I bought a 4010 4X4 in 2016, it does everything I need it to. The Trans Mules are good transport vehicles, particularly on farms. They still offer the 4010 Mule trans 4x4 in 2024 line up.
I bought the 2023 4010 4x4 EPS Mule for my 40 acre farm. I think it's one of the best SxSs on the market for serious/hard use. I also like that it's more of a tool than a toy, won't feel as bad beating it up.
@@HughButler-lb6zs you need a new fuel pump sounds like. Buy an All Balls fuel pump if yours doesn’t test at 53psi. Common problem from ethanol fuel. Easy to replace with just common tools.
@kevinkiser9553 when the dealer cleans the throttle body, it runs great for 2 to 3 months. Then it starts stalling again. It's the EPA shit on this engine that's the problem. Kawasaki just did a shitty job in their compliance.
I'm shopping for a used Mule, and this sure was helpful, so thanks for taking the time to make it. AND . . .the video quality is top-drawer. Good camera work, good editing, and. . . good audio 🙂. I know that mic wire got in the way a few times, but it was worth it.
Thank you for the information Me and my wife and friend are buying a 4010 MULE and splitting the cost for my wife’s farm. We test drove this and enjoy the comfortable ride compared to other and we liked the price. We are getting the crew cab as well. Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for the review! They make an after market windshield that has a lower hinged Windshield that flips up on the bottom for front compartment access, Cheers!
I wish Kawasaki would do something better to improve the engine crank case venting into the throttle body. Gums up the sensors over time. Kawasaki gave me a upgrade vent box and throttle body but the problem came back within 2 years
So true. I put a vent recovery can on my 3010. I also drilled Two tiny holes in the plastic Carb intake cover. If it starts Running ragged I can spray A shot of carb,/ choke cleaner Without disassembling the whole thing. Mine is 22 years old. Use it for hauling firewood. No other problems.
Great honest review. Was very surprised to see this video pop up! I follow your channel for your other content but actually work as an engineer at Kawasaki in Lincoln, Nebraska where these (and almost all of Kawasaki's 4 wheel recreational and utility vehicles) are made. I hope this machine treats you well and look forward to follow up review videos. And as a side bar comment, Kawasaki does offer a hydraulic actuator accessory to dump the bed when full of material (firewood in your case) haha.
Really enjoyed this video! I've been looking around for another utv for farm work. It looks like it would work well. We have a Honda big red and a Polaris razor. We bought the razor used, it was priced right, but it's made solely for play. It's uncomfortable to get in and out of a lot. The box is too small and too shallow to haul anything that isn't strapped down. If it gets dusty at all where you are at, you eat a ton of dirt if you have a windshield because of how the air drafts around the sides. If you get one that goes fast, get a model that is fully sealed from the outside, with A/C, or you will want to wear dirtbike helmets and goggles to protect you from all the dust. If you are looking for something just to buzz around and ride just for fun, I think the razor would work well for that.
Great video! We’re trying to get a new mule! And this video was perfect. Also when the first clip of you talking in the gun room popped up it was a shock! Lol I’ll follow just because of that. 😂 solid guns behind you for sure. I have my own gun room and have been thinking of doing some vids. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks again
Wow, I have a 2012 Kawasaki Mule Trans4x4 diesel and I baby mine compared to this... yikes... get a 8n tractor for tree pulling... no wonder he's had to do work with on it... a wise man once told me "an engine will pull anything it's the transmission that takes all the abuse...."
I have a 2018 4010 SE. it’s been good overall but I need to take the throttle body apart and clean it. The emissions control recirculates the crankcase breather through the throttle body. I disconnected and now vent to atmosphere. This is my opinion was a failure by the engineers designing the emission control. I now wish I had opted for the diesel.
If you don't know what you are doing, when cleaning the throttle body, you can do some costly damage to the butterfly valves. I didn't buy a Mule to work.on it, but to work with it.
Are your brakes really bad? Just got a 2024 4010 Trans and the brakes are basically useless. Do they burn in/improve over time or need adjustment? Thanks!
Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Camo Seat Cover for your Kawasaki Mule 4010 ( if your car year is 2009-2022
Kawasaki makes junk. I have a Mule 4010 and it will not idle. It has engine issues and you have to take it back to the dealer annually to have the throttle body cleaned. This works for 2 or 3 months then it's back to stalling. The thing that pisses me off is they knew they had this problem when they sold it to me. That is General Motors culture.
Your dealer sucks if that’s the case. This is one of the most dependable utvs. I’ve had them all for government work. We have fleets of all brands and the mule 4010 are hard to kill. Not the fastest or ride the best but run forever. None of them like ethanol fuel, especially if you don’t run them daily. Dealers will tell you they will take ethanol fuel don’t listen to them. Ive replaced fuel pumps on a dozen of them and the filters are always yellow or brown from water from ethanol. Once the pumps drop below 50ish psi idle stops. Harbor freight sells a fuel injection test kit for $35 with multiple fittings to test all kinds of stuff. When my dealer told me they thought that was the problem they wanted $800 to replace a pump, I bought the kit to confirm their diagnosis. It was correct, so I bought the aftermarket kit from all balls and put it in in less than 30 minutes and no more problems after 3 years so far.
@@kevinkiser9553 it's not the fuel pump So why would I replace it? The fuel pump works fine. When you clean the throttle body. It cures the problem temporarily. If it was the fuel pump, cleaning the throttle body would do no good.
@@kevinkiser9553 Kawasaki.knows the problem to. They need to fix the problem before they sell them. I quit buying Ametican made cars over that very problem. I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla with 200,000 miles and never have problems with it. It idles just fine. I.would drive it to Fairbanks Alaska because it is dependable. But owning a utility vehicle that stalls at idle is very annoying I want to let other potential buyers know about this problem so they don't make the same mistake I did. If they have no problems, well then great. But many people do.
What year model is yours? It looks like the crankcase venting was changed beginning with 2019. My 2019 is at over 2,000 hours and not ever any running problems. Only thing was a relay for the electro-hydraulic bed lift that failed and cost about $5 to replace.

You haven't had it long enough. It will start stalling, and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
