I’m only a U.S. citizen but how can Chauvin be held responsible for Floyd’s ill health when a healthy person would likely have survived the restraint procedures?

George looks to be on meth until about the point he says his stomache hurt... His other pain comes from his heart dissease.. Not supposed to do extreme exercise...and holding him down may have kept him from dying sooner.. If George had thrashed around for ID say 5 minutes hed have fallen over dead and nit coming back... He may have luved longer because they restrained him.. Or no matter what they did... Hed have died at the same time... But as he died it was not from asphyxiation caused by their restraints .. Its true a healthier person would have survived.. And consider they had to guess what drugs he was on by how he acted because he didnt say what drugs he was in... But the change of pace in his breathing happened at the point the opioids kicked in that were absorbed through his mouth and throat.. Not in his stomache meaning a delay in effect.. If tge pills had nit ended up in the seat.. His death would be an overdose... But apparently it was for him.. This one time... But it only did that because of sleep deprivation and the heart and artery problem.. Most if his factors he never told them of.. So his fault.. And his choice to not say.. But the speed was why they handled him so aggressively...

According to the pulmonologist, Chauvin was doing something to Floyd’s left fingers to prevent him from breathing. I reviewed the video footage for confirmation and observed that numbskull held on to Floyd’s fingers and never let go until the paramedics signalled him to get off the body. He must get his 40 years or more.

      Your correct.
During cross-examination, defense attorney Eric Nelson showed side-by-side videos of the moment that Chauvin got up off Floyd as paramedics arrived and placed him on a gurney. Arradondo agreed that one officer's bodycam footage of that moment appeared to show Chauvin's knee more on Floyd's shoulder blade than on his neck.
But Arradondo said that a review of the full footage showed Chauvin's knee on Floyd's neck up until that time, pinning Floyd in a manner that is not a trained Minneapolis Police Department neck restraint.

      1. Excessive force used
      2 Inaccurate restraint technique used
      3. Failing to stop restraint once he subdued Floyd
      4. Failing to start CPR as soon as Floyd was unresponsive
Also, regardless of existing addiction or health issues , there is a legal 'Duty of Care' for detainees health & welfare, so he breached that legal requirement too: for all the same reasons.. I totally agree. Seemed to me from the minute they approached Floyd’s car, the cops were overly aggressive. When they removed him from his car I think Floyd was having an anxiety and/or panic attack, which was why just trying to shove him into the back of the police car when he was still in a state of agitation was a mistake. Part of their training is to recognize this. The force may have been avoided all together if they had just taken more time to calm him down. I know they did let him sit for a few minutes before they took him over to the police vehicle, but obviously it wasn’t long enough. He should have been given a ticket or summons (or whatever it is they do for low level offenses) since according to his superiors who testified, a counterfeit $20 bill is not something they arrest you for anyway. Between being in a state of panic already (which causes quick, shallow breathing), being handcuffed, which we learned from other testimony also causes restricted breathing, and Derek’s knee on his neck for so long, of course he couldn’t breathe. It doesn’t matter what type of person George Floyd was, the actions (and inactions - no medical help) of the officers, especially Derek, killed this man. And 9 + 1/2 minutes is no mistake, or lack of judgement, especially from someone who had training and knew better. Just sayin’.

Derek Chauvin's background includes 18 misconduct complaints and two official letters of reprimand. He choked a child unconscious in 2017. He bashed another child on the head with a flashlight for refusing to get up. His 9.5 minute suffocation of a handcuffed George Floyd was completely against police policy & procedure.

As a former Marine Military Police Officer I was trained on the technique applied to George Floyd. The question the defense attorney needs to ask is " Can you tell from the video without a reasonable doubt that the officer has his weight entirely on the neck of George Floyd? If he was on one knee the answer would be yes. But here's the doubt, the officer is on 2 knees so can you tell from the video how much weight is distributed of the officer on each knee? The answer is NO! He may have most of his weight on the shoulder blade and very little weight on the neck. You can not tell from the video the weight distribution. This creates doubt as to whether the knee killed George or the drugs killed George. George became combative with the handcuffs on therefore this technique may have been warranted in relation to the strength of George which oftentimes drugs increase their strength to where it is difficult to control. So just because he was in handcuffs would not dictate total control of the suspect.
