An expert has no reason to undervalue an item, as that would only undermine there own reputation. why would they risk their career just for a couple hundred dollar commission?

People have to realize these "consultants" have deals with the pawn shop and are there to help the pawn shop not the seller. They always give a lower price than was originally on the table. With that being said that sword isn't worth $22k. Closer to $15k and selling it for $11k to a pawn shop is about the best your gonna get. I honestly never understand people that being high dollar antiques to pawn shops instead of taking it to auction.
