Hi, people!! I am an older FBA. I suggest that south Sudanese people have a national network. Since there are not many of you here, each state should know all of the educated and higher earning Sudanese in the state. Y'all should have mixers MONTHLY. And you should have a national mixer YEARLY. You have to be intentional about knowing your ethnic group and those that have the same values and are on the same upwards projection. Sadly enough, if this isn't done, you are going to have to date outside your ethnic group-or even race if you want to get married.

I once dated a stereotypical Houston Nigerian man who was older than me and he 1000% destroyed my life. I just now rebuilt it almost four years later so young ladies take the warning and keep your standards high as a safety net.

Sarah, I do agree with you when you say, " I don't have bad experience with South Sudanese men". You know why? Because you are the decent wife material. And a real man can easily recognize that. Man can easily differentiate, the different between a girl to be use for sex and the girl who would be a future wife. Not because of beauty though. I feel South Sudanese in diaspora are exeptial. Most of them grew up or their most close friends are not from the community compared to Hispanic or Asian communities, basically, we do not have access to get to know each other until we realize when we hit 20,s 30,s that how to find a good person in the community. My suggestion is that arranged marriage would be a successful opportunity for us.

Remember family or husband and wife is bigger than certificate and money. There are some uneducated men, who successful than those who are educated. If you really want a good and happiest life, look for a decency man with a good heart. If he has a quality education too, well and good.
