He put himself in this situation when he entered her home, then told her about the water on the stove.

I'll admit I'm not an expert by any means, and haven't a clue as to what to look for, but what bothers me is that I didn't see a woman with mental illness on the videos I've seen regarding Ms. Massey's murder. I saw a woman who followed directions to the letter, and a possibly sleep deprived person. No one at her funeral mentioned any mental illness either.
