yeah I get that after that point (despite how little they directly interacted), aside from calling blitz "blitzy" like 1 time, then at very least stolas stopped being so condescending towards him. cool, but he rlly should've directly acknowledged how he treated blitz. prolly apologized and explained he didn't fully understand how it must've made blitz feel; as sarcastic chorus has said, I get they had other stuff to worry abt but the "seeing stars" ep rlly was the epitome of avoiding the problems lol

I think his biggest mistake was how the meetup started. Instead of very coldly requesting the book permanently without explanation and immediately putting Blitz on edge, he should have opened with a positive statement.
Instead of: "Do you have my book?"
It should have been: "Actually blitz, i have a different idea for tonight. I have a gift for you."
He then could have gone over, getting the crystal, told him about it and done all the speech he had from there. Never even bring up the book in the first place other than stating that he won't need it anymore.
Then if Blitz goes into his foreplay bit afterwards like he did, he could still interrupt him like he did but instead of walking off, he could just simply say: "No, blitz, this isn't a foreplay, i'm being serious."
I think that the main issue with their relationship is that Stolis isn't clear with his intentions, leaving Blitz guessing and then Stolis takes it personally when Blitz guesses wrong.

    • @Broeckchen
      @Broeckchen 4 месяца назад +139

Apology Tour really brought the issue into focus there. Stolas acts like he's in a romantic comedy, where things are bound to work out and your loved one eventually will say just the right words and do just the right things even if you never try healthily communicating what your needs are.
But that's not how relationships work in the real world, at least not most of the time. Most of the time, you need to actually communicate what you feel and need. At the very least you need to do a lot of that in the beginning and during crises, so you and your partner can actually learn who the other person is before an intuition is developed for what they need and want.
So Stolas is constantly assuming that Blitz lives in the same movie script as he does and *should* know all the lines and how he thinks and feels. But Blitz spent his life in a very harsh real world where most people of any other standing than his own had ulterior motives - or at least he thought they did.
And he felt that they were right for that.
I keep thinking of the dream sequence during his drug trip. About how Stolas did have him in golden chains, yes, but Stolas also was so pure and beautiful, surrounded by light and clarity. Blitz seemed almost relieved about the chains, about not being able to run away this time. He became more and more himself the closer those chains pulled him.
I genuinely believe that's why he was upset. He was *glad* to be held close to Stolas by power. To Blitz, that was probably the only way he deserved to be loved AND the only expression of appreciation he could emotionally accept from someone he idealized this much. Being cut loose, Stolas accepting that he could walk out... to Blitz, it was like giving an alcoholic a key to the liqeur cabinet.
And the painful and beautiful thing that Stolas can't see is that Blitz held that key and didn't use it. He did not run away this time. But since he has never done that before, he couldn't navigate the situation, and he gets so angry when he doesn't know what to do.
That doesn't make it okay, of course. Being able to be hurt or angry without crossing lines is a vital skill that everyone deserves to have in a partner.
But if Stolas knew that Blitz' script was about one Prince Charming amidst the life of hardship who would always reward devotion and adore Blitz even in his ugliest moments, Stolas would realize why things went this differently.

Which is ironically exactly how it happens IRL when one partner [usually the woman] decides to "beat around the bush" instead of being direct and then gets angry when the other doesn't get it immediately.
For most guys, you NEED to be direct, you cannot beat around the bush or hesitate because men can, and will, assume the worse if things aren't clear.

Blitzo puts Stolas on a pedestal and his viw of him is reinforced by the way Stolas calls him "Impish little plaything", etc... but I doubt he would do all that if he knew what affect it would have on Blitzo. Pretty much it's miscommunication: Blitzo thinks Stolas thinks about him lowly (which is absolutely justified) and Stolas assumes that Blitzo puts them on the same level (which fits with hs character since he grew up in an enviornment where he didnt have to think about clasism since he was never negatively affected by it). sorry if that doesnt make any sense

