Because of these guys I got into motorcycle touring. I would watch in awe at these motorcycle gods. I haven’t seen it in years. It’s mad how different I view it now. Over loaded bikes, stupid wheelies and yes
there was a bmw team off camera with them the whole time. I don’t care what anyone else says.
Then because it was such a success they got bombarded with sponsorship on the second trip. A lot of pressure to please the sponsors a lot of counties wouldn’t allow them to cross visa and carnet for the bike. Then there was arguments even on camera. I remember thinking eff the trip just don’t eff up the friendship. But they are both still very cool in my eyes. Hope they are still good friends
Such a great series.. I've seen it so many times and always makes my heart sing. Humour, adventure and bikes.. love it so much
Probably the most profound thing Charley has ever said about the filming through your eyes. Great watching these three.

I like the old cussing, smoking, snoring Ewan from 2004, living in Scotland and hanging out with his neighbors. He felt like a normal person.
I don't like the new clean, scarf wearing, electric car driving Ewan from 2019, living in the middle of California in a gated mansion and pushing electrification onto everyone. He now feels like another rich Californian trying to be like a mixture of Elon Musk and Steve Jobs.

I'm watching Long Way Up and I have to say that the electric bikes just don't stack up to the BMW's. I am thinking about getting a GS like the ones in this series.
