Starting to look good, Josh. Isn’t $1000 a day kind of overpriced for just rental on the truck? I think it would be closer to maybe $75 an hour. I would also still like to see Kyle from R&R buildings come out and build you a fantastic barn, dominium.
I’m not sure what is everybody else think?
I’m sure the $1K included the driver! And the miles and fuel. So not a bad deal, probably on the cheaper end of the scale.
If he did if for less he just as well stay home. Wouldn't that be considered a tri axle, a tandem is two.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer, R&R makes some beautiful buildings. Although your barndominium is going to be just as sweet. In the end it’s what you want, and what works for your plans. Just Say’n 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Not bad at all--remember you are getting free dirt and someone to load it at the other end. 75 an hour--that truck sure wouldn't make a profit
I'm the dump truck driver. It was a pleasure to meet josh, very good guy and a pleasure to work for. Beautiful farm keep up the good work brother.
thanks buddy!!
Looks good enjoy watching the video You both done a great job
Looks great! Best wishes.
For my love of heavy equipment, I live vicariously through Josh! 💪😁
1 Mil subs gettin closer!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
getting close!
Hey Josh! THAT was a lot of dirt to move... but it NEVER ceases to amaze me how relaxing it is to watch it being smoothed out & put where it is needed! Flashbacks to my days in the Sand Pile & Tonka Trucks! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Well Done!
Thanks 👍
I’ve been the excavation business for 41years.
I’ve had people get indigent that I charge for dirt, my reply is the dirt is free, in reality your paying for a truck, loader, insurance, overhead, fuel,CDL requirements ect ect!
Most people don’t realize what tags on a dump truck cost either. In my situation it’s about 1800.00 per year plus a 500.00 permit to move equipment.
When people say do you think you own the road l say not at all just more of it than you do.
Here in Mississippi you would have to pay $400-$800 per load, so $1k per day is a heck of a deal for 10-12 loads
RD MACK .... IS HOW I GOT THE NAME "FLIP" Back in 1997 ...
6 axle.... "IT'LL NEVER GO OVER" Until the ground gave out... 😂😊
lol...the will roll brother!
I'm used to dirt being talked about in yards of material, I knew a family in Texas simular they had poor soil on their ranch ; state was building roads in areas with excellent top soil they had to set grade down and freely dumped many tens of thousands of yards of soil on their entire ranch also graded it their entire property became excellent farm & ranch property no charge very awesome for their ranch.
Nice Grading Job
That's a lot of dirt, turned out great.
Awesome and outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along.
Hard worker !! That’s allot of dirt to spread ! But in time sure u will get it just how u want it 👍🏼👊🏻-like watching someone work hard ✝️
Dirt Monkey should have made a guest appearance.
Looks great Josh. You are going to have a awesome yard
learned a lesson the first time...I need to do this to my front yard!
You're correct Josh, those don't seem like full loads! Here in Florida i've been paying 185-200 a load, 18yrds
Looks great. Good work Josh!
KLW
Awesome video Josh, entertaining for us, damn hard work for you.
Great project Josh, you will have one nice lawn behind the mega shop. The work you have done to your property in the short amount of time you have owned it is a testament of your work ethic. Really impressive. Great Job!😊
thanks Russell...it's been a challenge for sure....more dirt moving coming this week!
Super job!!
EXCELLENT entertainment, as always!!
It looks GREAT Josh. You dun dun good. God bless you Josh.
Good job, great dirt work.
