So , this is how Kuching looked like in 1960 , 11 years before I was born (26th Sept 1971) . If my late mother sees this , she would sure be too happy to relate the film to me . She died in 2006 at 63 , may God bless her soul .
If my still-living father sees this film , he too would cry watching .
Thank You Mister Rogge for uploading this film for posterity . May God bless you and you work Sir !

@@meekhinglim4829if it's under the british they will just exploited the resources and leave sarawak in poverty. Don't blame federal gov for the poor infrastructure instead blame the Sarawak gov especially Taib Mahmud because federal has distributed the fund to build sarawak

I was in Sarawak 7 years after this film was shot, a teenager from NZ, flying in from Singapore on a Comet jet. If my memory serves me correctly, that ATC building at the airport was still in use then. Returning in 2011, 44 years later, I can tell you that some of the urban roads and housing hadn't changed much at all. The traffic however was bedlam at times. Many fewer British cars too!

Sarawak, besides Sabah, were under non-Muslim majorities when gained self rule in 1963, their joining of Malaysia was a grave mistake.