Also, something I haven't yet seen pointed out is that whatever little value Blitz believes Stolas to have for Blitz as a person stems from the fact that Stolas enjoys Blitz's company so much, something Blitz isn't used to in his day-to-day life. When Blitz has a shitty day and knows he's meeting up with Stolas, we can see him get a little excited, knowing he'll continue to be financially secure because of the book AND be given that sweet, sweet dose of appreciation from Stolas.
In Full Moon, when Stolas proposes the Asmodean Crystal and adds that Blitz can now use a way to travel between worlds/dimensions without coming to see Stolas, that can come across as VERY insulting--"so this rich owl fuck is so done with me that he's giving me something that means I have no excuse to see him anymore? This situationship mattered at least a little to me emotionally, I thought he felt the same amount at least, but he's so quick to just write me off and pay for my absence? Oh..." And then that sliver of validation that Blitz has some level of worth to someone else is completely gone. He's alone again.
What's saddest about this is that we know Stolas's intentions were the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, but because these two didn't fucking communicate during all of the time they've spent together or learn to understand each other's worldview, the Crystal's "message" carries two completely different meanings for each of them. Blitz is so surprised and hurt by Stolas's proposal that he can't consider what Stolas may have meant... especially because Stolas didn't actually explain his intentions!
It's excellent writing and reminds me of that one scene during Shrek where Shrek hears Fiona belittling herself to her reflection from behind the front door, and Shrek mistakes it to mean she's talking about him.

To me, the biggest alarm bell that made me sympathize with Blitz was the way Stolas requested his Grimoire back. No attempts to make Blitzo comfortable, no pleasantries, not even a simple “hi.” He just requests his book back. I like the point you made that this wasn’t done out of malice and that Stolas was probably in his head overthinking when he requested the book back so he could proceed with mental checklist for the evening, but I love how we can all see just how jarring and traumatic this situation was for Blitzo. Even without his Grimoire, Stolas is still a prince. He has status and power granted to him at birth that he doesn’t have to worry about losing. Blitzo ,on the other hand, relies on this book for his livelihood and his employees’s livelihood. By abruptly revoking his access to the Grimoire, even if for that brief moment, Stolas unintentionally reinforced the power imbalance that has been fueling Blitzo’s insecurities about seeing their relationship as anything but transactional. For that brief moment, Stolas held Blitzo’s livelihood in his hands and made Blitzo beg like dog for it back. Moreover, Stolas doesn’t even acknowledge the distress he’s causing Blitzo. He doesn’t comfort him or even logically explain his actions to properly segue into him giving Blitzo the crystal. He just carried on silently and only resumes speaking once he presents Blitzo the crystal. Everything Stolas did, though well intentioned, felt like script, the plot in one of the romance novels he so loves. Stolas was so focused on his presentation, he never truly looked at Blitzo and acknowledged his emotions. God they are so messy but I really think they can fix their issues if they would just TALK.

Yes, but Blitzø thinks that no one could truly love him, so I’m sure he brushed it off.
As clear as Stolas’s true feelings are to Blitzø in the audience perspective, to Blitzø he’s never seen that side of Stolas before. In the show, we never see them discussing their feelings to each other before The Full Moon episode. And when Stolas says that he does have these feelings, Blitzø doesn’t believe him cause once again he thinks *’who could love me’* . And Stolas reacts to his reaction like he would with everything else, he takes it literal and trys to move on. He runs because he doesn’t see their differences when it comes to rank because Stolas was sheltered from the world and learning what the *”lower class”* is actually like. He also has no idea of what Blitzø is actually like, what he’s thinking, what he’s been through, etc. So he took Blitzø’s rejection seriously and not as a shield Blitzø uses.
They’re both at fault and not at fault at the same time. They both have traumas, different lives, problems, ways of thinking, etc. They just need to properly talk and find more about each other.

Someone who gets it! Stolas' biggest flaw is how *self-centered* he is. Stolas is kind, genuinely in love, is a decently good guy, but my god, he lives in his own little bubble. Stolas never seems to notice (or care) what others feel around him, or how they react to his nonsense. Stolas really failed to read the room when Blitz was begging for the book and trying to reassure him he can "do better". Stolas should have seen Blitz' distress and shifted gears a little, but since he had a set idea of how the night should go, Stolas plowed on without considering Blitz' reaction and feelings. Stolas, intentionally or not, only cared about how he felt and what he'd say, his plan, and didn't consider giving Blitz a moment to process all of this.