Good job Josh at least you know how to operate. Wheel loaders are for loading track machines are for grading
You got some nice dirt delivered
Both the RD690 Mack & Mack Granite in the video are classed as A Tri Axle dump in my area . on a Tri Axle dump we are allowed 74.5K (24.5 tons of material) in my area . But bridge laws ( weight laws) vary from state to state . Good video Josh
Mack
Excellent job Josh it looks great , i live in New York and around here it would cost $1000 for about 2 loads of dirt like that delivered and price of dirt. So $1000 dollars a day and roughly 200 tons of dirt is a great price.
great my friend. You are truly invested in your work
Shiloh Airport is giving that much dirt away. I need about 5 dump truck loads myself. You need to get Foothill Waste Solutions to replace that WM dumpster. Their prices are more competitive than WM. Wrays Concrete has all of your business
Cool great to have that job behind you , cheers David
The end looks nice. My farm is full of ridges and valleys right now. I'm slowly getting it, tho. A good part of it is all the rocks I've pulled out. It's almost like I'm on top of an abandoned rock quarry! I've been working hard on this lil farm. But, got some potatoes growing. Got a few aubergines growing too, which is nice. Man...NOW someone finally told me. I was wondering why my aubergines have had so many pests. Treehoppers, aphids, ants, flea beatles, white flies, mealybugs, snails, slugs, even found a tobacco hornworm! About the only thing I haven't seen on my aubergines has been cabbage worms! I better not say that too loud, it might give them ideas!
Looks the the perfect garden now haha looks good!
Nice SunGlasses.
You make it look easy!, fast worker
Good morning!
🌹🌹🌹🌹
Was hear. Wooooo
I'm doing this next
That land leveler is an awsome attachment😊
Looks great wish i lived closer to you give you a hand moving dirt key word helped
Every Little Boys Dream. Dirt and Toys to Play in the Dirt with!🤣
amen!! Somebody left a comment asking me "Are you happy....I see all your stuff but are you happy?" Uh ....heck yeah this is fun!!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer They're just jealous. You have toys to play with!🤣
When you busted out the scrapie line maker thing I’m like MAN, he’s just showing off now! 😂🤣😂 looks awesome
lol...you mean the land leveler....it does great doesn't it!
Very nice!!
I wondered what that attachment was for!
worked great didn't it!
looking good Josh, looking good
hi there A dirty job . lol well done best to all john
That looks awesome
I could take a JD 450 or CAT D-4 and have you skating on it in a couple of hours. To make it just right, a few grade stakes and slope it anyway you like. One thing I learned in my construction life, proficiency on a bulldozer of any size. Bucket loaders and scrapers can do great work but only one other machine can make it better than the bulldozer, MOTORGRATER.
a dozer does do a great job!
Great job
Great Job Josh. It is amazing with all that dirt and usually when you're done you wonder, where did it all go?
easy to make dirt disappear that's for sure!
Wonder if you could use a manure spreader and some of that dirt where you have less top soil and lower spots. I really think that could help some of your worse areas and where the cows create trails or worn areas.
Turned out good for this segment. I hope you don't have any rocks in there, but if so would you run a power rake through all of the fill?
Does that face south? Screw mowing yard, make it a garden and add the chicken run with removable panels to harvest the compost from woodchips and sawdust. Heck of a project.
faces north actually...it will be in grass and eventually a driveway will come up the hill
Of course they are bringing you half loads, they are all good for that....
oh these guys are pretty darn good.....I think the first load was a little light, but the rest were great. The driver was a bit timid. That could be the issue
Nice job.
Nice Work
That's a lot of dirt work!
Like on loads, you probably can get another two thousand pounds
WooooooHeeeeeeeHeeeeeee!Alright!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗
Nice job josh🎉
Thanks! Just wait till next weekend..the whole landscape is going to change behind the shop!
Good video
Just a suggestion, you probably have already done this, but if you haven't you will appreciate this suggestion. If that new dirt gets rained on and splashes up on your barn dominium, you can expect your tin to get permanently stained by the soil splash. Best to you!
Thanks! Great point
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Personally, I prefer a coating of screenings from your local rock quarry. They are usually fairly priced, spreads easily, and won't blow away in the wind as straw. But if you have a couple of nails lying around, I've put down a lot of straw through the years as well. Best to you!
