It's not surprising that Leo would use Pyra. He is very capable with Powerful but Slow Sword characters. He made Ike look OP when Ultimate first came out
Spargo wasn't running away and charging limit so there was no need to switch to mythra. Eventually Spargo will be up close in Pyra face whether it be Leo go up to cloud or cloud coming to Pyra so it didn't seem like the run speed mattered in that sense, Leo just boxes better up close so naturally Pyra is the smarter option

I’m no smash theorist or anything, but my guess is that we saw more Pyrha than Mythra mostly because Cloud is a slow enough character for her to stay out without being punished for it. Seems like how often either form is used should depend on the matchup, and not be a static strategy.

Actually accurate though, Pyra's range enabled Leo to play a super solid spacing game against Spargo's Cloud. Though it looked like he wasn't comfortable with Mythra in this match, Leo might be able to make a case that Pyra's neutral game is not as bad as people make it out to be.
@@tha-fresherson Mythra's speed invalidates Pyra's range advantage because of how quickly she's able to get in and out; It effectively works like having more range. When offline tournaments come back and Pyra's moves become more reactable you'll see far more Mythra use.

The same story can be said of Ike early on, where once people learned how to fight him, he got worse overall. Slow characters with strong hits always gradually get worse with the meta. Now if you combine Mythra and Pyra and switch between them, then that mitigates the weakness of Pyra. Use Mythra to hit them into disadvantage and then Pyra to get the kill.
Where are the folks saying these 2 aren't broken? We have Mr. Number 1 himself who's also a sword specialist pulling the potential out of this character and showing how good Pyra actually is, not just Mythra and her privileged frame data. Allow me to reiterate that their switch takes the same amount of frames as a spot dodge to finish. Build damage with Mythra and finish the job with Pyra, a simple concept and effective as hell. We've got a new Sm4sh Cloud and how ironic that that's who got beaten in this set.

That second match, Leo knew exactly what he was doing on the end. He was pulling Spargo to his side of the stage so he could switch control (and he got the back-air at the opportune time). That’s how he controls the neutral... by pulling his opponent out of neutral.

That's also not PYRA'S recovery, but I guess using down b counts at her recovery option lol. I have seen people get hit out of it, and Mythra's recovery overall is better cause she won't b line it for the blast zone after reaching the top, but the initial consensus so far I've seen is both characters have pretty poor recoveries since side b doesn't insta-snap the ledge and the up b's are fairly telegraphed and not that far. And half of those side b's I thought there would be too much end lag but nope, maybe she has a higher jump than I thought, but he made some recoveries I thought for sure he was dead even after I saw him make it several times already

I can deal with the stupid fast Mythra that combos me to hell.. But the things Pyra does is just way too far into the "why did that fuck me over?" category. While I think a lot of Pyra's aerial attacks are wayyy to strong - I actually think her giant flaming sword projectile is the most OP thing in the game. It goes so fricken far, does tons of damage as a kill move, has a massive hit box, comes out fast. It invalidates the approach options of 60% of the cast, not to mention ledge guarding. Why does Pythra get to have almost every single attack, any direction you point the controller, be better than most of the cast? She was the same price as the rest of the DLC lol.

Other than Pythras recovery everything about her makes it so her recovery isn't even a downside. Especially since one of them is a great kill move. Edit: I also think, just based on the patterns of previous DLC, she will end up getting a nerf at some point.
@@dent5672 yea they still have downsides. Pyra's moves are very telegraphed and slow and you can play around them. Mythra will overextend meaning you can punish them. Photon Edge gets shut down by projectiles. Both their recoveries send them into free fall meaning they have to either up b or side b which don't go that high. Both characters aren't great with escaping juggle pressure.

Metaknight was also lightweight but his pros were so good it didn't matter. Pyra/Mythra can not negate their flaws. They don't gain a lot but camping like bayo and meta knight. They can't kill at zero, and they don't have ladder combos that kill you at any percent.
"Mythra doesn't have enough kill options". Like a fast F smash, Lightning Buster (which I find unusually busted) and some of the best ledge guarding in the game depending on the character fought? I like to start pyra for ez 30+ because her best combos are at low percent, swap to Mythra while still pressuring till 90%, then it's off with their heads.
Mk leo like ariel kill options Mythra has a decent kill confirm but it's all from grounded set ups. Not to mention that mythra is only ever going to really kill at the ledge.
Xenoblade developers were horny while making her and Mythra. They’re both actually thiccer and with slightly more revealing outfits in their respective games.

Kinda crazy how both are number 1 in their region. MKLeo offline is ranked 1 (but we’ll see how that goes when tourneys come back), and Sparg0 ranked 1 online
Mkleo makes any character look fantastic because he's fantastic at this game. But are we really gonna act like this Pyra/Mythra character doesn't nearly auto pilot all the victories herself? She risk almost nothing for any given situation outside of hanging deep off the ledge. Her physicals hit HUGE, and are either hard (pyra) or fast (myth) and trade in her favor against almost everything. Not to mention she never has to choose sides because almost everything she does hits a full 180 degrees. -Her time slowdown is busted -Her fire pillar slam is crazy fast and covers nearly the entire stage vertically And the list goes on and on, lol. She is so obviously not balanced and receives FAR to much advantages without any real disadvantages. The only other character that has felt this busted is Joker himself, lol. She reaps so many rewards for so minimal effort its crazy, lol.