Blitzs yelling at the end is beautiful, because it frankly shows how much he wanted to talk. If he didn't care about Stolas, he'd have left, he had everything he ever wanted, why stay there and yell? Stolas didn't realize Blitz needed the terms of the agreement, he needed Stolas to tell him what to do and when, and when Stolas started giving Blitz choices, he felt unwanted, because he's only ever operated under the act of being forced into situations. Him finally, and definitely being given agency to decide, was... terrifying for him. It made him immediately, but irrational, see himself as being thrown away.
Think of like, a "if you set them free and they come back to you" situation, where maybe a wild animal is treated like a dependent pet and then...randomly, let go. They aren't always gonna feel like they are being "freed", they will just as often feel like they are being thrown away.
Blitzs response, demanding to "fight it out" is how he handles conflict. Yell until they both understand. Look at how he fixed his relationship with Fizzorelli. They yelled until they had a break through. Blitz...was trying for that.
And for a conflict oriented person, a conflict avoidant person shutting you down when you are trying to work things out...
That's the equivalent of them throwing you away, cause they aren't willing to listen or be uncomfortable with you long enough to fix it.
That's how I see all this...as a person who is conflict oriented myself. I saw Stolas shutting down as...him not being willing to make it work, even though it was obvious... Blitz was still standing there, willing to bang, willing to yell, willing to talk and think it over, and try something.
Stolas was only willing to hear a yes. Blitzs response was...honest and all together more realistic. If Stolas could have been bothered to listen...they'd been past this in one night, not...probably another 2 seasons. lol.

      @ChiakiHatori 4 месяца назад +44

I really like your comment although to me it isn't just Blitzø being a conflict oriented person but also because to him it's easier to lash out and yell than actually face his vulnerability.
He uses sarcasm, dirty jokes and anger to cope with his feelings of sadness.
He only cries when he's alone and seeing him on the verge of tears while yelling at Stolas got me.
Those were his emotions spiraling out of control, the tears he fought to hold back and that came to surface when he didn't know what to do anymore.
I feel similar, instead of crying, I'd rather lash out even if I become hated in response, just doing everything so people won't see how much it affects me and see me in a vulnerable position.
It's a common trait of people that don't like themselves, this scene of Blitzø yelling and tearing up at the end, perfectly captures that.

Well… considering how it went at the beginning of Apology Tour, it was nice of us to think that h they would have worked it out in one night. Blitz’s answer would have been, Nah, let’s stick to fucking!
While I do dislike how self-centered and bubbled Stolas is, I think half the reason why he sent Blitz outside when Blitz started yelling is that (as some people theorized) Stolas is just getting out of a marriage where his partner yelled at him and mocked him all the time and Blitzo doing that probably triggered him (or something).

i see myself in the opposite side personally. Stolas's view has its merits, he's not someone who's ever had to stand his ground in a conflict because he knows he has no need to have a ground to stand on normally: he's a rich influential and powerful person, while Blitz is just an imp, he just wants to have a sincere and direct relationship with someone so he tries to balance things out in his own way with his own power (which is also why he's tried to break this moral contract with blitz, debatable social skills aside).
For someone who's as rational as Stolas, hearing a simple insult during a discussion where he symbolically says "we're fully even now, do what you really want" is like an unexpected punch in the gut: a painful realization that (in his mind) it was just a mask to hide the fact that it was a contractual obligation and his presence wasn't truly appreciated.
Am i saying he was justified in doing everything he's done? absolutely not, they both have had a reasonable yet flawed approach, which makes this relationship very interesting and human. I just personally appreciate and understand the struggles of Stolas the most

