Have any of you regular citizens out there experienced, first hand, the corruption in your local courts? My family has been up against OBVIOUS biased judges and prosecutors. I’m sure that corruption exists in criminal defense attorney’s as well. We happened to have an honest one, a former DA who knew about the corruption we were up against and tried to have our case moved to a different county. The judge of course refused, so we ended up settling. It was a horrible five year experience. My point is, the corruption trickles down from the top. These smaller courts know they won’t face any kind of retribution. It feels to me like our country is hopelessly corrupt and it will take monumental change to correct that.

In the normal world depositions are done in private. When the person on the hearing, public hot seat answers differently than what they said in the deposition they get called on it.

Have any of you regular citizens out there experienced, first hand, the corruption in your local courts? My family has been up against OBVIOUS biased judges and prosecutors. I’m sure that corruption exists in criminal defense attorney’s as well. We happened to have an honest one, a former DA who knew about the corruption we were up against and tried to have our case moved to a different county. The judge of course refused, so we ended up settling. It was a horrible five year experience. My point is, the corruption trickles down from the top. These smaller courts know they won’t face any kind of retribution. It feels to me like our country is hopelessly corrupt and it will take monumental change to correct that.

In the normal world depositions are done in private. When the person on the hearing, public hot seat answers differently than what they said in the deposition they get called on it.