First game last stock before dying by a few minutes, Spargo could’ve tried limit up-B the Pyra for the kill when she was up high. It’s also an unexpected and creative option.

Mythra can actually kill pretty well with confirms into Neutral B, Up smash, and even up air at like 180 lol. That plus foresight punishes makes her formidable even solo.
Her neutral b and f smash are her only really decent kill options at decent percents and that's at ledge. Void even says that mythra doesnt kill at reasonable percents at all. But hes simply used to it.

More people should be using blazing end to cover your recovery. It makes it pretty free and the opponent really cant do much about it

Where are the folks saying these 2 aren't broken? We have Mr. Number 1 himself who's also a sword specialist pulling the potential out of this character and showing how good Pyra actually is, not just Mythra and her privileged frame data.
Allow me to reiterate that their switch takes the same amount of frames as a spot dodge to finish. Build damage with Mythra and finish the job with Pyra, a simple concept and effective as hell. We've got a new Sm4sh Cloud and how ironic that that's who got beaten in this set.

Es decir, lo normal es empezar con Mythra y ir bajando daño con sus combos aprovechándose de su velocidad y luego pasar a Pyra para matar, pero Mkleo inicia con Pyra, y usa mas bien poco a Mythra, de hecho en algunas ocasiones hace daño con pyra y cambia a Mythra para matar en la primera ronda, que es lo opuesto a lo que se hace normalmente, no termino de entender como juega su pyra-Mythra pero lo cierto es que funcionan muy bien, se nota que controla muy bien a pyra y a pesar de su lentitud mete la suficiente presión para mantener a cloud a raya, quien sabe si hubiese usado mas a Mythra de haberse encontrado con un oponente mas rapido como pikachu, me deja con ganas de ver mas combates asi, por algo este tipo es el mejor del mundo

That second match, Leo knew exactly what he was doing on the end. He was pulling Spargo to his side of the stage so he could switch control (and he got the back-air at the opportune time).

I have seen people get hit out of it, and Mythra's recovery overall is better cause she won't b line it for the blast zone after reaching the top, but the initial consensus so far I've seen is both characters have pretty poor recoveries since side b doesn't insta-snap the ledge and the up b's are fairly telegraphed and not that far. And half of those side b's I thought there would be too much end lag but nope, maybe she has a higher jump than I thought, but he made some recoveries I thought for sure he was dead even after I saw him make it several times already

I can deal with the stupid fast Mythra that combos me to hell.. But the things Pyra does is just way too far into the "why did that fuck me over?" category.
While I think a lot of Pyra's aerial attacks are wayyy to strong - I actually think her giant flaming sword projectile is the most OP thing in the game. It goes so fricken far, does tons of damage as a kill move, has a massive hit box, comes out fast. It invalidates the approach options of 60% of the cast, not to mention ledge guarding.
Why does Pythra get to have almost every single attack, any direction you point the controller, be better than most of the cast? She was the same price as the rest of the DLC lol.
It's only week 2 people are still learning.

Other than Pythras recovery everything about her makes it so her recovery isn't even a downside. Especially since one of them is a great kill move.
Edit: I also think, just based on the patterns of previous DLC, she will end up getting a nerf at some point.
@@dent5672 yea they still have downsides. Pyra's moves are very telegraphed and slow and you can play around them. Mythra will overextend meaning you can punish them. Photon Edge gets shut down by projectiles. Both their recoveries send them into free fall meaning they have to either up b or side b which don't go that high. Both characters aren't great with escaping juggle pressure.

@@dent5672 difference is bayo could literally negate her flaws and cancel her endlag but grabbing ledge. She was also was kind of light but that doesn't matter when you can kill people at zero. Metaknight was also lightweight but his pros were so good it didn't matter. Pyra/Mythra can not negate their flaws. They don't gain a lot but camping like bayo and meta knight. They can't kill at zero, and they don't have ladder combos that kill you at any percent.

I like to start pyra for ez 30+ because her best combos are at low percent, swap to Mythra while still pressuring till 90%, then it's off with their heads.

Mkleo makes any character look fantastic because he's fantastic at this game. But are we really gonna act like this Pyra/Mythra character doesn't nearly auto pilot all the victories herself?
She risk almost nothing for any given situation outside of hanging deep off the ledge. Her physicals hit HUGE, and are either hard (pyra) or fast (myth) and trade in her favor against almost everything. Not to mention she never has to choose sides because almost everything she does hits a full 180 degrees.
-Her time slowdown is busted
-Her fire pillar slam is crazy fast and covers nearly the entire stage vertically
And the list goes on and on, lol.
She is so obviously not balanced and receives FAR to much advantages without any real disadvantages. The only other character that has felt this busted is Joker himself, lol.
She reaps so many rewards for so minimal effort its crazy, lol.

First game last stock before dying by a few minutes, Spargo could’ve tried limit up-B the Pyra for the kill when she was up high. It’s also an unexpected and creative option.

Not enough Pyra neutral B despite many, many chances. Same for Mythra's Foresight not being used for predictable hits/combos.
Mythra can actually kill pretty well with confirms into Neutral B, Up smash, and even up air at like 180 lol. That plus foresight punishes makes her formidable even solo.
Her neutral b and f smash are her only really decent kill options at decent percents and that's at ledge.
Void even says that mythra doesnt kill at reasonable percents at all. But hes simply used to it.
