We love your voiceovers Dave. :-) Maybe don't let them get TOO frequent but they're awesome here and there. Also, kudos Brother on the scripture at the end. :-)
Hey! The wood with the rotten holes... don't get rid of it! Burn the rot area till it's not soft, and dry the slab. You can make a river table using polyurethane (can add color to it). Worth more than you'd think.
Great video! Did anyone mention that the black "handle" by the top handle on your Stihl chain saw is a chain brake? I think if you release that you'll find your chainsaw works well. Been there, done that!
We had a local guy find a large piece of black walnut for us. It's great to go watch some one cut a piece of wood. Ours ended up being about 7 feet long, 6 inches wide and 4 inches thick and now is a live edge shelf behind our sofa. The other piece we got ended up being a piece for my husband's boss. I think he used it for his fireplace mantel. Both got a clear poly treatment and are gorgeous. Nice video and your sons are going to get in on the wood working, too???
Man, this what I should done with my DTG video I forgot to turn on my mic for.. so awesome! Yes! D, 2 Dah G! lolol You have the best neighbors ever! And oh, I was just thinking I wish I could make one of those raw edge tables with sparkly epoxy! You all could do that with the squirrel hole, too cool.
I feel like I should already know this but do you sell an album of your sweet sweet jams Mr. Good? I sure would like one to listen to while I'm running around on the skid loader.
I have a Magnolia tree that you can come take down and haul off, Its about 60 ft tall. This weekend would be wonderful. The neighbor is taking his kids to the lake, I'm almost sure they would never miss it.😁
The metal detector analogy hits home with me! What could it be under the ground? DAMNIT just another PULL TAB! or zinc penny... 😂 occasionally you strike something good and it makes all that trash and hardship worth it 👍
I had the 110 year old pine tree from my parents house (now my house) of over 50 years taken to a saw mill and slabbed, cost $800 to get it there and cut up. Its been drying 8 months now. Not sure what I am doing with it yet. Slabs are heavy, like 200lbs ea. Pine beetles killed it :(
Glad to see people are appreciating the "cull" wood that they used to throw away. To me the flaws are what makes it beautiful....kinda like people...wow that sounds too deep lol.
CJ drove that tractor like a boss. He's fearless. And, don't tale this the wrong way, but maybe consider losing your mic more often. Chugggggachuggggga Brrrrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzzzzt! Kiss Baby Jenny from me ~ Lisa
Certain varieties of magnolia wood are used in Japan to make decorative boxes and even sword scabbards (shirasaya). The black bits/"zebra striping" is called "spalting" and is mostly just cosmetic in hardwoods. Some folks use it for decorative tops on electric guitars. Persimon wood was used to make the shafts of golf clubs for ages and ages too. I think you can still buy them to play "Vintage Golf" for crazy amounts of money.
dont give up on the saw yet ckeck the sprocket in the end of the bar and make sure its not seized and also make sure the brake is not on and your chain is way too tight just trying to help and love your videos
I think I will go for a higher return and invest in those little rubber balls some of us used to get out of the dime (and then quarter) gum ball machines.
I want to breed some paste tomatoes & some slicers with reisetomate/traveler tomato because I want to get an acidic tomato with lots of flavor. To me, today's tomatoes are too sweet. I don't want sweet tomatoes, I want a tomato that has that old fashioned tomato flavor. I've read that the reisetomate is very acidic. It also looks sooo cool! It looks like a fused bunch of grapes. Maybe the results will be what I'm trying for. If not, I'll just keep trying. Wish me luck!
Hey David, Enjoy your videos and was wondering if you were available for speaking engagements (zoom talks). How do i get in touch? My group is the Tropical Fruit and vegetable society of the Redland (TFVSR) out of Fruit and Spice Park, Redland Florida. Thanks!
Persimmon wood is SUPER hard. I cut one that was dead standing in my fence line a couple of years ago. I didn't realize what it was till I looked at the bark later. I tried to split it with a maul and wedges for firewood. Nothing doing. Nope. No Sir. Aw *HELLnah*! My teeth are still rattling.
@@davidthegood Yeah, I know. I looked it up. Kind of strange. Of course Osage being related to mulberries is even stranger. Can you imagine if mulberries were the size of hedge apples? Softball sized mulberries? Wild.
No sir to that. This is cherry laurel, the fumes are toxic. Definitely don't burn indoors. Just cutting it with a chainsaw makes sensitive people sick.
A stihl chainsaw should pop/turnover once in full choke and then when you put it in half choke it should take a couple rips on start cord and then it will turn over and rev high due to trigger lock and then you rev it with trigger and it lets off and then should idle steady.
Hey ryan warren here from mackay queensland Australia. You know the now communist country rationing their citizen's to 6 chicken breasts per family at coles supermarkets. Anyways. I think you should build an ark. We can hang out on it and write songs. I play slide guitars. Ill bring whiskey and cigars.
See the FloraBama's video from the OTHER SIDE of this milling project: ruclips.net/video/r3suWiBz3Gw/видео.html
The sound effects made the video for me. I laughed so hard. That's sound guy needs a raise! $$$ 😀🪵
Great to hear Sugarpie ;-)
lol you are hilarious! love the voice over lol! thank you
David I loved your sound effects they were perfect especially the grunting and groaning thank you for the smiles
The Voiceover part was the best part! I think I’m going to purposely turn my microphone off on my next videos. Lol
That voice over was hilarious!!! Much better than actual audio! Thanks for the belly laughs and great video 😂🤣
Who among us hasn't wanted a saw mill at some point in their lives.
I want one and i'm not even 30 yet!
I could use one. Honestly, I'd rather have a good friend who loved cutting logs up for me.
You made my day, good sound affects and team work.
I just love your song, David. That old groove is really nice.
I am dying with this voiceover! 😂😂😂
LOVED it too🤣
Killing me softly
Same!
It is pretty great. 😊🌎🌟
The no sound section reminds me of The Red Green show in the best possible way... except no terrible injuries.
I am highly suspicious this is an elaborate joke just to do these hilarious bits.
The voice over…. I can’t!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
We love your voiceovers Dave. :-) Maybe don't let them get TOO frequent but they're awesome here and there. Also, kudos Brother on the scripture at the end. :-)
Ahhh this voice over made my day
Anybody who can build ANYTHING from a picture in their head is an artist.
I know this bcuz I do the same thing.
And it IS an art.
More power to him! 👍
I never draw plans, I just start building with the image in my head. Also I'm a graphic designer, not sure if there is a connection.
@@sweatt4237 I say yes, definitely.
You're an artist, with the lovely artist brain. 🎨 ❤
Build on!!
Awesome!

