NT volumes I and II) with all-valuable ENDNOTES from the Orthodox Fathers - without Augustine of Hippo who not part of the Patristic teachers. These are incredibly important to learn the understanding from the Apostles of their own words and the Word of God given to us by Christ in His Gospels. The Fathers speak with the One Voice of the Holy Spirit: highly recommended as unique and Soul-food! Elder Aemilianos' works "Life in the Spirit" and "church at Prayer" are wonderful sermons in a collection from Greece; "Entrance into the Orthodox Church" by Met Vlachos is a quick study of necessary Orthodox teachings in order to both enter in and to keep sacred trust of the Faith as handed down to us by the Holy Spirit! "Icon as Scripture" is another "Can't live without" book by Archbishop Lazar (write to our Orthodox Mission Library for a copy at PO Box 2395 Santa Maria CA 93457 - a donation is welcomed but not required). This book is historical, based on Scriptural references in our prayer life and services... so much more. Contact us for more resources for your studies!

We highly recommend - what is irreplaceable to us as Orthodox believers - the New Testament available at holyapostlesconvent.org, Mother Mariam the greek scholar recognized as above most others. The most invaluable about the Volumes I (Gospel) and Vol. II (Apostolos etc) are the endnotes from the Orthodox Fathers including Sts Chrysostom, Basil, Irenaeios of Lyon (our special spiritual Father from apostolic sources) and EXclusing Augustine of Hippo who is an anomaly among the Orthodox Fathers for his philosophical interpretation of Scriptures giving us "Filioque', "Original Guilt (Sin)" and so many other false teachings which have sent the RC papacy into heretical waters. Please write for a copy to the above link, and/or Amazon.com also has copies.
