My back ground is criminology. The police should give George a ticket and let him fight it in court. The rest was unnecessary. Arresting some1 for just $20 was of time and he can explain about $20 then (in court). George is not in court, the police is for using excessive force, that's why they were fired.
@@kaiharris9675 did you watch the clerk, Christopher Clark, give his testimony? Why does it matter if he was on drugs the whole world saw if be murdered in broad daylight I cannot with this. My God he was handcuffed not a threat if he is expressing he cannot breath get off his neck and take him in custody.
I totally agree. Seemed to me from the minute they approached Floyd’s car, the cops were overly aggressive. When they removed him from his car I think Floyd was having an anxiety and/or panic attack, which was why just trying to shove him into the back of the police car when he was still in a state of agitation was a mistake. Part of their training is to recognize this. The force may have been avoided all together if they had just taken more time to calm him down. I know they did let him sit for a few minutes before they took him over to the police vehicle, but obviously it wasn’t long enough. He should have been given a ticket or summons (or whatever it is they do for low level offenses) since according to his superiors who testified, a counterfeit $20 bill is not something they arrest you for anyway. Between being in a state of panic already (which causes quick, shallow breathing), being handcuffed, which we learned from other testimony also causes restricted breathing, and Derek’s knee on his neck for so long, of course he couldn’t breathe. It doesn’t matter what type of person George Floyd was, the actions (and inactions - no medical help) of the officers, especially Derek, killed this man. And 9 + 1/2 minutes is no mistake, or lack of judgement, especially from someone who had training and knew better. Just sayin’.

What happened to the cross examination of the younger Forensic Scientist that was supposed to resume prior to the break? I think her name was Mackenzie.
I mean right now Chauvin is presumed to be innocent in the U.S. Courts. The jury is the only group who can change that. If the judge ruled a mistrial, it would just end up tried somewhere else, at a later date. All the judge has the power to do is the sentencing, but even the jury decides upon life or death. Very interesting day for the defense. The pictures are showing a different view of the knee not being so much on the neck but a little below the neck and in-between the shoulder blades. Not sure how that will effect the prosecutions case but they didn't object much at all and during cross examination the prosecution really didn't even try to refute what the pictures showed.
I think they'll show that it wasn't only Chauvin's knee (though he didn't release when he should have causing a death) but that Chauvin's other knee and Keung's both knee are significant to the case. We've already heard how much weight could have been from Chauvin on Mr. Floyd but add in Keung's...

Derek Chauvin's background includes 18 misconduct complaints and two official letters of reprimand. He choked a child unconscious in 2017. He bashed another child on the head with a flashlight for refusing to get up. His 9.5 minute suffocation of a handcuffed George Floyd was completely against police policy & procedure.
As a former Marine Military Police Officer I was trained on the technique applied to George Floyd. The question the defense attorney needs to ask is " Can you tell from the video without a reasonable doubt that the officer has his weight entirely on the neck of George Floyd? If he was on one knee the answer would be yes. But here's the doubt, the officer is on 2 knees so can you tell from the video how much weight is distributed of the officer on each knee? The answer is NO! He may have most of his weight on the shoulder blade and very little weight on the neck. You can not tell from the video the weight distribution. This creates doubt as to whether the knee killed George or the drugs killed George. George became combative with the handcuffs on therefore this technique may have been warranted in relation to the strength of George which oftentimes drugs increase their strength to where it is difficult to control. So just because he was in handcuffs would not dictate total control of the suspect.

He wasn't claustrophobic in his own car, haha.