      @@tuamaputanna2897
I think it wasn't unexpected at all, actually. I think he knew it would go exactly like it did. His reaction was simply confirmation bias. He accepted defeat immediately
He knew this relationship was just sexual, and breaking their contract would only result in Blitzs mask coming off, which it did, as you said. He fought with Stolas directly, and didn't lie to him through faked sexual interest, he just told him to his face what he really felt as an imp and Stolas - knew it was true but had hoped it wouldn't be. It's why he was vomiting that morning. He knew what Blitz felt all along but denied it, and just wanted him to feel something more.
Blitz confirming for Stolas this was just sexual was why he dropped the conversation so quickly and moved on so fast. He knew what he was looking for wasn't there for him.
Stolas wanted to be loved. Blitz just wanted to be held.
One needed truth, another needed a lie that felt true.
But in Blitz mind, who I empathize with more, They both had what they needed. A connection just intimate enough to fill them, but just distant enough to keep his wounded heart safe from feeling too much.
Stolas is more straight forward to understand. I feel. He's very black and white with his thinking and struggles to see anything from outside of that perspective.
He can't see his own political and social power, he can't see his own actions being interpreted as disrespectful. And he can't see how Blitz feels being valid. He can only see that his proposal was given what looked like a "no". Even though,Apolpgy Tour was the best kind of "yes" Blitz could muster. Indirect, sloppy, outlandish and stupid, and never admitting the truth but trying his hardest to say without saying the words, or showing his heart in the process.
A hot mess of "yes". But for Stolas, he needed someone to "stand by the train" and drop him soliloquies of poetry about their affection. And this dumb Apology Tour was just Blitzs desperate poetry.
They just don't speak the same language.
Me, I speak indirect and stupid, but I also speak rational and direct. . So I feel for both. But, Blitz gets my sympathy more because...he can't do better. If Stolas just listened he's smart enough to understand.
Or maybe... he's more naive than I realized.

If he was in a better state of mind he might have framed it more positively (ie "Do you have my book Blitz? I need it back, because I have a surprise for you"). But again, as a sheltered kid with social anxiety, the emotions I read in that scene is that he was so afraid of rejection that he was feeling it already, and so was treating Blitz as if he'd already rejected him, so instead of his speech being the opening to a conversation it felt to Stolas like a final appeal. I think the scene in S1 E1 is also an example of what I saw a therapist bring up when she reviewed Full Moon. Stolas has an anxious attachment style where he kinda wants answers on things fast while also processing his feelings fast as well, which is good in some cases where it is better to move on quickly, but when it is something like this it is kinda not a good thing because he moves on a bit too fast before Blitzø can actually process what just happened. This is more because Blitzø has an avoidant attachment style and needs a bit more nudging and time to actually understand what is going on and how he feels about it. I think this is also partially what leads to this communication breakdown because while Stolas is fully content with moving on because he "has his answer," Blitzø is still trying to process the fact that Stolas' feelings were serious WHILE chasing him down to further explain himself. Stolas is just unaware of how Blitzø processes information and his feelings as well as Blitzø being overwhelmed with how fast Stolas does the same. I actually kinda like the fact that Vivzie and her team are doing this with them where they show how terrible communication can ruin a relationship. Like you think with Moxie and Millie, they both communicate pretty well with each other and the one time they don't, Millie is eventually able to place the pieces together that he isn't saying something and they work through it. They have a good relationship since they are able to communicate what they need and what they want. Stolas doesn't do that with Blitzø clearly enough and I think Blitzø is too mentally scarred at this moment to actually know what he wants from Stolas (like if he wants something more or just the sex and book). I like the fact that we are being shown a dysfunctional relationship over one that just works out for the sake of shipping

The best explanation in my opinion is that he is just in his own world. He knows WHAT he did wrong, but he doesn't quite realize WHY it was wrong. He is a sheltered child, surrounded by books that were probably his only escape. He's a drama queen, and combining that with his terrible social skills, you have a terrible combination. Not only he did the gesture with the crystal because he was nervous, but mainly because it's very dramatic. Would it be a fairy tale or a theater play, it'd work, and the characters would react appropriately for the drama. The build up to the crystal reveal is so gut wrenching "what's gonna happen, is he seriously taking it away? GASP! It's a twist and it's a good reveal" it works, but sadly people don't work like that. But in Stolas's head, that's what he thinks is right.

