Your are awesome really good info I actually took a 046 big bore kit and put it on a o44 it was a bugger it ran likwme a raped monkey I ran it for quit awhile it blew up it sucked a carb screw and ate the piston

Unfortunately, I was told via email from the official sawfest 2022 page that there was no more room for spectators/ general public. From WA I have been considering making one like that saw myself it would be a beast of a saw with a little less weight than the ms660. And wonder if it would be possible for a 56mm piston on a ms460 probably need a ms660 cylinder also 🤔. However have fun 👍

Harv just a thaught fly wheel too light for what your trying to move. Try a 046 attic flywheel they are a bit heavier by a oz or so might help out that idle and starting or put on a newer ms 260 coil I can’t remember if it was the Ducati coils or bosh that have the 3 step timing curve built into them 12,24,32’ timing
I guess go ahead and put the standard handle on there Iron Man .. first thing I'm gonna do with it when I get it is fire it up and start honking that big air horn ! 😅👍
Ironhorse did you get that 82 cc 046 running right. I listen to you try to start that 046 saw I said I believe you need to reduce your intake volume even more. I have been reshaping my intakes and reducing the volume to create more velocity with great success I saw Aaron lynch build a Stihl 460 with a 660 piston and he said you have to reduce the intake timing to about 71-73 degrees. Then the saw with run. 78 degrees will not run.
Would cc ing the combustion chamber be beneficial for getting an idea of where your at for compression? You know, cut a apiece of Plexiglas for the cylinder and using a graduated cylinder for adding water. Using brake clean to clean your hands drives me Krazy.
I don't know if this is the problem Harvey but my still did the same thing kept shutting off like that and it ended up being bad bad gas in a new fuel filter
Hi i have a custom engine a chung yang gp460 modified to use a stihl ts400 concrete saw cylinder and i also run a +1mm stroker crank that ends up the same stroke as the ts400 stock crank. Ive been having a machinest make me billet intake blocks to mount to the circle port of the cylinder and let me run cylinder reed kits. Problem is even when clamped, jb welded and bolted into place the massive vibrations and intake system weight make it break loose and air leak. Only fix ive done is just modify the crankcase to use the reed kit. But i was looking to try to make a piston port non reed version, already have it all built just need a intake manifold for the stock circle port. Any suggestions on what intakes fit besides just the ts400 stock intake?

I built a farmertec ms460 big bore with a 660 piston about a year ago ..makes an awesome saw🤙🏻😎... West Virginia country hillbilly here
I built the same thing. Absolutely love mine. Even runs a 36” bar every once in awhile. But mainly a 28”

The correct term for .0015 is 15 tenths. If that what you you mean by 1.5 thousands. Also its wolf creek saw shop not wolf creek supply.

If you got bad gas. Then maybe there is a little water in the carb from the bad gas. Making it hard to start.
