    The necklace that Gaga wore had not been out of the Tiffany vault since Audrey Hepburn wore it in the 1960s.

      Not quite; Lady Gaga was only the 3rd person to wear it in its history. However, it's loaned out for important events, like most recently when a new Tiffany store opened in Shanghai, and before that Australia.

    Diamonds are the most common and basic gemstones out there that it should not even cost anything above $450. I do appreciate Tiffany actually trying make sure the diamonds they use are of quality. But you forgot mention one thing why they're so expensive, majority of their jewelry is made with platuim, which is the 2nd most expensive metal in the world. Palladium being 1st and Rhodium being 3rd.

  • @IammissKryst

  • @jamilavibar9698
    @jamilavibar9698 5 лет назад +29

    I'd once considered creating a jewelry drop ship store and what I had discovered was amazing. Two things I know now is that a lot of jewelers price WAAY above keystone price for stone jewelry and that a diamond 💎 are not as rare and special as people make of it. They are not the shiniest of all stones that it resembles, it’s not ecologically-friendly, nor as sparkly as the diamond alternative, moissanite, and jewelers like Cartier & Tiffany’s have a specialty niche with an elite cult-like, fan-base; That’s all.

    • @shoshishoshi127
      @shoshishoshi127 4 года назад +3

      I don't think people buy diamonds just because they're sparkly. Diamonds were discovered earlier than moissanite so it's been worn by royalties and rich people a lot longer while it's gaining popularity. It is so famous that people who don't study gemstones can tell that diamond is the hardest known mineral ever known. People also choose stones for their symbol and not just because of how pretty they look for them. Diamonds are even used in a lot of religious texts all around the world like the bible. Not everyone knows moissanite even though it really is a good quality stone that rivals diamond. We all have our own aesthetic preference but I really know a lot of people who value what stones symbolize. I don't hear a lot of men who would buy a ruby ring for their wife just because their wife likes red.

  • @RayGano

    Yes it is worth it. You purchase investments, not products. The Tiffany name behind the jewelry will always ensure a higher resale value vs that of some standard jewelry one would purchase at some other jewelry store.

    925 sterling silver is super cheap but because if the brand name we pay a ton more for the same exact piece when it says Tiffany’s. Just have to decide if it’s worth it to you. Pandora silver heart and Tiffany is the same exact thing. Diamonds are a different story but not that different lol.

    I think that in Business, it is all about creating value. And Tiffanys does just that.
    It's not about the physical value of the individual items, but the emotional value.
    Think of it like this, The Value of a card made by your child will be worth more to you than the most expensive card in the store, if you're a parent. It is all about PERCIEVED Value.
    And the experience of shopping is half the value of what you bring home. You don't just bring home a ring or a necklace; You bring home a Memory. You bring home a Symbol.
    And that is without even considering the importance the average person places on brand names and brag-rights.
    So is it worth it? That depends entirely on what you Values, what your girlfriend Values, and whether or not you can aford it without blowing all your savings on it. (Or worse, go into debt. Credit Cards are every bit as dangerous and sinister as drugs, just in a different way.)

    Tiffany actually doesn’t use the highest grade diamonds. Look into what makes an actual ideal cut diamond, there are many cut parameters involved, and the strictest of grading criteria.
    Tiffany grades their diamonds in house, without using any type of a third-party grading system or laboratory. Granted, they may be choosy, but they aren’t as choosy as say, AGS.
    Tiffany jewelry is lovely, I own several pieces and I adore them. But they certainly don’t offer the highest quality diamonds in the world, or even in the United States. They do however offer probably the most overpriced diamonds, right next to Cartier and VCA.

    No, I don't think it's worth purchasing Tiffany. If I was a billionaire, I might think differently.

    • @shoshishoshi127

      Too bad. The elite world values symbols more than what things really are made of. If you want to get into their society you'll need to decorate yourself with things that symbolize "elite" and hang out in circles with good reputation. That's what separates billionaires from other people. Of course there will always be outliers but I've been with rich people and I know just how they think. But Tiffany & Co. has great quality, too, not gonna lie.

      @@sferrara It is not misnaming. It's not even Tiffany too. It's Tiffany & Co. People shorten it to Tiffany's just like when we say Mac instead of Macintosh. These brands accept these nicknames.

    If you're a billionaire or a millionaire from the wealthiest families could afford to go off towards Tiffany & Co. to spend on Jewarlies or something else in items.

    It’s not “Tiffany’s.” It’s “Tiffany.” You’d might as well say you got your bag at Louis Vuitton’s, your shoes at Gucci’s, your scarf at Hermés’s, your dress from Chanel’s, your pen from Montblanc’s, your phone from Apple’s.