Stolas, hearing this for the first time, has his heart broken as he never saw Blitz as a lowly plebian or street urchin. Knowing that Blitz saw him this way is what broke him. However, I think there's some truth to this mirroring Stella’s actions around Stolas. @bluebird1914 Oh, I don't think he did either. He knows Blitz wouldn't physically hurt him, but he doesn't seem to answer to such high negative tones well unless he's engaged in it. It was less of an engaged argument and more of Bliyz yelling at him like Stella does. Stolas only heard the parts that he took as Blitz saw him in a negative light and figured there was no way for him to lose that view of him. At least, that's my take on it.
I mean, if someone shouted an obscene comment at me and then went on a rant, I might’ve only heard to comment and, in the end, I might react similarly to how Stolas did. I'd disengage from the conversation and get away from what I would interpret as poison in my ear.
One thing I definitely understand is Stolas’s idealation of a relationship with Blitz. In a relationship, or one you want to develop with someone, you want you and that person to be on the same page in many ways. One of those ways is how you see each other. Knowing that Stolas holds Blitz in high regard but now believes from Blitz’s comment that Blitz holds him in very low regards, I can definitely understand the heartache one would feel from that.
The sad thing is that the more I watch the show, I see very weird parallels to my own love life. It's not 1v1 and there's major differences (like we don't have such animosity toward each other that we see with them in Full Moon and we've never had sex or used each other for a benefit), but I see the similarities in both of us between Stolas and Blitz and it makes me feel both weird and sad.

@wordsmith6154 as someone's who's been the Blitz in the situation I can tell you the yelling usually comes after a string of smaller requests that just get ignored.
Blitz and Stolas have tons of interactions where Blitz has said (as calmly as he can) that he doesn't like something Stolas is doing. Calling him "blitzy" in front of people. Trying to flirt with him in an inappropriate situation. Add that to the very real power difference the two have, where Blitz doesn't feel like he has equal power to further tell Stolas he doesn't like something after the first time it gets ignored.
At some point, you break and you yell because you don't feel like you're going to be heard any other way.
All I wanted when I was in Blitz's situation was for the other person to just listen and say "I'm sorry you felt that way."

29:20 can we also talk about how when Stolas doesn't want to talk to Blitz he can teleport him outside of the house with magic without Blitz even realizing what happend until he's outside. That's how imbalanced the power dinamic between the two is, if Stolas wanted to hurt Blitz, Blitz is done for. Meanwhile when Blitz doesn't want to talk to Stolas, even with very good reasons (the hillbillies literally following him with a shotgun, not that he needs a reason anyway to be busy), Stolas outright ignores that and instead goes on talking about his day while the other is literally fighting for his life. I genuinely hate how Blitz had to beg and cry before Stolas actually explained what he meant by taking the book away permanently. It's all the worse when he mentions him wanting Blitz to continue his business, demonstrating how he's completely aware of just how important his job is to him and still phrased that as though he was threathening his position in it. It was such a wrong power move that completely showed just how much control Stolas had over Blitz. It's heartbreaking, mean and cruel. Of course Blitz would feel like he's being toyed with. Even when they went out once, it was beacause Blitz invited Stolas, not the other way around. Blitz doesn't know to expect anything else from Stolas because he isn't really known to pull those sorts of casual things. You don't ever see Stolas inviting Blitz out to lunch or for a coffee, they only talk when related to the deal and the deal revolves solely around sex, thus that's what Blitz sees interests him. Not to mention Stolas being cryptid kicked the conversation off to an awful start where Blitz was already manipulated into being vulnerable instead of chosing to be like that for himself. Blitz obviously got on the defensive, he didn't want to get hurt after leaving himself bare and exposed like that. Plus, the reality of the situation was so far off from what he expected that he was caught unawares, he didn't know how to react, but he was most certain Stolas was bored of him from how it seemed like he was trying to dismiss him or avoid him. The thought of ending the deal hurt Blitz, not just because of the book, but because he felt unwanted and, quite possibly, belittled. The fact that Stolas pulled some strings that, as an imp, the other lacks to get him the Asmodean crystal and how Stolas was the one to break the contract just like that without a word in edgeways from Blitz implies that they were never equals or business partners, Stolas had just been toying with him. Blitz already knew that, or at least we know he wanted to believe that, but to see it confirmed through that simple action, without anything to offer to the bird, he felt like nothing. If Stolas was no longer interested in Blitz there would be nothing he could do about it and he'd suddenly become worthless. To top it all off Stolas comes onto him strongly with this talk about him having genuine feelings for Blitz. Bitch, how's he supposed to know that? You haven't showed it properly, you just told him and wanted him to feel the same without putting any effort into swooning him whatsoever. He doesn't fully understand the power imbalance between the two of them (it's on a social level, an economical level, an educational level, etc), instead he victimises himself constantly during the whole conversation and doesn't grasp the fact that Blitz would see him as he is: a superior and a noble.
I honestly could rant about these two dummies all day, but I think that's enough for now.

