West German 19 year old Mathias Rust took a small plane and flew it over the Eastern bloc and landed in Red Square in the middle of Moscow on May 28, 1987. The officials are members of State Committee on the State of Emergency (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Committee_on_the_State_of_Emergency) they tried to stop reforms, overthrow Gorbachev and return USSR to staus quo by the attempt of Coup d'état. Gorbachev supported Sadam with a lot of arms and military advisers.

First Miss Soviet Union Beauty Pageant in 1988, held for the first time since the ban on them in 1959.
Boris Yeltsin in September of 1989 when he was grabbed by a group of men and thrown into the Moscow River. Yeltsin later denied that the men were trying to assassinate him, and insisted that they were playing a joke - a humiliating ordeal for him.
The head on train collision at the Koristovka train station in Odessa on November 6, 1986, killing 44 and injuring 100.
The collision of the cruise ship Admiral Nakhimov and the freighter Pyotr Vasev on August 31, 1986 on the Black Sea. The Admiral Nakhimov sank in just 7 minutes, killing 423 of the 1,234 aboard.
The Chernobyl nuclear disaster on April 26th, 1986.
The 1991 Soviet currency reform by finance minister, Valentin Pavlov. Intended to retire 50 and 100 ruble bank notes from circulation to fight against corruption, pilfering and black marketing. The reform was abrupt and rushed, prices also increased, killing any remaining public confidence in the government.
West German 19 year old Mathias Rust took a small plane and flew it over the Eastern bloc and landed in Red Square in the middle of Moscow on May 28, 1987. Gorbachev used this opportunity as an excuse to relieve multiple high ranking conservative military personnel in the government from their positions, helping him pave the way for his reforms.
The Sumgait Pogrom against the Armenian population in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan in 1988. @@devdixit2440 I think old lady is just typical descendant of russian emigrants (according to icon and white army symbols in her room). The officials are members of State Committee on the State of Emergency (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Committee_on_the_State_of_Emergency) they tried to stop reforms, overthrow Gorbachev and return USSR to staus quo by the attempt of Coup d'état. Gorbachev supported Sadam with a lot of arms and military advisers.
