- Our friends at @NorthEastFPV are expanding into full unboxing videos to compliment their flight reviews and cool chase video's and for HobbyKing it kicks off with the new 800mm Hawker Tempest. Link to North East FPV's original video and channel before, where you can also see their flight reviews.
The H-King 800mm Tempest is the latest addition to our line of 750-800mm park flyer warbirds and not only feature looks as aggressive as the full-sized but lots of scale detail and rock-solid flight performance thanks to the pre-installed ORX Gyro, as standard on the entire range.
It's in stock in all warehouses and with parts support right now:

The H-King Hawker Tempest is based on a Mk V clipped wing version that came into service in 1944. The Tempest is a later version of the Typhoon which was found to lack performance at altitude. They fitted a new thinner laminar flow wing which gave it a marked improvement over the Typhoon even with the same Napier Sabre engine. The Tempest was at the forefront of the battle against the V1 flying bombs flying at a low level. The Tempest emerged as one of the most powerful fighters of World War II and was the fastest single-engine propeller-driven aircraft of the war at low altitude. The markings of the H-King Tempest JN751 RB depicts the aircraft that was flown by Wg Cdr R.P.Beaumont OC of 150 Wing based at Newchurch in England in 1944. In this particular aircraft, Beaumont scored most of his 31 V1 claims including the very first air-to-air claim on 8th June 1944.
There is little to build with the H-King Hawker Tempest, it comes 97% pre-built, and as mentioned before it has the motor, ESC, servos, and the ORX pre-installed. All you need to do is fit the main wing, tail assembly, and plug in the main landing gear. To complete the model you require your own transmitter, receiver, and flight battery, after that everything else is included.
It has the power to do all the maneuvers required for a World War II fighter and looks fantastic in the air. The stabilization system makes it very smooth and easy to fly and because of its size it is perfect for local parks, large indoor areas, or the local flying patch.

Good to see HobbyKing on the up and up. 24 months and this is is the latest new release. Well done. Worth the wait.
(Me doing unboxing) very impressed with this model, battery used was a 800 & now 850 3s nano tech, this is now the first model I put in the car when I go flying! It’s outperforming bigger models in windy conditions with the built in stability, takeoffs and landing with the fixed gear are mint. I spent a few minutes with an airbrush and Matt black to add some weathering and a little silver paint marker to add some chipping effects.
Mint little model, I am looking to buy more of this series, come on hobby king bring out some more ( BF109 please please).
Forgot to add with the 850 3s battery 8 mins cruse or 5mins with the throttle opened up
Any thoughts on throws and CG? In the video you guys said you were just guessing, I'm wondering what you ended up with after a few flights? And what sized batteries did you like?
Hi Clayton , using a nanotech 850 3s all the way forward , 100% throws 60% expo, c of g was 60mm. Flys great!
Excellent content! Thanks so much.
Rich.
Yep we had great fun making this video, and the model surpassed all our expectations, great detail on such a small and very cheap plane, and the flight characteristics were fantastic in the high winds. well done hobbyking and well done NEFPV team great work.
Excellent job NORTHEAST FPV!!! Great looking plane HobbyKing, with super finish and flight characteristics, beautiful maiden flight but expect no less from these awesome guys, thanks all for sharing 👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼🏆🏆🔥💥
Thanks, you too!
Well done North East FPV! Another great unboxing video. Looks like a nice little plane, and an unusual subject 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Great unboxing guys, love how quick this goes together, Thank you
Our pleasure!
That looks awesome and very cool hope the maidan flight goes well 👍👍
richard brown it did very well, great flyer even in the wind. First model in my car every trip from now on.
Thanks 👍
That looks real sweet, I’ll be very tempted 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Great job guys and she is a beautiful bird.
just purchased mine - It looks very much like the FMS 800mm Tempest from about 6 years ago - but that did not have a stabilizer .... thanks for the Video
Loved the Hawker Tempest when I was doing my WW2 Airplane projects at school, and I had all the WW2 Airfix kits of all the plane’s, British, German, Japanese etc in the 60s, oooops, giving away my age there lol
will wait for the version with retracts, nice job
Planes this size don’t get retracts mate, some people have done diy retracts on them otherwise you will have to buy a much bigger plane that has them already installed
Cute little thing. I know exposed servos are commonplace but they look awful on a scale model with lots of detail - a grey decal to cover each one would be nice!
Thanks for the info!
Make one yourself I did too
Built mine - but would like to ask for some advice / information from you - I could not get mine to balance at 55mm C/G using the recommended Turnigy 800mah or 850mah batteries, in the end I had to add 20grams of weight to the bottom of the Cooling intake - how did you get yours to balance - I like watching the videos on how these things go together but no one seems to have any issues with getting the C/G in the correct place - and not many show how best to do this yet to fly it is one of the most important things to get right... any advice or help is most welcome
FlankerTanker hi, we used a 850 3s nanotech pack pushed all the way forward, C of g was about 60mm, within what the manual says, as far as throw go it was 100% on everything with 60% expo on the ailerons and elevators. Hope you maiden goes well , post on here how it goes, take off in beginner mode get some height and turn to stability mode.
Good luck.
just ordered for my first warbird. Will post videos!
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for your suggestions, please help us fill in the survey bit.ly/2Ic7AqV
I have a lemon rx receiver with stabilizer. I know not to turn the stabilizer on but where do I connect the Aileron, elevator, throttle, and F-Mode pins on my reciever? Especially the servo connectors with one pin?
Where can I buy your Sidewinder wing?
I’ve been trying to put an AR620 receiver in this thing with no luck. Which pins do the single white wire connectors use from the stabilizer to the receiver?
How to remove the thing which sitz before the propeller? this thing which is at the very top?
Cool airplane. Try recording the next video outside of the echo chamber...
My receiver wiring looked nothing like that....Only 1 wire for ailerons and other servos
I am sorry to hear about this. Can you please submit a ticket here - support.hobbyking.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - with your order number and contact details so we can troubleshoot and assist? Thanks
Canny we rockets there lads..... Why aye man......
The roundels on the underside of the wing are wrong, they should the same as the fuselage only without the yellow!
No retracts is a bit of a let down
jeff hines it’s a small light model, and for £80 you cannot expect everything. Don’t add the screw to the gear and you can just pull them out if you don’t want them and push them back in if you do.