My thoughts exactly! Fill it in with resin!
LOL the voice over was worth it. I laughed out loud so much. This was good for my soul. Sick in bed with the c for the last 7 days. Thank you
Dare I say, better than Mystery Science Theatre 3000? Yes, yes I said it!
You had way too much fun with the voice over!!! Love it!
🤣🤣🤣 the voice-over was THE BEST
Had to watch voice over TWICE! 1:22
Thank you for bringing us along.
Loved the voice over!!
I love hearing the crickets 🦗 and frogs 🐸. Will subscribe to dudes channel as well. Thanks Dave the Good 👍
Was anybody else singing to the music?
Ugg as soon as I posted that he started singing.
Yep.. didn't even realize I was singing too 😅 good music!

Hilarious as always!!!
Man I'd love a sawmill!

Yea, we talked about using epoxy in the squirrel hole but the wood is just to bad.
I feel like I should already know this but do you sell an album of your sweet sweet jams Mr. Good? I sure would like one to listen to while I'm running around on the skid loader.
Love the voice over!!! Good job!
I'm here for the music!
Love the music!
Love that shouldn’t I song!!
OMG I thought it was real chainsaw noises well done 😂💖
so good
Ok! Just watched Flora Bama’s video also and this was a good collaboration! Thank you for sharing!
Been thinking for a while about getting that exact model, this may have pushed me over the edge.
Hey man - that's awesome!
the starting the chainsaw part scares me
Memories of a massacre can be hard to erase.
Now I need to find some persimmon lumber
You two should come over to my place and get this huge water tupelo the hurricane knocked down. I wanted to mill it but I'm never home.
Omg thank you poplar is an amazing wood but needs curing

Totally. The wedding ring I wear is a simple gold one I found 6" deep in an old baseball diamond.
Hahaha! You're too funny 😂🤣
Yes I got some of those Cherokee Tan seeds from Danny. 🌞🌞🌞
Hello @David

I like your music. I think you do a lot of it dont you!
I have a beetle kill pine from my mom's yard, I'm milling it out for future projects also.
Sexy voice-over...yup! Wood harvesting is still five or eight years out for us. Hard to develop a good wood lot but so worth the effort!
Oh man, I been enjoying the seminole pumpkins I grow but now Cherokee tans are on the list if they taste even better
Glad to see people are appreciating the "cull" wood that they used to throw away. To me the flaws are what makes it beautiful....kinda like people...wow that sounds too deep lol.
I like it too - it's redemptive.

That is really cool - I did not know that.
That cherry will be great for aging wines and spirits.
My channel is 3 weeks old now It sure isn't easy so much to learn Let me know what you think.
dont give up on the saw yet
ckeck the sprocket in the end of the bar and make sure its not seized and also make sure the brake is not on and your chain is way too tight
just trying to help and love your videos
Thank you - we got it fixed.
Hahaha! Brilliant!
I'm genuinely jealous your neighbors have a rip saw tho lmao
Spark plug.
Stock market? Invest in tennis balls, higher rates of return. 🤪
Yeah, and at least they bounce back consistently.
I think I will go for a higher return and invest in those little rubber balls some of us used to get out of the dime (and then quarter) gum ball machines.

You've used the heck out if that saw.

It's related to ebony! Super dense.

Maybe the chainsaw just needs cleaned. The filter and a new spark plug maybe. 🌞🌹🌞
I think you should just do voice over on all of your videos. It's better really.
Of my multiple personalities my Safety Sam one is lying on the ground twitching uncontrollably.
Strict laws in Mississippi on cutting magnolia..
We didn't have to worry about this one - storm took it down.
If you remove the bark first the blade will last longer on the mill between sharpening
Sure, but how in the world would you do that easily?
resistant to squash vine borer?...you know of those rascals?
The cherokee tan pumpkin? yes, about the same as Seminole
If anything chop that cherry up for bbq use.
No sir to that. This is cherry laurel, the fumes are toxic. Definitely don't burn indoors. Just cutting it with a chainsaw makes sensitive people sick.
Oooooooo sugar bite… where can I listen to this song? You really should sell the music
Sugar bite? 😆
Thats: Sugar Pie!
Classic DTG!
I love how you synced the pass of that board with the music.
Might be time for an electric chainsaw! I love my Ego.
safety glasses?
Where???
@@davidthegood I usually put glasses on the minute I pick up a chainsaw. Standard safety. But I love that pretty cherry.