Stolas used blitz not really in the sex part which both enjoyed, but in having someone with him and not feel alone. Blitz didn’t even really wanted to be close to stolas, he didn’t show up for him when he was hurt, Stolas wasn’t the best and didn’t always acted the best but you can’t really blame one for acting the way they do based on BOTH their actions, plus, of course stolas was afraid of actually telling blitz how he really felt about him, blitz broke up with Verosika because she said i love you to him, knowing this, and based on literally every other relationship blitz had, it’s easy to get cold feet and to get he is (blitz) afraid of feelings

Let's also not forget how when Blitz is telling a drunk Stolas that he didn't actually think a royal could love or care about an imp, and specifically care about him, Stolas focuses more on the "care about me" part of what Blitz says, which is a good start because his point to "these people all threw a party dedicated to hating you, the wouldn't do that if they didn't care about you" is 100% true. They do care about him and what he did even if for bad reasons. Stolas is incredibly interesting to me because he's very obviously a product of being isolated; in high society and in his family. He is aware of there being social differences, but as you said, it doesn't feel like he understands what that actually means. Everything he does makes his entire character feel like a game, because throughout his interactions he's always had a safety net to fall back on, something of comfort. Even at his worst, he has things in place so he doesn't fall too far down.
Nothing matters as much for him because he literally cannot feel the consequences and rawness of the varying situations. In a way, it's almost like a twisted sense of innocence. He can't relate or understand Blitz because he's never been in a position where he HAS to be there emotionally with someone on his level. Even Octavia and Stella are different because Stella was forced into this and holds little emotional connection to Stolas while Octavia is someone who intrinsically trusts him due to their relationship as father-daughter, and thus don't have big gaps of life where they never knew eachother. There's a familiarity and/or ability to simply walk away with almost everyone in his life that doesn't match up when he's with someone like Blitz.
The relationship is mutual, and Stolas has never had to negotiate and figure things out with someone who's only with him for him, and this can be really interesting if done right.

Stolas’s view on Blitzø (and his social status in general) can be compared to the “I don’t see color” argument for race equality. By seeing Blitzø as his equal, he ignores the systemic power imbalance their society is built upon, just as saying “I don’t see color”, while hypothetically evening the playing field, fails to acknowledge the difference in privilege between races. In order for Stolas to truly understand Blitzø, he needs to acknowledge the world they live in and the power he holds.

We all have different skin tones and that's ok, the problem comes with the way people treat others with certain tones, not the skin tones themselves. Same thing here. The problem isn't blitz's lower status, the problem is the hardships and systemic oppression that come with that status. Ignoring it or being blind to it won't make it go away.

I feel like what the Helluva Boss community’s been doing with picking sides is wrong, since I believe that both sides are in the wrong and that they shouldn’t be fought for either way (although I will acknowledge that, judging by the trailer, the writers will side with Stolas in all of this despite them both being in the wrong)
See, I believe that the core issue that both Stolas and Blitzo runs into is how they jump to conclusions- in this scene at the end of Full Moon, Blitzo jumps to the conclusion that Stolas doesn’t actually love him because of how much he hates himself (which leads him into doing the mocking love thing, which breaks Stolas’ hope for reciprocation) and then jumps to the conclusion that Stolas is only using him and only likes the idea of him, leading him to scream and yell at Stolas…and then on Stolas’ side, he jumps to the conclusion that Blitzo just doesn’t love him back and begins to zone him out (he’s probably used to doing that because of Stella), which makes him start to act as the victim in this scenario and he teleports Blitzo away instead of just communicating with him honestly and clearly
That’s why I think that picking sides is just a murky slope that force both sides to push and push against one another with points until they get tired out since each side (in my opinion) is equally in the wrong (Blitzo has been treating Stolas pretty awfully throughout this show because of his strong self-hatred, which leads him to dismiss and avoid and push back Stolas…meanwhile, Stolas’ sexual flirtations to match with Blitzo’s intensity on their first night together really did come out as just condescending belittlement for Blitzo, it’s it not helping that Stolas’ people pleasing and awkward nature making him hold equal amounts of terrible communication skills as Blitzo)
TL;DR: I don’t think the community (and the writers) should take sides here when BOTH Blitzo and Stolas are in the wrong

