Yesss. As somebody with a lot of alt/hard rock influence in my sound, Myles has always been a guy I've modeled myself on. Such a voice.
And he was sick with the flu as well in this performance. If you reacted to the live at amsterdam version that was 10000x better
Saw them live a few weeks ago in Waterloo, NY. Absolutely fantastic show.
I actually saw them live the other night on April 1st and as usual they are amazing. In fact, my GF who is usually more of a country music fan was absolutely floored by their performance. In a way, I got to live through her eyes as it was her first AB concert. Furthermore, she was absolutely moved to tears when miles performed watch over you. It was definitely a night to remember. I think she finally understands why they have been my favorite band since 2004.
Great reaction Tara to a great live song. You really should listen to more Alter Bridge songs, you WILL NOT REGRET IT ! Vocally, I would recommend the live version of their song 'Blackbird' live at Wembley in spite of some fans saying that he was not well at that performance. In the intro to that performance he gives the reason of the lyrics of the song and also plays a tribute to the Beatles who recorded a song of the same name.
100% vote for more Alter Bridge, or just solo Myles. On the Wembley issue, it's not fans saying he was sick, he really *was* sick. He sounds stuffy, just as he does here. The Amsterdam version is maybe a little too high-tempo, but it's much better from a purely vocal perspective, because he does an amazing top-note belt at the end, which he doesn't get close to at Wembley.

Myles is one of the best around. You must do Blackbird by Alterbridge. The Ides of Marh off Myles' latest solo album and Pawns and King the title track of Alterbridge s' latest album. There is a mountain of work from Myles. Solo. Alterbridge. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. One of the busiest and nicest guys in rock. You cannot go wrong. Od and dont forget his duet with David Draiman of the sound of silence too!!

I've seen Alter Bridge live three times, they are absolutely phenomenal, I recommend listening to 'In Loving Memory' in particular their live performance in Amsterdam, it's a song that Mark Tremonti (the guitarist) wrote when his mother passed.
Easily one of my favourite vocalists in term of raw voice
Just so you’re aware, a lot of this vocal fry isn’t on purpose; his touring schedule is insane, and he was stretched to his absolute limit here, but the stakes were higher than ever because it was Wembley and being recorded for dvd. He was also on the verge of tears in that last phrase, and used the sudden dimming of the lights to hide it, which is why Mark jumped in and hyped up the crowd. His vocal quality has changed over the years because he tours with alter bridge, slash, and his own solo work, and is hardly ever home. He’s the most resilient singer I’ve ever seen. He has said that he practices a general operatic technique called “Bel Canto” which is why he can have these really sharp and booming high notes, and even today he can still do it live.

I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to have Alter Bridge play.... IN MY LIVING ROOM. Won a radio contest called Logo in Lights. We made the album cover with 8' x 16' peg boards like a light bright. Anyway, he sounds as good in a living room as he does he does on the albums and they all are great people. Unfortunately you chose the live version where Myles was ill. He is without a doubt one of the most talented rock singers worldwide.
React to live at Amsterdam version of this, he kills it here but he was sick so you're not getting the full picture of his voice.

Tara, you should react to Crash Test Dummies, that band has a lead singer who's voice is just indescribable. You will get a shock out of it (in a good way). The deepest, lowest voice in rock, probably ever. I recommend their song "Afternoons & Coffeespoons", but their most famous is "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" (yes, that's the actual title, they named the song after the part that's hummed)

You should react to ironmouse opera singing. She was a trained opera singer then caught a rare disease cvid. She can't leave her house and was bed ridden for years and nearly lost her voice. She's on round the clock oxygen and medicines but now she's a vtuber and sings and it's amazing

When I listen to a Musician/Artist I don't wonder & think - "What more have they got in them?", as you say. Instead, my thoughts have always been, "Wow what a great performer!"

This is a really poor version would you ever consider watching his live in the studio billboard version it’s the greatest and most pure emotional version I’ve ever watched
That Billboard version was the first time Ibever heard his voice without someone singing with him. I have been a fan ever since.

I don't like Myles' voice per se, but he's a very underrated singer and artist. He's also a phenomenal guitar player.

Myles Kennedy seems like a pretty good singer. Parts of this performance reminded me of Neil Young, actually. It has that '70s folk-rock sound, doesn't it? I enjoyed it. From Myles to Kilometers, I remember your asking in your Bohemian Rhapsody reaction whether Norwegian singer Angelina Jordan has any originals, then you haven't reacted to any. LOL. I think it is a huge understatement and then he goes on to mention Neil Young in the next / same sentence - which lends itself to a comparison.
Young is an objectively awful singer, who has created some really great iconic songs.
I think he was comparing them only with respect to them singing while playing acoustic guitar with no other accompaniment instrument - which Myles does very well obviously with this and numerous others. Vocally - no comparison.