That's really enterprising using the local airport project; the power of your videography! WOW! A person needs to be a bit of a sculptor to do that! Let me ask you Josh. Regarding your Outdoor Kitchen. Why are the vertical timbers for it not on the "Piles", Concrete supports, but seem to have a 'bolt' holding the weight? Wondered that before, either you answered it in previous and missed it etc. When Dad build this place he used rebar drilled into timbers (so it wouldn't shift or jump ha), Concrete braces, but the wood was always set on the concrete. Tommy Boy quote, "For the Love of God, WHY?!?!". lol Have a good one Wooo!
those are a specific type of mount for the pillars that hold the building in place
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Commander Spock says 'illogical'! Define- 'Specific mount'.
Hey Josh you everything about making that super a Farmall a nice lawn ornament from Gary
it's gonna be up here by the shop soon...surrounded with rocks and cactus!
7:37 'Safety first.' Ok. Where's your hardhat? Where's your orange reflective waistcoat?
no helmet on the 4 wheeler too!! OMG!!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Mr Tabby the Director of Site Safety wants to have some words with you. And yes, I ALWAYS wear my hard hat when I'm on the farm.
You should try putting a solar panel on that mobile chicken coop that way you would have power wherever you put it 😂😅
yep...it's in the plans, however takes a pile of power to run that light
It's never polite to talk about finances but let me say you're living the dream x10 🍻
I managed clearing and developing 50ish acres on the families 340 acres so know the life. Tell you the truth I'd like to do it again with around 100 acres. My question though is are you happy? There are a lot of things like the Mega Shop but are you happy.
You surely make me happy in this down time and I owe you so thanks. Just want to make sure you are truly happy. No need to answer. Just think about it and be sure bud 🍻
Mostly like it because of the attitude. Ain't work! It's fun!
lol....Am I happy? I'm the happiest I've ever been my friend....every day presents a new and interesting challenge...I earn a living doing what I love...life is so good! I'm dating a nice woman who cares about me and makes me feel good about myself. The "things" you see are what I enjoy doing...these "things" all serve a purpose and I'm living my best life! We all have ups and downs, I'm up! But I'm worn out lol
Put the bucket back on
👍
Nice job! I tried tried to include an Emoji And it said I have to pay. LOL!
hmmm......now that's interesting 😯 Maybe I can use emoji because I pay for RUclips Premium..not a fan of ads sometimes
I'm not sure of your plans, but is a lawn practical? Thinking ahead. Lawn near the mega, regen towards the woods?
no lawn is practical, nor is a flower bed..this is about 2 things...making water shed appropriately and beautification...at some point we'll probably have a venue here and the place needs to be well landscaped
JOSH, how is the EPA ruling going to affect your operation and future plans?
I don’t know anything about any EPA ruling
I sent you an email with where to look for info on what the EPA is doing.
If u only knew what u were doing with the skid loader😂😂
I know....thanks, I'll take some lessons next week lol
Sounds like you got rookered there, Josh. Promised 18 ton loads and only got 16??
nope....I just mispoke buddy
Did you really just have that dump truck run over those drain lines!?
yep....they're all buried up pretty deep
I am 61 don't think i have seen dirt that red but i do live in Canada not sure if that means anything
red clay is pretty prevalent here
My neighbor just burned down their barn losing all their chickens because they hung their heat lamp using plastic zip ties. Best to use baling wire.
man...that's a bummer
That's right not a full load at all
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
what have you done about your tractor deal last i seen tym steped away for some reason
no more TYM partnership, but I'll keep on running the tractors for sure
did not know if they wanted the tractors back or what happen @@StoneyRidgeFarmer
A prop is on an airplane, not a
Skid steer. 😢
so why didn't you clean up this mess before the dirt?
Dump truck drivers can spread the load for you rather than pile it up in one spot.
Next time…..
didn't want to spread it my man....can't have a 16 ton dump truck compacting my future lawn...that's the real scoop
Go native with your "lawn" back there
I'm gonna go fescue lol
booo lol
Dump truck is not even full.
a lot of country nc road bridges/culverts have a 12-17 wt limit
ton
it's about not being over weight for the law man to catch ya! I'm happy with what I got for sure!