A small detail that shows that Stolas doesn't really consider other people's feelings very well (aside from this whole situation is because of him not being able to read the room and see Blitzø 's obvious standoffish, objecting behavior as unhappiness) is during that one scene, post coitus with Blitzø where he's talking about the Harvest Moon festival. THIS MAN STRAIGHT UP PUTS OUT A CIGARETTE ON BLITZø'S HORN (which a REAL thing abusive smokers sometimes do to their victims' skin). Even if it didn't seem to hurt Blitzø, Stolas is not an imp, and I doubt he's done enough research into imp physiology to know that it wouldn't hurt. It's just something he _did_ very casually due to being way too comfortable with Blitzø, without considering the potential consequences of it.

its pretty obvious that, throughout all these episodes, Stolas unconsciously made Blitzø feel like a toy or a just a "plaything". Sure, stolas now changed, but he had to actively tell him that in that epsiode. Because from blitzø's side, he just got a s3xual arrangement that he depends on to continue his career (very important to him) and suddenly he gets nice messages from him. And we already SAW that he doesn't understand them when he talked to fizz. And we also saw how important their class differences are; "all rich people/royals dont give a sh1t about guys like us, theyre all the same" and now him saying it again during their fight.
Blitzø is getting so many mixed signals from this. Especially since stolas had this talk on the full moon, where blitzø FULLY expected them to just have s3x.
So yes, Stolas did make him feel like he's breaking up with him, even if it was just for a short moment.
When stolas rejected blitzø and told him he "made up his mind", we can already see how scared he was, that this arrangement will be over, that his career is threatened. He didn't just say that for fun. ("i need this book, I will do anything.)
Then when stolas told him he no longer had any obligation to see or "bed" him now, we can see through blitzø once again. He and stolas, their whole relationship was tied to this book, without it they (like stolas said) would no longer be obligated to meet. Or rather - like stolas phrased it - BLITZØ was no longer obligated to see him, which he thought implies that stolas didn't want to see him anymore. Going through the hassle of getting him a crystal and then basically saying "they finally aren't forced to stay together" ?? Yeah, I would get mad too.
Stolas then starts to clear it up a bit, saying he "cared and found the situation unfair". But that wasn't enough. He did not say why he feels that way, he implied it, he was being so very vague. It wasn't enough communication. Because again, blitzø did not connect those "nice talks and messages" to stolas liking him. Which is why he assumed he wasn't serious.
But AS SOON as he understood, he talked seriously, he asked for a minute to think everything through, but then stolas walked away already.
And I'd like to address their class difference again. For stolas, blitzø was TOO good. He was his saviour, his love, he was unconsciously painting him too much as a hero. But for blitzø, stolas is a rich, privileged "asshole" (as he put it in the end) who basically has an imp f3tish and doesn't see him whole.
Their talk was doomed from the start. They BOTH don't see each other whole. Because they've never TALKED. They don't KNOW each other beyond their k1nks.
I don't blame stolas for leaving. But I also don't exactly blame blitzø for yelling, even if it wasn't right. But stolas put an end to this with "you don't have to say anything, I have my answer", basically dismissing blitzø completely and thus, making him feel smaller and "not as important". Which is why he immediately jumped to their classes, like "oh, im just am imp, hells lowest creature and you're a privileged prince". (Like in Oops, when he said that stolas just "loves feeling the thrill of getting d1cked by the lower class. Its a novelty to him". He doesn't see how a royal could love an imp.)
I NEED others to see how vague and dismissive stolas was being in this episode. See how blitzø's class and the deal has an impact on his personality. This isn't really me blaming stolas. This is about why they reacted the way they did (because stolas definitely has his reasons too, like flinching when blitzø yelled at him or not having his happy pills that day). BOTH are toxic if anything. BOTH need to talk. BOTH have trauma. (but still, for me, stolas has to apologise first. And then blitzø. And then they must have a long talk, that's way overdue.)

