This is one of those dramas that really touch the strings of your heart. It reinstates the way we should perceive life in a not so dramatic way. It has realism and a bit of drama and comedy to make it really interesting and fun to watch. A drama that addresses the hardships we face in our professional life even after working so hard and giving it our all, we can take a slump. Depression is not talked about enough in our real lives and I love the way this drama centralises mental health, but so subtly through the comic, romantic, and dramatic storytelling, that it is automatically perceived in the subconscious mind. At the end of the day we can change our lives by the way we look at it, by accepting ourselves in our failures and fears. Also the chemistry betn the leads is so adorable. Park hyun sik is the bubbly lovable guy, but also charismatic and charming. Park shin hye has Portrayed her introverted but strong character so well, that u can’t help but fall in love with her. The second couple is also really adorable. I really loved the way that the drama gives closure to each and every character. It is a well rounded story, that can really refresh our minds and make us feel strong enough to face our own worlds. It’s really hard to describe my emotions about the drama in words. U will know when u watch it. Certainly will rewatch it when I will feel low.

This drama is multilayered with a beautiful feel good love story wrapped around a journey to Heal our mental health, family bonding, childhood memories, ambitions, friendships, and well rounded closures to each and every character. What a beautifully written story. It is underrated. I really wish more and more dramas are written like it .

What i love about this drama that it is realistic, we all faced burnout and emotional crisis or depression and lose of hope at some point. I think watching them will be healing indeed. And perfect acting of course! As expected from Hyungsik and Shinhye❤
I agree it's a heavy drama because it feels relatable to real life but there is enough comedic relief to get through the heavy moments. I usually don't like drama with hospital settings but I guess they are in the slump so maybe they will only partially be in the hospital. But I am so impressed by Park Hyung Sik's acting, that I ended up watching Strong Girl Do Bong Soon. I already saw so many clips floating around RUclips, so I figured I might as well watch the whole thing. And the drama was great. The music was so-so but everything else like was the acting, chemistry, cinematography and the comedy was good. I was surprised to see the cellist plays the best friend Young Seo in Business Proposal.

Yesterday I rewatched his part in Heirs posted by SBS channel, I never noticed he's that good back then, as it is literally very start of his career. Always very natural acting. Try watching more projects he's in, I recommend Suits, Jurors/Juror 8, Happiness, Soundtrack#1. If you like historical dramas also Our Blooming Youth (he is gorgeous) and Hwarang (lighter/more comedy type). I would also personally suggest to try What Happens to My Family (with Hyungsik and Yoon Park) - it is old style kdrama, not Netflix type, but this is similar to Dr.Slump as great comedy too (I bet you will love Dalbong and his sister's line), nice romantic story (love triangle with Seo Kangjun) and has great deep message about relationship with parents and about life itself. It is a rare gem for me.
honestly i was feeling very low but seeing them together in a drama after so many years and that to be a medical rom com genre nothing could have cheer me up better than this....i really wanna watch it...and I'm looking forward to it very much now....
Love it how the drama especially highlights depression. It's a mental health issue that should really be focused on especially in the Korean entertainment industry where every year we see some or other artist commit suicide.

