Scary encounters! Mamas and their Cubs scary! They don’t say protective like a mama bear for nothing! Very cool to see though ! Rainy pass! So close to my neck of the woods! Canada!

It definitely was a surprise! I think Honeybear was a little upset that I took the time to record but for whatever reason that was the instinct as they were walking away.

That's the clearest skies and cleanest images I've seen from the PCT this year. Bad news about that mom bear that was reluctant to leave you. Sounds like she's already experienced human food ☹️

Yeah it completely caught us off guard because we were in the middle of conversation and then all of a sudden BEAR! We had encounters on the AT but it was always hearing them bolt of before you saw them. Then just bear butt until they disappeared.