Another thing that shows Stolas’ “I’ll give him a choice” was not what happened is him putting the crystal on Blitz. He didn’t ask, he didn’t give him the crystal so he could choose, he forced Blitz’s ‘freedom’ which even if Blitz would’ve taken is still not letting Blitz choose. Then if Blitz recoils and the events go down as they did Stolas could throw Blitz out with the crystal in the box. Then it’s still Blitz’ choice whether he wants the crystal.

It explains his awkward/bad jokes, taking things to literally, and his horrific communication skills; as well as his passivity in trying to manage the conflict in their relationship. It also explains his rejection sensitivity with Blitz. And given he never had a great shot at learning social cues and how to interact with others, let alone a partner, to begin with…yeah it comes down to him thinking he has said exactly what needs to be said and that very much not being the case. It also explains his misunderstanding of their roles in the relationship. He’s trying to play a role that doesn’t exist in Blitz’s mind; but does in his because he thinks this is how Blitz likes the “relationship” based off the “cues” he got the second time they met at his house.

I believe it was to make sure Blitzø would come. As the whole audience knows, Blitzø doesn’t like to talk about how he actually feels, and I feel Stolas wanted to make sure Blitzø would show up so they’d have that talk. Then everything went wrong and they’re both to blame. :)

Honestly I think Stolas was doomed either way. Stolas has tried to have Blitzo over and has tried to talk to him but again Blitzo dismissed it as Stolas being Stolas. I think that at this point Stolas was like I know from past experience s that Blitzo will shoot him down, but he does come over on the Full moon. Also Blitzo says in the song he has been avoiding Stolas questions. In all honesty it does not matter if Stolas gave the heads up with Blitzo since the man is avoident to deep and emotional conversations.

Listen, I know Stolas had a hard life involving his father, Paimon and his abusive wife, Stella and we should all feel sad for Stolas. But he's not that innocent either especially when he treated Blitz as a plaything since he's an imp and the fact they did a make out session during every full moon just for the Grimoire is kinda selfish even though Stolas just wanted attention. Originally a plot point but scrapped at the end. Stella was portrayed to be nasty throughout the series and I think she might be the final villain. (Maybe she would take advantage with the cherubs’ power and turn into a seraph)
What I might want to see is Stolas losing his regal title and privileges and being exiled by his own clan; which gives him an opportunity to experience what the imps have been through.

As a person who is more into actions than any kind of emotional expressions, it didn't sit well with me that people were unconditionally backing Stolas when he completely derailed the entire day Blitz spent trying to find a way to make the night a good one for the both of them. That was a slap in the face that the very start, him not acknowledging any of that effort or even appearing happy to see Blitz, and it set the tone of the entire meeting.
They've both definitely got issues, Stolas' are just harder to see because his are so passive aggressive and understated/usually wrapped in politer tone. I love Stolas to death but the dude really does not stop to consider the other person's perspective, lol. Love this video, thanks for saying it more thoroughly than I could. I said it last video, and I'll say it again - the single biggest thing that rubbed me the wrong way, and the reason I think Stolas is a massive hypocrite is simply that he knows just how much he fucked up at Ozzies, he knows just how much he wanted Blitz to give him a second chance, yet he immediately shut the door on Blitz, emotionally and literally, after he fumbled handling Stolas' confession.
If Stolas had given Blitz even a second to process what was actually going on, which you can literally see him doing in that scene, then things almost certainly would've turned out for the better.

To be fair, Blitzø brought that on himself, and it also affected Stolas in return.

    • @G3HP
      @G3HP 4 месяца назад +11

@@emargaux That wasn't my point though - it's Stolas' POV of Ozzies that matters, and the show makes a big deal of telling us how much Stolas regrets what happened at Ozzies, and how much he wants Blitz to just give him a second chance.
My point was that Stolas knows what it's like to fumble that hard, yet refused to afford Blitz any kind of forgiveness when he fumbled. It rings hypocritical for me.
