As an Aussie this whole situation is so sad to me. There are so many local aussie bakeries right now that are struggling to make ends meet, but they hold such a special place in our communities. Australia is heavily exposed to American culture, so many movies and shows we watch are from America, with American actors, to the point that when we hear our own accent it throws us off. I think this whole situation highlights how the “mainstreamness” of America culture had its grip on Australians when we have so many incredible things here already

More people need to mention that Crumbl is owned by LDS members (Mormons), so 10% of their profits goes into the hundreds of billions of dollar corporation that is the Mormon Church. The church that refused to help their members during the panorama and insisted that their members still had to tithe 10% of all their income to the church or they would lose their temple privileges. I've watched so many of these vids going over it and no one has mentioned yet that if you want to sell food in Australia, you have to get licensing/certification from a govt body. Even food stalls at markets need it and most display it for clarity. This would not have been given licensing straight off the bat so there's another dodgy thing this lot have done.

The math ain't mathing with those numbers they provide. If they bought 700 cookies, which their receipts don't even match but that's another story, and sold them at $17.50 a piece, then they made $12,250. Their breakdown of expenses, just the numbers they provided alone, is $13,000. Last I checked, that's a complete loss of $750 and I didn't include the "more" in staff costs plus the extras they added on to the bottom of the list.

Yeah, the numbers don't make a lot of sense. $11.75 US per cookie sold, assume $5.50 US to buy, that's making $6.25 US per cookie. Sell 800 cookies, $5000 US. Okay, so how much is the flight back and forth? They claim they also paid customs fees. Did they pay to rent the venue? I don't see how this could be very profitable. At best, close to break even. Even if they lied and didn't pay anything but cookies and flights, they made what, a few thousand? And now they're going to have corporate lawyers after them. Good job guys.

As an Australian I am befuddled as to why there's so much hype for Crumbl coming here when we already have Brooki...

It was done by some dumbass 18 and 20 something year olds that thought it was gonna be a good business because they just did not think of all the costs before getting started. Of course they thought they were gonna make bank. it's too easy to make statements after being caught and I call BS on their "we just wanted to share with the fans"...

Unfortunate that it didn’t taste good, but the price isn’t actually that off. The Australian dollar is so weak, even compared to the Canadian dollar.

Something is def fishy bc if they are being honest about their costs (we know they aren’t) then they lost over $1000. That is disgusting to do this. Slimey.

As someone with Celiac, I've never gotten to try Crumbl either. Considering how unhealthy they are, that's probably for the best. 😂

The co owner Sawyer made a LinkedIn post about being aware of the fake pop up shop and going to open at Australia location. I guess he don’t care about taking legal action because he had hit 70 million in revenue and doesn’t care that the fake pop up wfh op misrepresented his brand 🤷🏾‍♀️

At some point we as a society need to sit down and ask ourselves "How did we get bamboozled by a counterfeit cookie company?"
Sometimes we become so invested in products and their hype we lose all reasoning. 75 Aus dollars for a stale cookie is a loss I could never publicly admit 😅

The us dollar is worth more than the Australian dollar so it's not as crazy of a markup as it sounds. Still more expensive than if purchased here but not over 3x the cost. Just sayin.

You can tell they were stale by how they were hard not soft. I garentee that they didn't say they were crumbl cookies and I garentee they didn't say how much they were paid.

They were probably shipped to Australia from a Crumble in BumbleF*ck Alabama 6 weeks ago. 😂 I’m not sure what everyone was expecting, Crumble cookies are sucks even when they are fresh/half cooked, I can’t imagine what they are like when they are 6 weeks old.

I'm not gonna lie I'm a crumbl cookie hater. I hate that the creators aren't even bakers, just two dudes that wanted money and the cookies aren't even good. I just feel like real bakers deserve that hype. That said its got me giggling that this is hurting their reputation and they weren't even involved. 😂
