I don’t go out everyday with a bucket of clay and mold them they are exactly what their genetics make them to be.

Great show keith. We have a few deer farms in the ares I hunt in here in Australia. They captured a few wild ones got them to start breeding up and good gentices and set them free for hunters to enjoy over the years. They animals are red stags or knowning here as the Queensland red deer. Queensland is a large state of Australia. Great to hunt them with rifle and bow up in the hills.
Kinda takes the intensity and satisfaction out of hunting to me. Like shooting fish in a barrel ain't no sport in that. Anyone can shoot when it's kept in basically a back yard setting. Well I guess when people willing to pay big dollars to say "I went Hunting" lol JUST my opinion
My husband says those over grown and deformed antlers are not what he would want to see on a young Buck and they are not something he would consider a prize for a hunter.

They are technically wild animals. Farmers use different techniques and Barns aren't necessary to keep snow and wind away from them if they need it; 3 sided roofed shelter and thick trees/shrubs are enough to suffice
Howdy Mikey, the deer stay outside. They are wild animals- in areas where there are tough winters, the deer are naturally built to withstand the cold elements.

I wisht I had me a rainch and free stuff .Rather watch real guys hunt , that pay their own way , and can't hire guided hunts for tame deer ...just my opinion , used to watch Noel Feather too ,until the truth came out about him.
We visited D Bar while the bucks were still in the velvet, so this is the footage we have. Once they are out of the velvet, their antlers are cut so that they don't kill each other.

We are in desperate need of blacktail deer from the west coast of Washington to the redwood coast of California. We need everything from managed lands for hunters and farms/land to raise the deer. It's illegal to raise/farm deer in the state of Washington as of 1992 (unless you grandfather them). Oregon strictly regulates and Idaho is a big producer of Fallow Deer. I myself am getting into the deer farming business and the only way people learn about what is going on is by contacting other people who are aware of what's going on
The drops on their antlers looks like a deformation rather than a superior pedigree. It's repulsive on such a species.

How do you know if it is a good genetic doe?
There is no way to tell unless you have DNA or know where that doe came from.

This is not hunting this is going to the store and picking out what you want. Are you really proud of yourself after shooting a animal in a cage ?

Why is there a need for deerr farming? We get plenty in most areas of USA . No prob getem wit trucks why and guns bows etc! Why grow more?