I am a medical student applying for internship... since my first year in primary school I studied so hard, being a top student was my goal always, I don't learn how to do anything but study. Today I learnt that I failed the exam I worked 6 months for... I have been sleeping 5 hours a day for the last month, sometimes I would just be so tired that I sleep eyes open while holding my book before I realise it and hold my awakeness again. I have been studying all day for the last 5 months, my myopia got worst, my hair fell, lost weight... the stress even made me have my period after 19 days from the previous one... when I felt emotional and overwhelmed by studying I would cry without stopping my reading to avoid wasting time... the last month I even avoided drinking water to reduce peeing time (I sobbed so hard at the part where she did avoid liquid coffee for the same reason since I didn't think it was something someone else could think of), and I couldn't drink coffee because it gives me tachycardia which worries me. Didn't leave the house at all before my exam since mid december, and before that I didn't leave it for 2 months. now I just don't know what to do anymore, I did the best I could, I have no regrets. But failing makes me feel stupid and dumb, what was I even doing for the last 6 months! Watching this 1st episode gave me so much consolation! I just feel that this episode airing exactly today was meant to comfort me! I now want to stop everything (just like they will be doing next eps I guess) and focus on myself for once, I will restore the youth I forgot to live and be happy for what I have. Also they are fellows and still have hard time so I dont think medical career will get easier anytime soon anyways for me too, so better stop and take a deep breath for now!
You definitely need a break. Sometimes the pressure is self-inflicted. During primary school, I cried when I got a B on my art project because I only used blue and white in my mandala. I did not accept the grade because blue and white looks better than random clashy rainbow colours so I didn't understand why I got a B. It's just a piece of art so why was I so upset? Maybe I was too used to getting praised that not getting rewarded as expected upset me. After that, I started adjusting my own expectations. I still work hard but I stopped expecting the ideal and instead mentally prepare myself for what ifs and back up plans. I had to take a 4 and 5 hour exam for 3 consecutive days. The pressure made it hard to sleep on the nights before the exam but I forced myself to rest for the best mental condition. I did come out of the exam feeling unsure if I did well but I went in knowing that the exam was designed to be hard so they can test if you can answer the most critical issues under time pressure and I just need to perform better than average. Maybe I got used to this mental preparation but I was emotionally unfazed on the exam result release date. In the end, the exam was a validation of my competence but it does not define me, just one part of me at a moment in time and we are always changing and improving. Don't make the exam the most important thing in your life because the purpose of the exam is to confirm your qualifications to become a professional. The end goal though is to become a professional. And a professional doesn't stop learning when one exam is done, it's a life-long learning process. Don't sacrifice your health for one exam because having enough sleep and food will give you a clear head and the long-term energy you need to solve any problem. If you didn't make it that one time, maybe you just need more time to get there. Maybe you just need to do a self reflection and get to know yourself better in terms of your weaknesses and address them. So take care and don't doubt yourself too much! For me, balancing work and play is still a challenge but I try to consider making the balancing act work. Watching the first two episodes did make my heart feel heavy becaue it's very relatable (not that I have ever been in that situation) but I think I will enjoy watching PSH (Ha Neul) and PHS (Jung Woo) overcome their slump together.

I can't agree more about the self-inflicted pressure, the expectations and perfectionism ( I actually deliberately didn't make a back up plan, because making one felt as if I were discouraging myself and being ready to fail which I didn't accept) Now a few weeks later, I feel so much better ! I am taking a break ! I am reflecting about that exam, my motivations, my hobbies and what I love to do... Instead of feeling disappointed about the results, I am feeling sorry for what I made myself go through I am glad I realised that now and not later, there is more to life than just work, and it's not like I didn't know that before but I allowed my self to overlook it, which was wrong. It's okay to be ambicious but always remember what your priorities are. Let's be happy and healthy!
Now 8months later I should say I had the best 8 months since ever going into med school ! I enjoyed the blessings I had and I met a looot of good people I probably wouldnt have met if I succeeded that exam... At the end, my life is more than just an exam Sometimes we over invest our emotions and health and time into a future we hope for, however there is always an unexpected tomorrow either we got what we want or not At some point I forgot I had a present and was only focused on the future I dont know if I am put on a similar situation again will I over invest again since it's how I grew... but at least I will try not to Hope you find peace too
came back after watching first 2 episodes and i was worried that 5 min trailer spoiled so much but IT WAS NOT THE CASE. this is absolutely great and refreshing i m happy its not some copy paste like what recent kdramas have been that's one great thing about healing dramas they always have unique plots. PSH and PHS looks great together truly the queen and king of romcoms.
After watching this series it’s easy to see why park Hyung -sik is so popular with audiences…compared to alot of other male actors he conveys a charming emotionally charged person. He is playful, emotional, charming, forceful when need be and brings the role to believability. I have seen so many male leads who appear a little wooden, stoic, emotionally repressed next to him, he is believable because most people exhibit real emotion. His best and strongest roles are the ones involving comedy.🎉

I would also personally suggest to try What Happens to My Family (with Hyungsik and Yoon Park) - it is old style kdrama, not Netflix type, but this is similar to Dr.Slump as great comedy too (I bet you will love Dalbong and his sister's line), nice romantic story (love triangle with Seo Kangjun) and has great deep message about relationship with parents and about life itself. It is a rare gem for me.

