  • From the beginning I thought that coolant is leaking from water pump, since timing belt and water pump were replaced aprox. 65 000 miles ago... When I took more close view I found out that coolant is leaking from the hose near by thermostat... After this hose were replaced the issue were fixed...
    Make sure that you disconnected negative terminal of the battery...
    You will need to remove manifold to perform this labor...Before disconnecting fuel line... release the pressure in fuel system by removing gas cap. Small amount of gas can leak while disconnecting fuel line, be very careful not to produce any spark..

    Thank you for the video, very helpful and informative. Stupid Manufacture, all this work to put a $1.00 hose, took me about an hour to fine the leak, I knew it wasnt the water pump because I replaced it with the timmimng belt 30 to 40,000 miles ago. Thanks for the video... Dziękuję

    Pretty sure you just solved my problem. It's a very slow leak, but can smell burning antifreeze while I'm driving. Have not been able to pin down where it's coming from and it doesn't look like it's coming from the water pump. I had timing, water pump, tensioner pulley and motor mounts replaced 2 years ago so I'm hoping it's not the pump. That's a real pain to replace again. Thanks for this, I had no idea that little hose was there and I never looked at it to see if that's what's leaking. I appreciate your video!!

    I am gonna check this out. I have had a leak in my 95 Neon for years actually. I always assumed it water pump but plenty of heat so I just keep refilling overflow and only use in town. Now that I see there is a hose under manifold I am gonna check it out. Thanks for the video.

    Might be a dumb question to ask, but any idea what that pipe is called mine seems to be rusted out. I looked up coolant pipe heater bypass and I’m not getting anything besides plastic ones. Mine seems to be metal.

      I doubt that there is any specific name for this pipe…

      I have a 2004 dodge neon and a man at the shop said its 95$hr for labor that's y I was trying to see how long it took. I probably could do it myself. Where do I get the hose from and if I need new clamps?

    • @gavrilovas1
      @gavrilovas1  8 лет назад