Love it how the drama especially highlights depression. It's a mental health issue that should really be focused on especially in the Korean entertainment industry where every year we see some or other artist commit suicide.

since my first year in primary school I studied so hard, being a top student was my goal always, I don't learn how to do anything but study.
Today I learnt that I failed the exam I worked 6 months for...
I have been sleeping 5 hours a day for the last month, sometimes I would just be so tired that I sleep eyes open while holding my book before I realise it and hold my awakeness again. I have been studying all day for the last 5 months, my myopia got worst, my hair fell, lost weight... the stress even made me have my period after 19 days from the previous one... when I felt emotional and overwhelmed by studying I would cry without stopping my reading to avoid wasting time...
the last month I even avoided drinking water to reduce peeing time (I sobbed so hard at the part where she did avoid liquid coffee for the same reason since I didn't think it was something someone else could think of), and I couldn't drink coffee because it gives me tachycardia which worries me. Didn't leave the house at all before my exam since mid december, and before that I didn't leave it for 2 months.
now I just don't know what to do anymore, I did the best I could, I have no regrets. But failing makes me feel stupid and dumb, what was I even doing for the last 6 months!
Watching this 1st episode gave me so much consolation! I just feel that this episode airing exactly today was meant to comfort me!
I now want to stop everything (just like they will be doing next eps I guess) and focus on myself for once, I will restore the youth I forgot to live and be happy for what I have. Also they are fellows and still have hard time so I dont think medical career will get easier anytime soon anyways for me too, so better stop and take a deep breath for now!
You definitely need a break. Sometimes the pressure is self-inflicted. During primary school, I cried when I got a B on my art project because I only used blue and white in my mandala. I did not accept the grade because blue and white looks better than random clashy rainbow colours so I didn't understand why I got a B. It's just a piece of art so why was I so upset? Maybe I was too used to getting praised that not getting rewarded as expected upset me. After that, I started adjusting my own expectations.
I still work hard but I stopped expecting the ideal and instead mentally prepare myself for what ifs and back up plans. I had to take a 4 and 5 hour exam for 3 consecutive days. The pressure made it hard to sleep on the nights before the exam but I forced myself to rest for the best mental condition. I did come out of the exam feeling unsure if I did well but I went in knowing that the exam was designed to be hard so they can test if you can answer the most critical issues under time pressure and I just need to perform better than average. Maybe I got used to this mental preparation but I was emotionally unfazed on the exam result release date. In the end, the exam was a validation of my competence but it does not define me, just one part of me at a moment in time and we are always changing and improving.
Don't make the exam the most important thing in your life because the purpose of the exam is to confirm your qualifications to become a professional. The end goal though is to become a professional. And a professional doesn't stop learning when one exam is done, it's a life-long learning process. Don't sacrifice your health for one exam because having enough sleep and food will give you a clear head and the long-term energy you need to solve any problem. If you didn't make it that one time, maybe you just need more time to get there. Maybe you just need to do a self reflection and get to know yourself better in terms of your weaknesses and address them. So take care and don't doubt yourself too much! For me, balancing work and play is still a challenge but I try to consider making the balancing act work.
Watching the first two episodes did make my heart feel heavy becaue it's very relatable (not that I have ever been in that situation) but I think I will enjoy watching PSH (Ha Neul) and PHS (Jung Woo) overcome their slump together.

I can't agree more about the self-inflicted pressure, the expectations and perfectionism ( I actually deliberately didn't make a back up plan, because making one felt as if I were discouraging myself and being ready to fail which I didn't accept)
Now a few weeks later, I feel so much better ! I am taking a break ! I am reflecting about that exam, my motivations, my hobbies and what I love to do... Instead of feeling disappointed about the results, I am feeling sorry for what I made myself go through
I am glad I realised that now and not later, there is more to life than just work, and it's not like I didn't know that before but I allowed my self to overlook it, which was wrong.
It's okay to be ambicious but always remember what your priorities are.

Now 8months later I should say I had the best 8 months since ever going into med school ! I enjoyed the blessings I had and I met a looot of good people I probably wouldnt have met if I succeeded that exam...
At the end, my life is more than just an exam
Sometimes we over invest our emotions and health and time into a future we hope for, however there is always an unexpected tomorrow either we got what we want or not
At some point I forgot I had a present and was only focused on the future
I dont know if I am put on a similar situation again will I over invest again since it's how I grew... but at least I will try not to

came back after watching first 2 episodes and i was worried that 5 min trailer spoiled so much but IT WAS NOT THE CASE. this is absolutely great and refreshing i m happy its not some copy paste like what recent kdramas have been that's one great thing about healing dramas they always have unique plots. PSH and PHS looks great together truly the queen and king of romcoms.
After watching this series it’s easy to see why park Hyung -sik is so popular with audiences…compared to alot of other male actors he conveys a charming emotionally charged person. He is playful, emotional, charming, forceful when need be and brings the role to believability. I have seen so many male leads who appear a little wooden, stoic, emotionally repressed next to him, he is believable because most people exhibit real emotion. His best and strongest roles are the ones involving comedy.🎉
